Before: Undercard of Cindy Crawford/Debra McMichael. Margulies not as classy as Unger, but brunette has a rep for durability and heart that might be more useful against deb. Unger taking the fights she can--at least Julianne shows no intimidation whatsoever, White sports bra, light blue adidas terrycloth trunks, ponytail, black sports bra, red adidas, curls in tight bun Margulies.

R1: Unger mounting slashing attacks on Margulies’ high cheekbones and eyes this round, working off the jab to land countless straight right hands--Julianna wobbled repeatedly bas she fields blows flush on her face., Give her credit--Margulies takes it and keeps coming--but Unger pitches the power punching shutout to start.

R2: Unger still getting off, still the boss as she steps left, pops stiff jabs and lays in with cracking right hands for which there seems no defense. Margulies sullen, keeping her gloves at her lips as she catches--after 2 her eyes are swelling badly and she does little more than follow Deborah around the ring.

R3: Perfection continues as Unger uses a quick 2 or 3 jabs to open Julianna up, then scores with the biting right hand as Margulies struggles to stay square. Julianna going  wobbly butt as she braces for punches. Unger lighting her up at will with front page news type combinations. Towards the end, accumulation builds--Margulies beginning to stagger--Deb puts her down with a quick left/right on the chin--stepping away as Julianna takes a knee.

R4: Unger arm weary--Margulies still there although shopworn. Julianna gets in her licks---walking Deb down, reaching with the right then coming the left uppercut into Deb’s ribs, following with a thumping right to the body when possible. Final minute--Unger starting to break down, looks to hold on to the bell.

R5: Julianna continues to wear away on her blonde foe--fight slows midring as the girls fight shoulder to shoulder, trading lefts to the body, each staying tight and professional, guards up. In the dying seconds of the round Unger steals it with a sneaking, licking left across Julianna’s solar plexus which brings the brunettes hands down in a gurgle. Bell saves Margulies as Unger looks hungry.

R6: Deb pitching her most brutal round of dominance yet, gets on top of Julianna and pounds her for most of the three minutes. Everything starts off the jab--Deb can pound it to Julianna’s face any time she wants. Hard hook to the eye bust it up early, while left uppercuts to the stomach hurt Margulies downstairs. Slashing right hands rip into Julianna’s face or spank her across the ribs as the fight carries along the ropes--Deb working, getting out, then moving back in for more abuse. At the bell--Unger slightly rattled that Julianna’s still up--Margulies helped to her cotner, answerrs questions quietly, but refuses to quit.

R7: More patient Unger, now counterpunching, falling off to her left, turning her shoulder and slipping punches as Margulies tries short left/rights. Midway through the round, Deb rings that single right hand potshot off Julianna’s jaw, stepping away as Margulies stumbles--Unger takes a round with selective power.

R8: Deb goes back on the lead, working off the jab, and soon breaks Margulies down. Heartbreaking to see punches land so cleanly to brave brunette’s face--by the final minute she is seated ropeside, standing up straight, trying to swat down the incoming--Unger scoring an impressive three punch combination at the bell turns Margulies head around with a stunning left hook.

R9: Unger’s shot her wad--wins the round with her legs and the stick--but shopworn Julianna looks like she’ll finish.

R10: Julianna Margulies takes the round coming forward as Unger content to circle, bounce away, stay out of trouble to take a wide decision. No acknowledgement from Unger at the bell as Julianna reaches to hug and is spurned midring.

After: Both girls solidifying their reputations--Unger for technical proficiency, Margulies for toughness as she takes all night and still has the juice to come forward at the end. Julianna tragically beaten about the brows, but Unger unable to get the stoppage despite a torrent of power punches throughout the fight.
