Larue throbbing hot in Miami—selling out clubs wherever she fights, cheerfully handing out brutal beatdowns—she’s been the toast of the town ev3er since wailing Gena Lee Nolin at Atlantis. Righetti, the blonde hot on NORTH SHORE by way of THE O.C., was expected to be another in a long line of minor- league starlets to get rudely worked over by the daytime Latina, but Amanda showed a throwback spark to the Italian Golden Age—fighters like LaMotta, Lollobridgida, Graziano—in first withstanding Larue’s onslaught, then rolling her up for a stunning victory.

After a strong first saw Righetti back Eva up with heavy clubbing shots to the head and shoulders, the class of Larue made Amanda look awkward and amateurish almost the rest of the night. Eva just moved to either side on the ingénue, biting her jabs, cuffing her hooks, shoulder-bumping her outside, just easing Amanda into a slow roasting defeat. Righetti strained under the punishment, crossing her arms and leaning into punishment, trying to move her head but finding herself effortlessly racked by Larue’s clever-quick chopping combinations and spicy jabs. Larue would wobble Amanda’s buttocks with a dazzling array of punches, hurting the blonde in the second, mauling her in the fourth and bringing the crowd squealing to its feet with Righetti seemingly ready to go at the ropes. After placing a perfect counter right while backing up to the chin of Amanda in the fifth, Eva was on cruise control. So it was that the sixth, and quite possibly the best slugging round of the year exploded in an unsuspecting pro-Larue crowd.

Eva came out shelling with quick one-twos, drop-chopping the right in behind the backhand left, then licking the rising hook to the lips, doubling it to swat the ear and leaning into the short right hand. Righetti also taking flush off her face seemed a battered beauty, but hurt as she was, she rolled her torso, crossed her arms and waited for her opportunity, In the second minute—punching out of the crouch, Righetti was able to find Larue’s chin as Eva proved too intent on the finish and blonde startled brunette off the ropes to bring the brawl back to midring. With the crowd screaming on its feet, Amanda Righetti began to rain down thudding rights and lefts out of the ol’ Marciano torso roll, finally ending Larue’s night with a Neanderthal left on the chin. Eva Larue had been knocked out, stretched long on her back and Amanda Righetti had arrived with a vengeance. As plastic cups littered the ring—Righetti had only snarls and defiance for the crowd—sure sign of a tough-minded road warrior who doesn’t punk under pressure.
