Before; Phantom Menace of boxing matches finally comes off with the big winner Jantzen Athletic Wear regardless of what happens. Fight seems a mismatch except for Fishel’s heart and tenacity--Dani needs to come forward pressure Gina into fighting and not let Gershon get into a boxing groove. Easier said than done, but give Dani credit-=-she’s one of only credit--she’s one of only 3 champions of the 90’s to actually let Gina have a crack at the crown. Fishel in powder blue push up bra, teal trunks with navy polka dots. Gershon in white TIGHT spaghetti strap cotton tank top over black push up bra and panties. Gina coming to the ring with black cowboy hat an chaps accessories gets the crowd on her side with a raunchy ring entrance.

During R1: Gershon crossing Dani up early, choosing to body up and prevent Fishel from coming forward. Gershon with her left bicep against Dani’s face, steps back to rip a chopping right hand, snapping left hook into Fishel’s face, then bodies up again to shove Dani back. Fishel getting beaten by Gershon’s quick 2 fisted attack, and also getting shoved around the ring. Late in the round, Fishel putting her head down, manages to back Gershon off with pin wheeling ferocity, but Gina G pockets the points.

R2: This is the Gershon everyone expected. With Dani on her heels, Gina pokes and prods the quick double jab to the lips, and crosses with slashing right hands to open up Dani’s left eyebrow. Midway through the round, with Dani chugging forward to smother the one-two, Dani’s jaw and sending the champ reeling to the ropes. Incredibly Dani shakes it off and churns her way right back inside on Gershon as the crowd comes to its feet--appreciative of the wild action.

R3: Dani able to execute this round, bobbing low, stepping forward, coming over the top with looping right hands and hurling left hooks as she comes out of her crouch. Gina continues to molest and steer Dani with the jab, looking to spank the youngster’s face with the licking right hand. In the final minute, Gershon gets lazy, missing with lefts and rights over the top and Dani rises out of her crouch with that slinging left hook to the mouth. Gershon’s head torques to the side as she staggers back wide-eyed, and the bell sounds to save her from further abuse. Dani stamping her foot in mock annoyance at having missed an opportunity to test Gershon, goes back to her corner with a smile.

R4: Gershon back on her toes, circling on her toes, circling Dani putting 2 and 3 pesky jabs on the champ’s face before stinging her with that blistering right hand. Dani getting some good body work done in the middle minute, able to stop Gina’s movement and force the brunette to cinch, but down the stretch, Gershon able to stick and move to take the round.

R5: Gershon loading up, lands some hellacious downward arcing right hands midway through but Dani pockets the rounds with consistent work, cutting off the ring and bringing her fists to lay across Gina’s torso.

R6: Gershon flat footed, leaning in with Dani and not getting off as Fishel punishes her from hip to hip. Dani in a groove, digging her head into Gershon’s chest, turning her compact body into damaging left hooks to the waist as Gershon grimaces.

R7: Gina G letting Dani get inside, and Gershon just laying in with Fishel, taking punches, and pushing the little dynamo back by the shoulders. Dani relentless, resets outside, then bobs her way in, and lands satisfying smacking left hooks that have Gershon clinching in pain. Gina not moving, arm punching when she punches at all--and dani8 pulls ahead on all cards going into the 8th.

R8: Gina backhands the jab as she bounces backwards, then stops and rips Dani coming forward with the perfect right uppercut. Dani stopped in her tracks., legs trembling and Gershon gets back ion her bicycle, circling an potshot ting the champ from outside. Dani walking into punches, not moving her head as much as Gershon opens little cuts around Fishel’s eyes with stinging one-twos.

R9: Gershon getting serious, standing in with Dani, reaching down to welt Fishel’s sides with wide body shots, then using her left forearm shove to set up the clipping right uppercuts. Just a beat down early, as Fishel on her heels, is shoved and battered along the ropes. Gershon working Dani’ s head over, rides her left forearm o Fishel’s shoulder, whipping the right in on the youngster’s face and jaw line. Dani actually punching back in the final minute, but she’s taken a bad beating this round and staggers back to her corner for the break.

R10: Oh the damage done. Fishel with eyes closed, hands at her hips, sways uncertainly o9ut to meet Gershon and Gina G puts a Sugar Ray Robinson licking on tough little brawler. Dani windblown to the ropes, one hand on the rope to steady her as she covers up under Gina’s blistering flurries, Gina landing over and over, bludgeons Dani to one knee in the first minute, but the plucky champ won’t stay down, She falls in with Gina, clinching around the tall brunettes hips, but Gershon won’t have it, shucking the champ and continuing to rain punches down onto Fishel’s ruined face. Final bell tolls as Fishel, bent over at the waist, takes 3 open-palm left hands off her cheek as Gershon shows an Ali look late. Decision comes back unanimously in favour of Gina G as Fishel surrenders her title in its first defense.

After: Gershon coming on late to put Dani ion her place, but those expecting a shutout were bitterly disappointed.  Loads of East Coast money lost on the over-under as Fishel once again goes the distance against a favored foe. Rumours persist that Gina was knocked down in training camp by a left hook--and despite denials, Fishel’s success with the punch may have exposed a chink in the arm or. Nevertheless, Gibna gets a title and could be the girl to beat going into the millenium.
