Before: Garth patching up her differences with Tech to fill out the side against Holmes. “That’s water under the bridge,” Jennie assures Tractorpull Magazine. “Jennifer Connelly and I had a little disagreement about how good she actually was a couple of years ago, but she’s proven herself to me and everyone else, and I’m fine with that. I have no problem coming in under the Tech banner to hammer a BSE associate. Kind of fun actually.” Jennie’s not Katie’s first choice—ingenues like Bynes and Trachtenberg initially proposed but unable to get sanctioned in time for St Barth’s—leaves Holmes with a tougher fight than she otherwise would have had. “I welcome it,” says plucky brunette of the challenge in front of her. “Jennie’s had a well-rounded blonde, but I think I’m ready to step up to a girl like Garth and take it to her. Jennie’s more experienced, but I’m anxious to show how I can’t wait to execute it.” Holmes in lemon yellow bikini, punching pigtails—Jennie in purple bra-style sport bikini.

During R1: Holmes: looks a little tight, legging stiffly clockwise, dukes up, thrusting out the jab while keeping her right near her mouth. Garth nice n’ easy, left hand low, right at her cheek, presenting her left shoulder—she’s coming forward but not pressing—patiently weaving the jab, leaning away from it, bending at her waist. Not a lot of serious contact—Holmes short with her stick or missing past either. Garth ear—Jennie not letting her hands go much, just getting comfortable with range, timing, and reflexes of her foe.

R2: Similar look—Jennie stalking warily. But not really pouring on the pressure—Katie dukes up, robotic step-and-jab to her left. Garth settles in, starts shooting the right hand down into Katie’s body, ducking low on follow through—just letting Holmes know tummy’s on the table now. Holmes rigid with concentration, still missing her shots, but mixing in the right hand at least behind the jab. Midway through—Jennie: head feint; slant right hand down on the sternum; deep bob under Katie’s pushy right; CRASHING HOOKK-OUT-THE-CROUCH!!! Ka-CHING connect bingo on the chin swivels Katie’s head—hands drop, body goes limp and HOLMES THUNDERS TO THE MAT! Katie stretched on her back, left foot twitching, eyelashes humming like bee’s wings—she’s SO run up. Katie can’t get off her back—Garth sashaying away all smiles the KO2 winner in devastating fashion.

After: Jennie G sets it up like a veteran, worrying Katie to the body, then cashing in on chin a picture-picture hook to put Holmes on a precautionary stretcher. “With this heat especially we want to be extra careful with Katie,” says a BSE spokesman, “This looks worse than it really is.” Holmes embarrassed—groggy and hurt, yes—but not wanting to be carted away like beef—she keeps trying to rise off the stretcher as attendants gently coax her to lie back down. Smirking supremacy from Cool-Hand Garth—even getting a high five and nod of approval from old rival Jennifer Connelly for a job well done. Tech up 2-Love, ‘Netium girls upbeat, chatty, smug in the ring: Jennifer O’Dell trying to rouse stunned BSE troops, clapping her hands sharply. Walking up and down the bench.
