BEFORE: "Oh - HUGE respect for Ali Landry - no question," Righetti says in prefight. "She proved she's still an elite threat by taking the title again...but here's the thing: those are MY belts she's wearing, and I'm not done with them. She accepted a ton - a TON - of punishment against Regan, and that's definitely a different style for Ali - one that's going to be difficult to execute against me. So I'm definitely here to strip Ali, not to worship her - but I'm not going to talk a bunch of trash either because the lady is frakkin' regal in my books." Landry aloof - back on top but with a huge target on her back: she knows she's picking out the toughest nut of 'em all for her first defence. "Basically, I gain nothing by avoiding Amanda," Ali says in answer to speculation that she might've milked the title before facing a division titan. "I'm in the hall of fame. I'm in the 100 fight club. I've worn so many belts I'm practically gold-plated. So I'm in it for the Big Moment, the dramatic fights that people want to see most, and when I've got the belts, what people want to know is: 'can she hold them against Righetti'. Well - that's what we all want to know, so I was more than eager to get it done." Amanda in lavender thin-strap yoga top; sporty bikini bottoms in a festival of colours and geometric prints; black gloves; long red hair in low ponytail. Landry in gold bikini; black gloves; hair in loose tangly curls.

During R1: Midring range-finding...Righetti jamming a right hand over Ali's outstretched left...punch behind the ear sends champ staggering to her right. Landry hits ropes woozy, blinking: she forms earmuff as Amanda wades in. Thick, strapping whacks applied to the problem of Ali's waist: Righetti swaying side to side, pulling vicious sidearm wallops into brunette paunch, bunching Landry up early. Ali clinching, laying back on ropes with Righetti's weight on her chest...ref issues break...Ali sliding to her right along ropes as Amanda tracks her via jabs in the mouth. HARD sidearm right shakes Landry's left flank: she forms earmuff, stoops forward - Righetti squaring away, knuckling up at brunette guard before getting back to business downstairs. That's the way of the first couple minutes - Righetti shadowing Ali along the apron, dipping and swaying side to side while slopping on body-harm. Down the stretch, Ali finally erupts: left hook off right foot; right uppercut off right foot - both clean counters on a startled Amanda Righetti's chin. Right hand jamming jaw as Amanda's reaching to clinch; clubbing left on jaw over Amanda's outstretched right...Big Rigs stumbling to her left, eyes wide. Landry hurling lefts, clobbering Amanda upside the head - driving her ropeside at the stumble. Ali pouring in - ripping the right/left to body - pushing Amanda upright - feeding her an extra right cross across the face: Righetti's head pitching back over top rope as strong legs give a shimmy. Bell: Ali teeth bared, pushing her left in Amanda's chest while pouring on finishing rights...ref bodies seething champ off as redhead swoons in shock, coughing up the round to a late Landry surge.

R2: Ali sensing opportunity - doubling the jab to knock at Righetti's mouth - ducking forward and looking for overhand rights out of the crouch. Amanda retreating, long arms outstretched to block...taking the edge off Landry's haymakers. Not much back from Righetti - she's circling, using her legs, regrouping: Ali stalking bigger woman - scoring some driving straight right hands to the midsection after selling fake-punches up top.

R3: Ali still fighting an aggressive, go-forward fight - spooking Righetti into hasty retreats as punches whistle past Amanda's mouth. Ali mixing it up - touching the jab forehead and belly; hunting chin with right hands, but just as likely to switch up and drive down into midsection. Righetti backing up, arms outstretched...but when she does form earmuff and lean in, Landry's leaning close, hooking in snug behind right elbow CHUP! Landry's third straight round: challenger taking it all well, but clearly out of rhythm, having a hard time reading/anticipating her clever foe.

R4: Righetti determined to hook Landry's body - redhead stepping in close, getting her back into tough, thumping leather. Ali grunting on receipt, but quick-twitching left/rights across Amanda's chin in receipt...champ making a point of answering every Righetti initiative. Midway through, Amanda spitting jabs while backing up...Ali weaving in her crouch, steps forward, times a beauty right hand onto Amanda's chin and RIGHETTI'S HURT! Amanda's back (right) leg spasms out of position...she's stumbling around hurt, hands up, but taking swatting left hands as Ali attacks from off redhead left shoulder. Righetti driven to ropes: she organizes sturdy peek-a-boo, leaning forward off ropes: Landry squares away, investigates the beef in behind either elbow, then helps herself to Amanda's overhanging bra-ledge via tuff, scooping right uppercuts. Bell: Righetti visibly dazed...catching a beating from Ali Landry through 4.

R5: Righetti gets the jab out, finally stalling Ali's forward momentum. Landry covers up earmuff: Righetti commits low - swinging a fat sidearm roundhouse LOUD across Ali's waist. Cringe-and-grimace from Landry...she backs away: Righetti walks her down jabbing, pushes her against ropes, starts strappin' the body big free-swinging lefts and rights. Bad spot for Ali - she tries to clinch: Righetti rag-doll pushes her against ropes and gets back to the midsection. Ali crouches down to take her belly away: Righetti widens arc, beating the champ upon her hips/flanks. Settles into a Righetti processing session: she'll lower a shoulder to get underneath Ali, then body her upright, deploying a steady beat of fists against Landry's lush torso. Bell to bell beating leaves Ali open-mouthed, disheveled: Righetti finally getting traction in the fifth round!

R6: Righetti suppresses Ali via the jab, steadily moving Landry to ropes. Ali sets up pocket - rotating torso - keeping hands up - staying alert. Righetti sees Landry's organized...leads to cagey cat-and-mouse as Amanda looks to hammer the body, then cover up as Ali's timing sneaky counters. Righetti pushing on Ali, making her take weight: Landry patient, taking the burden of weight, then snatching back hot-swipe punches at very close range. Hard grinding action goes Righetti's way, but Ali very competitive/dangerous off the ropes.

R7: Landry mouthbreathing, trailing a broken wing to lure Righetti to ropes: Amanda lays siege as Ali sets up pocket. Simple pounding of Landry's golden flanks - Righetti pushing on Ali, bouncing mitts off meat: good thumping stuff. Ali visibly shaking when smote, but staying tuff, composed. Landry snatching back little left uppercuts at Righetti's sternum - catching her tuff, then covering up: Amanda willing to take the punch to maintain pressre. Final minute, Ali ducks low under a Righetti left, answers back a SNUG left uppercut to solar plexus: Amanda bunches up, stops working. Ali quick-twitches a short right clean across Righetti's chin, stepping forward as Amanda's tottering backward...Landry able to mount walking barrage of lefts and rights, tagging and re-tagging Amanda's chin as Big Rig's stumbling backward and RIGHETTI GOES DOWN! Amanda crashing to her back stunned and shellshocked - crowd roaring to it's feet as Ali jogs to neutral corner. Righetti groaning, rolling over right hip - standing, but pitching forward all spasmy face-first to ropes...she pulls herself upright, blinking and lifting her hands but the REF WAVES IT OFF! Good Lord - TKO7 Ali Landry as underdog champ turns back favoured young challenger.

After: Righetti punched groggy, but protesting the stoppage...meanwhile, Ali's strutting the ring hands held high: Landry's just banged out one of the highlight moments of her long, distinguished career. "I just beat the two best young fighters in the division - took and kept the belts in the process," Landry sums up in postfight. "I'm the best fighter in boxing - again - end of story!"
