Before: Smith faces her replacement on “Melrose Place” in a bitter contest of egos with a lot of history. Langton a tough, very quick fighter, wears opponents down with her fitness and constant contact. Smith the aging, but still dangerous veteran is a complete fighter, stronger than Langton, but this is a big test for the blonde, and she hasn’t shone when the pressure’s on.

R1: As expected, Langton takes it to Smith early, making contact with the double jab, and stepping away from trouble when Courtney answers. Brooke exceptionally quick with her left hand, smiles confidently as she hooks Smith’s temple after hitting her between the eyes with the jab. 3 punch combinations stop Courtney in her tracks as she tries to close the range, as Brooke bounces away. Smith has some success with a strong lead right in the final minute, but Langton takes the round.

R2: Brooke feints the jab, Smith flinches cover up, and Langton smacks her belly with a sharp double left hook. Brooke’s handspeed is the dominant factor in the fight as she circles, beating Courtney to the punch with pretty combinations, slipping just an inch t either side of Courtney’s jab and hitting her hard to the chest or face with the counter. Wheels fall off Langton’s apple cart in the final minute as she over commits with picturesque hooks to the midsection of Courtney, and gets caught leaning back with a wide left hook. Brooke comes up wobbly, eyes wide, and Courtney surges forward. A looping right grazes Brooke’s eyes and she seems to collapse, falling into ropes badly disoriented. Pathetic attempt to cover up leaves Langton vulnerable and Smith batters the brunette as she sits on the ropes. Finally, with Langton’s head snapping back and forth, and her hands dropping, the referee steps in and stops the fight with 3 seconds left in the bout. Sensational KO for Courtney Thorne Smith.

After; Smith fought up to her potential, using her strength to finish the job once she had Brooke hurt. Showed a real champion’s finishing kick as Langton badly shaken by the punches she took.
