Alyssa Lynch vs Roselyn Sanchez

Alyssa:
(26, 5’7, 120, 40:15 FCBA, VIXENs)

Roselyn:
(48, 5’5, 2:4 FCBA, Latina Knockouts)

BEFORE:
Lynch is back in action tonight after a TKO win over Briana Evigan last month. Tonight, her opponent is not your usual fare: Roselyn Sanchez almost double her age but looking no less fit when the two faced off at the press podium earlier.

“Well, usually I’m the one standing at the side and promoting my girls,” Sanchez says with a laugh. “Tonight, it looks like I get to step in their shoes and show them how it’s done. Alyssa’s a good fighter, and I look forward to one of my girls beating her in the future, maybe someone like Garcia.”

Alyssa of course not liking the sound of that, or any insinuation that she might lose a fight. The Vixen shoots the stable a sidewards glare, before responding:

“Only reason why I’m here is because Kate asked me to. If she could be here, she’d be the one kicking your ass. As for Garcia, bring it on. I’ll pound her into putty after I’m done with you.”

That’s one way to make friends with an entire stable, with Yanet Garcia (also in the audience that night), puffing her chest out and immediately trying to climb onto stage to challenge that statement personally, but she’s held back by Sanchez for now. “You’ll get your turn, chica,” Sanchez says, trying to calm the Mexican down.

Tale of the tape sees Lynch with a two-inch height advantage and of course, we’ve already mentioned their age difference. Sanchez remains calm and poised when the two women meet later on stage, as befitting of any leader of the stable. Alyssa meanwhile gives her a cocky look: a smirk on the lips as she plants both hands on her hips and turns her chin up at the Puerto Rican fighter, then at the rest of her entourage behind.

Fight night hours later and the crowds are eager to see how this clash of generations might go. Alyssa is dressed in a dark blue sports top that shows off her toned biceps, and a pair of white thai muay thai shorts. Roselyn’s number is more conservative given her age, but no less exciting, with the Latina Knockouts leader coming out earlier in a dazzling golden sports bra and vale tudo shorts. For someone close to 50, she’s still looking fit as a fiddle, sporting a chiselled midsection to rival Alyssa’s own.

Referee calls this match to order, and with a wave of his hand, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Slow start as both ladies circle, trading early jabs at the head. Roselyn’s understandably more cautious of Alyssa’s youth and potential speed, stamina and power, but she’s holding her ground well as she takes most of the early attacks to her forearms. Alyssa spending the first round testing out her defences, trying to break through to the vulnerable chin and taking the occasional pot-shot to the tummy. Roselyn, however, stuns everyone (including Lynch) when she spears a right hand into the Vixen’s face in the very second minute of this fight, and then another jab crunches into her nose as a follow-up! Lynch needs to take this fight seriously is what the VIX officials are probably thinking, and she can’t afford to underestimate her opponent, no matter how much older they are. The Vixen is clearly frustrated by the end of this first round, growling as she continues to pound away on Sanchez’ guard, to no effect, whilst still taking the occasional punishing shot to her face. Against the odds, Roselyn Sanchez takes the first round close!

ROUND 2:
Lynch must be steaming at having lost the first round to someone who could be her mother. She STORMS out of the gate this time, intent on leaving no quarter to Sanchez. Sanchez was sort of ready for the sudden rush, but thinking you’re ready and actually being ready are two different things: she immediately blocks and covers up her face from a sudden flurry by Alyssa, but then the Canadian goes south with another, landing shots all over her torso to drive her backwards regardless! Sanchez lets out a shout of pain as the air is driven from her lungs, her toned midsection taking a pounding from low swing after low swing, and she’s forced to lower her guard to intercept. Lynch keeping on her, growling as she swings another hook to the head, which bangs hard and sends Roselyn reeling off to one side. Second half of the fight, however, sees Sanchez regain her footing, and use surprising speed to keep herself out of the fray, jabbing furiously back at Lynch’s head to try and keep her away. Lynch looks more satisfied this time when the bell rings, at having redeemed her honour.

ROUND 3:
Lynch tries another rush to end things early, but gets stopped by a return flurry or two from Roselyn’s corner, the older woman now expecting her attack and immediately firing off combos that target her face. Lynch grunts and grimaces as her forehead gets stung and her cheek gets bunched up by one or two errant jabs, and she’s having more trouble closing the distance to wail away on the older fighter. But deep down, the younger girl knows that this can’t go the full ten rounds, not with Sanchez’ stamina not being what it once was. The Vixen keeps up the pressure, constantly herding Roselyn towards the ropes or corner, then flying at her suddenly with a barrage of hooks and uppercuts. Roselyn grunts as another hook slams into her arms, throwing her off balance before Lynch successfully goes after her body again with pounding lefts and rights. Bell rings and Sanchez is left breathing hard, but she did more than enough earlier in the round to come out on top. So far, so good for the Latina Knockouts starlet. The question is: can she go the distance against an overeager girl?

ROUND 4:
Roselyn thus far has been fighting defensively and letting Lynch come to her for a beatdown. It’s worked so far, with the Puerto Rican fighter already winning two-out-of-three rounds. She repeats the process in the fourth, keeping her arms locked over half her face and trying to anticipate more of Lynch’s attacks as they come. Alyssa, however, is eager to mix things up. She closes the distance early, launching more jab combos into the arms to make sure Roselyn knows she’s under pressure, before going off the road with a big overhand and hooks around the guard to STUN her foe hard! Roselyn lets out a gasp as another hook bangs into the side of her head, with Lynch simply reaching around the arms, squaring those shoulders before letting that right hand rip. Lynch continues to abuse, hammering shots into the top of the head or smacking leather into the belly direct with a lunging uppercut under Sanchez’ arms. And by the second minute, Roselyn looks like she’s in tatters! Another loud GASP is echoed from the Latina Knockout leader’s lips as she takes a hard swipe across the face after she lowers her guard to protect her body, gets SWIVELLED off into the ropes and then FALLS to the ground on her knees! It’s a hard KNOCKDOWN for Alyssa Lynch! And try as she might to force her knees back off the ground, Sanchez is left hanging onto the middle rope, her head forced between and her mouth hanging wide open! The referee counts her all the way out to ten, but it ain’t no use! It’s OVER!

Official Decision: Alyssa Lynch defeats Roselyn Sanchez via KO4!

AFTER:
Immediate chaos erupts in the post-fight aftermath as Alyssa turns her back to celebrate with her corner, arms up high with a roar to the crowd, when none other than Yanet Garcia slides under the ropes, fire in her eyes as she crouches low before breaking into a wild sprint!

CLASH from behind as the Latina Knockouts starlet tackles Lynch back to the ground in a hail of flying arms, legs and broken Spanish! Alyssa, already winded, finds herself getting mounted from above, Yarcia having the extra benefit of those bare fists and long fingernails just slapping the sh*t out of her and spitting insults down into her face!

Lynch, of course, does her best to fight back, flailing her own fists up at her assailant, trying to stun her back and get her off, and the two ladies go tumbling and shrieking over each other till the ring officials manage to rush into the ring and restore a semblance of order. It looks like Lynch has her next fight already lined up here, for sure, as Yanet makes a lasting rude gesture as she’s escorted away, leaving the Vixen to catch her breath on her butt near the ropes.

“Let me at the b*tch,” is all Alyssa says to reporters later on, when she finally calms her frazzled nerves. “If she wants an ass-kicking just like her boss, I’m ready to deliver.”
