Before: Network rivalry spills over to the FCBA rings: Kaley's glad about that. "Yeah, it's time," Cuoco says in prefight. "We're on the same network - back to back comedies in prime time - there's been talk about this fight for a while now. Cobie needs to be sorted out - I know she's talking more than she should, and it's time we got in there and got things straight."

Smulders agrees - she's a girl who's been biding her time for Kaley. "Cuoco had a great run last year," Cobie admits at podium, "but I think she got exposed by Biel a little. That was a bad beating, and Jess made Kaley quit a bit, in my opinion. Once a girl shows quit, other girls want to get at her, you know? That's how I feel. Kaley's lost a step and it's time for me to speed on past her."

Kaley in black bikini; hair in messy ponytail; white gloves. Cobie in green bikini; black gloves.

During R1: Kaley circling, feinting, testing her foe's reflexes. Cobie elbows-in, dukes up: conventional stance suits her angular frame as she steps Kaley down, locating her with hammer-drop style left jabs. Kaley leggy, not looking to engage: she attempts a couple of bursting combinations, coming up short as she juuuust misjudges distance a smidge. Smulders the more constructive - taking canvas away from an elusive Cuoco: judges like Cobie in the first.

R2: Cobie pressing behind the jab. Conventional look from Smulders - stepping in with her poke, driving at Kaley. Cuoco fading back, sliding to the side, turning at the ropes to keep her back clear. All Smulders for two minutes - she's walking Kaley down, being the aggressor: Cuoco changes that in a thunderclap. Down the stretch, Kaley feints, waves a left hand low to the body - then hops in hooking-to-chin, catching Cobie cold. Smulders smote - legs locking up: Kaley's body carries into rigid brunette off the crunching short-hook, pushing Cobie to her buns. Smulders blinking, sitting up all tingly: shocking speed and sock of Kaley steals a methodical Smulders round late.

R3: Kaley baiting traps - sliding back and luring Cobie in, then counter-pouncing at her, leading with hooks or right hands. Cuoco intent on discouraging Cobie's jab - timing it, counterng it: by the minute mark, Smulders is gun-shy, keeping her hands close to her temples, just walking in on Kaley. Mission accomplished - Kaley starts potshotting in earnest - walking Cobie in, stroking her fresh licks to waist, ribs or ears - pivoting around her as Smulders dips forward behind her mitts. Single-stroke potshots give way to more sustained output from Kaley late: final minute sees her move in shoulder to shoulder, working the Smulders midsection with a snappy, snatching left hook in tight. Bell: Smulders grimacing, well-touched through 3.

R4: Similar patterns from Kaley. She's mobile early, focused on breaking down and taking away Cobie's jab. Once Smulders stops throwing poke - Kaley lures brunette into swatting counters - keying on the flanks and skull with whiplashing power. When Cobie's cringing and gunshy - Kaley's safe to push-in, bump shoulders and get to digging. Cuoco just vicious inside with her hook - weight on left (front) foot as she bounces mitt off meat - really spanking Cobie tart. Smulders chopping back at Kaley - brunette generating good compact hacks with her elbows-in delivery - but Cuoco's sleek, supple power clearly carrying the minutes.

R5: Cobie grimacing, bunching up as Kaley hooks brunette waist: Cuoco lingering out over her left foot, pivoting a little to her right while ripping snappy left hands up into Smulders' torso. Cobie ashen-faced, desperate: she slaps a hook across Kaley's cheek; flips a left uppercut to just miss weaving Kaley's chin. Cuoco punching-with, bending her torso and sweeping limber punches onto Cobie from bewildering angles: conventional brunette catching clout, getting out-hit in the shoot-out. Cobie stumbling by the minute mark: Kaley's cuffing and clouting her ears, knocking Smulders off balance. Kaley eases right (back) foot back while crouching forward, dangling her fists down at her knees - she's daring Cobie to get off. Smulders pokes out the jab, tries a chopping right: Kaley weaving the work in her crouch, bobbing, then lunging up into Cobie's chin with a surging left uppercut from the knees. Cobie ROCKED - face punched over her left shoulder as Kaley pivots-left, carrying herself past Smulders right flank. Cobie disoriented, wobbly butt - she's blundering around - unaware Kaley's now behind her. Cuoco with a wide, looping right, punches Cobie on her right cheek from behind, startling Smulders, panicking her into a deep defensive crouch. Kaley circles to her left, crossing Cobie's front, depositing a whippy right hand thick in above brunette left hip. Kaley so supple in her stance - arms relaxed, hands low: she scrapes a left off the top of Cobie's overhanging head, then scrapes a right uppercut off brunette hairline. Smulders peeking up from her crouch, straightens to punch...and eats another gorgeous left uppercut flush to chin. Cobie rocked back over her heels - sent sprawling to her back: she's a ragged beauty all stretched out, trying to roll over onto her right side as her body quits on her. Kaley struts past, smirking in satisfaction: KO5 Cuoco as Smulders can't struggle up off her back.

After: Decisive victory shows how far Kaley has come: she easily handles a pretty good brunette up-and-comer tonight. Smulders heart-broken: really discouraged by Kaley's combination of power and class with the boxing gloves.

"I sized her up pretty quickly," Kaley says in postfight. "She's got a good jab, but she's too reliant upon it: once I took that away from her, she really didn't know how to put her punches together. Inside, I was stronger - her body's firm, but rigid - I don't think she likes it downstairs too much. Took her apart - tore her up - maybe even, dare I say - made her quit a bit? Yes, I think so."
