(Results: Lookout!, Words: Caspian)

3. Luisana Lopilato vs Adria Arjona II

Luisana:

(34, 5’6, 115, 37:15 FCBA, VIXENs)

Adria:
(29, 5'7, 2:1 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
Lots on the line as Luisana Lopilato looks to end the year with a win, and more importantly, avenge an early loss that shouldn’t have happened. At least, according to her:

“I say this very rarely, but I believe I should have won that fight with Adria back in April. The referee stopped the match way too soon. I could have gone another ten rounds if need be,” Luisa says to reporters with a confident smile on her face. “Adria - no offense to her - has made some waves since then, but I think I’m ready to take her on again, and win.”

Adria, of course, coming off a recent loss to rising starlet, Anya Taylor-Joy, but to be honest, that doesn’t really take anything away from her resume.

“Luisana can talk all she wants, but I’m not the one who lost my last fight to Rachel McAdams. Oh, let me emphasise: lost to McAdams twice in a row. Yes, my last fight was a disappointment, but Anya is going to be Bantamweight champion one day. Lopilato, on the other hand, has only had ONE title fight in her entire career. And she had to beg for it. So, no, I’m not worried.”

Bad talk leads to bad behaviour, and when both ladies meet moments later at the podium for the official staredown, plenty of pushing and shoving erupts in kind, with Luisa’s nerves clearly getting the better of her as she makes a daring lunge for Adria’s face, but falls short. The Puerto Rican actress easily swerves out of the way of the slap, before both fight teams leap in to intervene. Luisa’s still cursing and swearing her way backstage, whereas Adria is laughing her way to the bank.

Hours later, we’re back in the arena and ready to kickstart ten rounds of Bantamweight action! Luisana Lopilato is in one corner, wearing a simple but sultry black bra and briefs set, her blonde hair braided as she bounces excitedly on both feet, raising those white gloves high to the cheers. In the other corner, Adria has gone for a lavender bikini, her long brown hair tied into a neat ponytail out back as she raises red gloves to the sound of her name. Referee signals for the bell and HERE WE GO!

ROUND 1:
Adria with the early aggression, moving in fast and firing punches while weaving left, right and under. She’s trying to out-punch and outpower Luisa just like last time, but too bad that her punches are either hitting the gloves or the air, as Luisa also employs excellent defensive posturing. The blonde girl is playing it safe this time, bobbing her head to the side to avoid punches before rocking Adria back with the occasional hook across the chin. Adria shakes it off, returning fire with her own hooks slammed into the side of Lopilato’s head, dazzling her badly at one point as the two South American girls take turns pushing each other to the side. But back in they go, chugging at the body and then covering up again to circle. Bell rings and it’s a close round indeed, but we think Adria might take it close!

ROUND 2:
Luisana is moving faster, but not forwards. She deflects and defends against more of Arjona’s early combos, looking hella secure in her defensive position. In turn, she’s landing more stiff blows off Adria’s lips or body, with Luisa powering another right cross into the chest in the middle minute, which sends Adria grunting backwards. Adria just can’t get past Luisa’s defences, and she resorts to more jab combos to pound upon that guard, hoping it’s enough to break Luisana apart like she did last time. End of the round and Luisa doesn’t come out of this brawl unscathed, taking a sneaky one-two combo to the nose just as she tries to go in for the kill with an overhand swing to the head, which fails.

ROUND 3:
Adria tries even MORE aggression, playing possum in the opening seconds but then CHARGING at the blonde Vixen, hoping to wipe the floor with Luisana even earlier. Luisa gasps as the rapid combos slam into her guard, then her body, and she’s clearly being pushed backwards from the sudden onslaught. But she soon stays cool, blocking punches from her head, before again returning the favour with a grazing hook off Adria’s chin, which throws her head to the side, before a sudden left-right flurry to the body has the Puerto Rican bent over and primed for a final uppercut to the chin!! AND THERE SHE GOES!! ARJONA’S REELING BACKWARDS, SEEING STARS!! HERE COMES LUISANA! Uncharacteristic aggression from the Vixen, who charges in and POUNDS away on her body and arms! Adria’s getting BUTT-hurt on the ropes, groaning as she takes another left-right hook across the face, before an uppercut LIFTS her head into the sky! DOWN ADRIA GOES!! All that abuse is just too much for the brunette, who collapses down to her side by the ropes! It’s a flash KO for Luisana Lopilato, with the referee taking one look at Adria’s stone-cold expression and waves his arms in the air! This rematch is OVER!

Official Decision: Luisana Lopilato defeats Adria Arjona via KO3!

AFTER:

A BIG win and even bigger redemption for the Argentine Assassin, who ends this rematch three rounds earlier than her previous encounter with the dangerous Arjona. Luisana throws up one of her hands but remains calm in the immediate aftermath, smiling and waving to the crowds but looking more serious than usual.

“I can do anything as long if I put my mind to it,” Luisa addresses the crowds later. “People said I couldn’t beat Adria after my poor showing in April. Well, I put her down in three rounds. Next time we meet, I’ll do it in two.”

Some cockiness from the Vixen, who ends the year with a mixed bag of results. If her progress is any indicator, however, Luisa did score herself a title opportunity this year; plus she defeated some dangerous foes like Olivia Culpo and Meghan Markle, before falling to stalwarts Thorne and Rachel McAdams. Who knows? Perhaps 2022 will be kinder!
