Before: High noon for Neve - she’s got to meet the bully by the bike racks after school and there’s no tomorrow. “I’ve been pushing for this fight since I got here,” crows Jen in prefight. “Neve’s never wanted it, but there’s nowhere left for her to run. This is gonna be the best - me all over Neve, doing what I want, taking what I want - there won’t be a square inch of this tart not dressed up before I take her out.” Campbell looking to address the crowd, but as she starts to speak - Jenny jumps out of her seat with a double bicep pump and shite eating grin. Neve clears her throat, opens her mouth and Jenny preempts her with a “BO-RINGGGG!” loud into mike. On and on like this - Neve more one to do her talking with her mitts anyway. Cerulean blue bikini, Neve - black bikini Jenny, laced between the cups and at her hips.

During R1. Girls step-to, hands and heads in close - Jenny snap-hooks waist, snap-hooks a little lower, then really partakes of the trunk - ref immediately breaks the fighters, waggles a finger in Jenny’s face and warns her that stuff won’t be tolerated. McCarthy pushing her way back in with a sneer - heads and hands all together as girls lean back in, Jen goes right at her girl. Steady, snapping work from Jen - thick left hooks in behind Neve’s right elbow, snatching rights behind the left elbow and nasty right uppercuts to pick Neve’s head up. Campbell laying in, getting rocked - she’s right in front of Jenny - seemingly stunned by the constant, snatching leather. Great punching form from Mac - bringing her hands back to the high guard, walking Campbell down and punishing her to the bell. Jenny Mac lets Neve hear it at the bell - blonde pumped at a strong opening round.

R2: Neve joins the party. Campbell can't afford to let Jenny beat her on the inside, she muscles up, stands her ground and gives McCarthy hell to the ribcage. Both girls leaning forward behind high guards, using them to budge and bump, then snatching at the waist, behind either elbow. Jenny with little swinging whip action as she swipes wide at her girl - Neve more apt to bend her knees and dig straight into blonde midsection, or dip the shoulder to rip the uppercut. Campbell punching short, inside blonde rips - Neve curling rising lefts and rights snug to Jenny’s jugs late to back the blonde up and take the round.

R3: Sloppy round as Jenny gets “creative”. Messy clinches - Jenny pulling Neve’s head down in front chokes, sticking her tongue out to the audience, nodding her head. Jenny arm locking Neve up behind the elbows, trying to pop the joints. Ref constantly breaking the fighters, issuing a steady stream of warnings to an indifferent blonde - she just pushes her way past the man and gets back on. Not much offense from Neve, but good interior defense - she’s standing in the pocket, blocking body shots with her elbows, head shots on her guard, bending at the waist and rolling her torso. McCarthy the busy, active fighter takes the round, but can’t really hurt Neve this round.

R4: Good thick contact in Jenny Mac’s belly early as Neve stays low, shoots a straight right hand from the guard position into the paunch, bobs down/up to power the hook against Jenny’s stout gut - brunette staying well covered up as she brings her hands back sharp. Mac lowering her left hand to use the left shoulder on Neve, pushing up with it, roping the limber left hook downstairs, turning on tight, clouting rights up top - good banging two wayt as the girls stand in a phone booth and take their turns. After the bell - Jenny helps herself to a cheap right hand on Neve’s mouth - Campbell lunging in response as the ref jumps in to restore order.

R5: Delay at the open as Jenny dips and rips a blatant, bloodcurdling low blow square to Neve’s trunks - Campbell turning away, holding herself - she’s given time to compose herself as the ref reads Jenny the riot act. Grin wiped off Mac’s face as Neve goes to the body like a woman possessed - snapping, snatching rips in behind the elbows, chopping into Jenny’s waist and stooping her forward - blonde grunting in pain, hands up at her temples as she is temporarily frozen by Neve’s fury. Campbell shoots her wad, lays in hands and head forward - Jenny takes over late - picking Neve up with that saucy right uppercut, putting the hook on hop and getting brunette stepping funky. Neve shook up, wandering to her left - Jenny catches her again and again with a wide swinging hook on the hop as she bounds forward. Campbell hits the ropes hurt, but poised - bending at the waist, dukes up, bobbing and weaving punches as Mac bangs away two-fisted, teeth bared.

R6: Neve patiently gets after it - she’s in that high, tight guard, leaning forward into Jenny’s wide swings, often taking the sting off them as Mac can’t extend. Campbell dutifully working on the inside - letting Jenny get off, then touching her up in the lungs, dipping and digging to the waist, dropping her hands straight down from the guard to pound jug with the side of either fist. McCarthy gritting her teeth, getting backed up and worked over - final minute sees her on the ropes and taking a rude beating up and down her flanks. Campbell going bell to bell, really wearing out the McCarthy midsection—blonde’s mouth breathing, looking a little ramshackle, not to mention shocked, at the bell.

R7: Neve moving her head beautifully, hands up high as she ducks and rolls under Jenny’s punches - blonde getting wild as she gets frustrated, stepping back as she gets wild to get more room for haymakers - it’s all playing into Campbell’s hands. Neve getting her distance, keeping her punches blunt. Campbell targeting the right side of Jen’s body with a steady, snatching hook, then picking the blonde up as she breaks down with opportunistic uppercuts. At the bell - Neve’s the professional: good balance, short punches, good defense. Jenny’s lost her form in comparison - ragged on defence, wide with opunches and breathing hard with wasted energy. Girls exchange glares - Neve’s cool and confident - Jenny’s hot with pain and rage.

R8: All Neve Campbell. First minute - Neve bobs and weaves inside Jenny’s loopers, beats her girl to the body with counters up underneath. Second minute, McCarthy’s back on the ropes, hands up around her temples and Neve breaks out the crow bar - really squaring away and punishing the beauty in front of her. Campbell jamming her head in between Jenny’s mitts, palming her guard out of the way, then sampling the wares: belly, ribs and tits are cudgeled - Neve just pushing and romping, busy with her hands. Steady abuse builds on Jenny until a series of bob-and-clout right hands on her breasts draws a woozy cry of protest from the blonde - Neve just working out of her crouch, smiles grimly at the break-down. Final minute - beating has Jenny swooning - head’s jerking and lolling from Neve’s uppercuts and hooks, hips are shunting back into the ropes as Campbell beats to the body - its Neve on Jenny and there’s nothing McCarthy can do. Series of rising, lusty rights and lefts across the jugs have Jenny spitting her mouthpiece out in pain - she tries to drape her arms around Neve’s shoulders, but the brunette slugs through the clinch! Neve stepping back in good order, letting Jenny slump forward into the punches - tight lefts and rights picking up jug, clipping chin as Campbell rotates her shoulders and JENNY GOES DOWN! McCarthy on her stomach, body shuddering as she sobs, unable to command her legs - she can’t beat the count! KO8 Neve Campbell!

After: Neve feted by her corner in the immediate aftermath - all the tough losses, the hard nights she had this year washed away in a single moment of triumph. Close, back and forth fight steadily became Neve’s night as her discipline and relentlessness clearly had her rival unsettled. Jenny started with nice tight punching, but progressed to desperation winging and never looked right backing up under pressure. Stellar win for Neve and only Samdog can tell us what happens next.
