Before: Ledford the best technical boxer produced by the “Baywatch” program since Bleeth, matches up with rugged Wuhrer in what should be a fine mesh of styles. Kari comes in the more notorious of the two, and has a little momentum following the Vanessa Angel knockout—bettors make her a slight favourite going in. Kari in black sports bra, red aerobics briefs, black wonder bra and panties for Brandy.

R1,2,.3,4—Kari fighting in spurts, but it’s all in desperation as Brandy leaps out to a commanding lead by scooping all four rounds. She’s doing it with physical advantage mostly—beating Kari to the jab, taking over the ring with excellent footwork, pushing Kari around in the clinches. Nevertheless—tactical highlights include a strict boxing-to-set-up-the-body attack—rounds often end with extensive beatings of Wuhrer’s belly as the blonde looks to take Kari’s wiry stems out of the later rounds. Excellent punch selection and execution by Brandy as she flashes a bewildering arsenal at Kari, and Wuhrer is often stung clean on the face as Brandy works to open up one serious punch in any flurry. After 4, Kari’s been shutout 3 times, spent minutes with her back o the ropes, and barely been able to touch Brandy in reponse as the blonde maintains an infuriating, arrogant demeanour.

R5: Blonde’s pace begins to slacken, and Wuhrer with a badly swelling left eye exacts retribution. Good stalking round for Kari as she forces Brandy into retreat, catching her for lusty lefts and rights to the flanks, and banging back that blonde head with uppercuts whenever brandy looks to smother. Plenty of fight left in this brunette as she stomps back to her corner, ready to get it on.

R6,7: Back to business for Brandy, who hands out two more shutout rounds in one of the most dominant performances in a long time. Wuhrer trying to shoot lead rights, but Brandy reads them, stepping back a heartbeat before, and countering with her own right hand with cracking accuracy. Excruciating body punching punctuates these exquisite counters, often banging Kari up onto her toes, teeth bared in grimace as she covers up. Brandy sends Kari to her corner looking more and more shopworn—while Ledford remains fresh, smug after the rounds.

R8: Even slugging erupts in the best two way slugging of the fight. Kari knows she’s behind, pressing, catching short right and left counters on her face as Brandy steps back and walks Wuhrer into punches that curl outside the guard. But Wuhrer’s gritty effort can’t be denied—she pounds it out of Brandy, starting and finishing most exchanges and I the final minute, the blonde cracks under pressure, Stepping around a woozy Ledford, Wuhrer cranks hooks to the waist, braking her girl down and setting her up for a beautiful downward chopping right on the cheek that sends Ledford down to all fours, Saved by the bell, a glassy eyed Brandy is led back to her corner as it’s Wuhrer’s time to smile.

R9: Kari comes to finish, but Brandy shows her heart, shaking off the brunette’s beating. Staying professional, slipping inside those long led power shots and countering mercilessly to the ribs, Wuhrer’s legs buckle as her early salvoes are all met with vicious strokes to her body and the brunette is hurt! Brandy takes over stays low, whacks the left repeatedly in behind Kari’s elbow, doubles it to Kari’s chin, and finishes off with clean right hands, all shoulder as Wuhrer melts to ropes. Wuhrer seated, hands loose at her face, is taken apart as Brandy rips to the body, comes back to the head—short lefts and rights and THIS FIGHT IS STOPPED! Brandy Ledford bounces away as the ref gathers up a broken Kari Wuhrer—TKO9 Brandy Ledford.

After: Ledford showed everything but one punch power in this near total dismantling of a proven warrior. 5 shutout rounds of 9 saw her cruise past a badly outclassed Wuhrer, and only Kari’s pride saved her from complete embarrassment with an heroic 8^th. “Sky’s the limit,” says a flushed and excited Ledford, “I proved that girls like Wuhrer need to step back when I enter the room.” Soundly thrashed Kari is unavailable for comment.
