BOXING AFTER DARK

Results: Simguy; Story Bonzo

BEFORE: “Landry/Righetti was a wakeup call”, Estella answers when asked about the recent title fight in an interview a few days before the fight. “Amanda likes to treat every loss of hers as a lucky win for the other girl. That’s quickly becoming annoying. But in that fight – there’s nothing for Amanda to spin. Ali Landry is probably the all-time best welter – she shouldn’t have been called an underdog in the first place – and she handled Amanda just how you’d expect from such a veteran. She won most of the rounds and then whacked her out. Simple stuff, really. Now if you’re a Righetti fanboy, as a lot of guys in the press seem to be, you’re still going to talk about a bad night, bad luck, that sort of thing, but me, I saw that fight and I think Ali just flat out exposed her. No luck, just one woman being better in the ring than the other.”

Then what does Estella think about THIS fight? “I’m fully aware what my place here is supposed to be. I got ranked No. 25 in the division recently, I’ve lost some fights, but I’ve got a good reputation – simply put I’m supposed to lean my head into Amanda’s fists and get beaten up for a few rounds to show that she’s still dangerous. NOT GOING TO FRIGGIN’ HAPPEN. They chose me because I’m not supposed to be a total pushover, you know, so that people don’t think Amanda’s all pissing her pants after losing to Ali and go for a total unknown. But, quite obviously, they chose me because they think I’m a good buildup fight. And that’s not just disrespectful – it’s stupid. This is my 11th year in the FCBA, I’ve been in countless title fights, I’ve WON a title. I’m welter elite, f-k what the rankings are saying. Skill-wise, strength-wise, I’m a top ten fighter. After Landry we know Amanda’s not as good as she thinks she is. So whatever they’ve got planned here: it’s – not – going – to - freakin’ – happen.”

Righetti confronted with Warren’s opinion/allegation, responds, “I’m disgusted with my performance in the Ali Landry fight, disgusted, really. I’m not saying it was lucky – I’ve got no problem admitting I was bad, and Ali was better. But Estella’s drawing all the wrong conclusions from it. First of all – I’ve beaten Ali Landry twice. In pretty dominating fashion, I might add. Then, as for Estella: she hasn’t been picked because she’s supposed to be an easy fight. We chose her because she’s good. I’ve seen a lot of her fights, including her win over Theron and she’s definitely good. But it’s not going to help her. It’s irrelevant who’ll be standing in front of me in this fight and how good she is – she’s going to get the beating of a lifetime. I need to prove it to myself – I want to give Estella the worst beating of her career – quite simply. I’m ambitious, hard on myself and performing like I did against Ali is just not acceptable. I’m really dead serious about this. I don’t care about Estella’s feelings, the pain she’s going to have to take, whether she’ll want to end her career after this: whatever. There’s aggression in me. It has to go away. Estella’s the victim. End of story.”

Weigh-ins with Righetti usually a pretty reserved affair, professionalism prevailing over emotion: feels different today – girls seems positively aggravated by each other. Some chest-pushing, hands-on-hips stances, Amanda forcing blonde into stare-down duel body-to-body. Estella’s trying a little too hard, going overboard with acting tough – she’s obviously a little unsure what to make of Amanda’s pre-fight interview and unusual aggression, ends up seeming insecure/intimidated – Righetti just smirks: task accomplished. Fight night: Warren in navy blue bikini, long blonde hair curvy/loose, Righetti in black bikini, red hair in battle braid.

FIGHT:
R1: Dynamic start to fight as both girls aren’t looking to get organized/hide-behind-jab: Estella and Amanda come out swinging – blistering exchange in the middle of the ring has crowd roaring. Righetti beats Estella to the punch, blonde’s hook sailing right by Amanda’s head – takes a SHATTERING blast to the temple in return! Warren clobbered: big blonde pitching onto her knees with a bang on the spot, going down with a confused look. Estella whacked, but proudly rising: she’s woozy, but fit to continue. Redhead eyes blazing – immediately stalks blonde to ropes, jerks muscular right hands into Warren’s ribs. Steady drumbeat jabs knock at Estella’s head – staggering blonde slides down the ropes, on rocked knees, guard up in desperation, not answering back at all: just trying to defend herself.

Vicious spearing rights into Estella’s midsection, jabs to chest pin her, then Righetti leans forward, swinging a right into Estella’s flanks, hammering away at her guard. Amanda pursuing Estella all through the second minute – redhead punishing blonde with no mercy, just looking to hurt Estella, essentially just hacking away. Uppercuts rock blonde’s jugs and face – redhead’s guard not very organized, but blonde’s too punished to think about countering: Amanda just seething, enraged, mad KO lust pushing her forward – Amanda wants Estella finished early. Constant body-punishment has Estella groaning – right hands have Warren’s head pitching back, eyes roll back, right knee bending: BLONDE DOWN! Estella on her knees again, shaking her head. Ref has to hold back Righetti who can’t get enough of her blonde. Warren rising at the ropes: face puffy, upper lip split, cut under the eye, but gesturing she’s fine, wants to go on.

Warren’s hands are up – but she’s a staggering wreck bravely walking into more brutality. Righetti wastes no time: pounding jabs hammer athletic blonde senseless: poor Estella out on her feet, punched foggy as Righetti has her way with her. Short right hands into Estella’s gut – blonde’s eyes well up from pain, she’s leaning into ropes, eyelashes flattering, blank expression. Righetti’s right hand finally catches all of Warren’s jaw – body instantly limp, head jerking, body toppling over to the side violently. Blonde lands on her side with a painful groan, rolls over onto her back stretched out by the ropes, mouth slightly opened, lips mumbling, just whacked OUT! Righetti actually bellowing down at her, pounding her chest, redhead all but losing her professionalism, wouldn’t mind punishing her blonde some more, has to be restrained by ref. Good God is Warren finished – brutal KO1 Amanda Righetti!

AFTER: Warren still out of it, first KO1 loss of her 11-year career, just ran into Amanda Righetti on her most violent night. Amanda completely disregarding of Estella’s plight, just extremely content with her performance tonight: first-round annihilation pretty rare for redhead. “This was necessary. There are some girls out there, like Estella, who think that just because I lose a couple of fights there’s no reason to fear me anymore. That’s a mistake – ask her now!”
