KO7 Panettiere

This fight was less about Hayden’s skill development and more about her growth as a hardnosed,, willful woman of the ring. Beaten badly and stopped by Sophia in their last encounter, Hayden was advised to say on track, continue with the program as laid out by her handlers and forget about the setback. But the well-financed, well-supported Panettiere would have none of it: standing up to her own backers and facing her own demands, the little blonde juggernaut insisted that t be Bush, or no one for this contest.

It would be another thrilling, high-volume affair, and once again, Hayden would be hit hard first, and hurt early, Bush with her spring-legged lateral hopping, lathering hooks and quick, hard-to-read right hands repeatedly found Hayden’s pretty face, putting the blonde wobbly butt in the very first round. But Panettiere had learned a thing or two from the first fight: 1, that it was ok to hold when hurt and; 2, to keep her head moving and angle her body after own connects to avoid Sophia’s receipts. Punches that had dropped and stunned Hayden in the first fight didn’t do as much damage in this fight as Panny managed to blunt the worst of Sophia’s punishment.

Offensively, the blonde continued to show the kind of mouthwatering skills that have made her one of the most exciting prospects to come out of the 110 pound division in some time. Every punch committed to—every punch crisp and snappy: the head punches abrupt and short; the body blows ripped to Sophia’s ribs and waist, causing her visible distress. Despite Bush’s useful attack. Hayden was able to come forward much of the right, placing increasing pressure on Sophia as the fight wore on.

Sweet revenge came in the seventh, when a badly worn Sophia staggered to the ropes with a forlorn stricken expression, no longer able to keep her muscular blonde adversary off her. Hayden’s finishing run was a non-stop churning of criss-cross lefts and rights; digging hook-hooks in the ribs, and; ripping close-in uppercuts that simply shredded poor Bush on the spot. Sophia would go out in her feet and swoon face-first to canvas under a merciless barrage—the blonde seething, nostrils flaring as the ref pushed her away from brunette rubble.

A fine effort for Hayden, and one which gives us a little peek at what’s got under the hood: a fighter’s heart; combative spirit; and the pride to answer hard defeats with resolve.
