UD10 for the winner and NEW Middleweight Champion Katherine Heigl

Throughout prefight sessions and even at ringside, an enraged Brooke Shields would have to be restrained and held at bay—only the latest victim in the swarmy world of big time boxing politics. Out of the blue, welterweight Katherine Heigl was granted an audience with Ms. Kidman—Nicole looking to pad her already fat title run with an easy touch before the inevitable showdown with Shields. As so often happens in boxing—Heigl, though chunky through the buttocks and belly at this weight, took after Nicole with easily Kat’s most relentless performance to date. Round after round, El Gatto Grande took  it to the champ, pressing her against the ropes, swinging lusty at the ribcage both hands, shouldering and forearming her girl back into the strands. Kidman’s trademark erect boxing would never get on track, and yet she proved a stalwart foe toe to toe—many times the women indulged in mutually destructive exchanges from cross armed stances, rocking each other with shattering lefts and rights at point blank range. In the end—Kidman just couldn’t fight her fight and couldn’t win Katherine’s—Heigl breaking down in tears of jubilation at the feel of hard gold around her waist for the first time in her career. Storm cloud on the horizon: an enraged Brooke Shields, attempting to get into the post-fight ring throng to voice her challenge to winner.
