Before: All the signs of an ugly mismatch--Niven by far the for muscular and dense physically--all Locklear has is her height which she doesn’t use all that well. Sparring on “Pensacola Wings of Gold” is the best in the business--Niven is sharp, especially against lanky bodies and is a purported murderous body puncher. Just goes to show--Locklear never would have taken a fight like this in the 80s. Grey draw string shorts, black sports bra for Heather, navy boy cut stretch short, spaghetti strap sports bra Barbara.

R1: Heather pawing with the left, but she’s pushing her punches, tentative. Excellent head movement ala Frazier from Babs as she bibs under the jab, twists her hips into shattering hooks to Heathers ribs and belly. Locklear hurting early, forced to the ropes--Barbara leaning in to palm Locklear back under her arms, pushing and slugging, really sinking in her punches to put a sick look of hurt on Heather’s face at the bell. Locklear staggering back to her corner as Niven is all smiles.

R2: Niven closing, bobbing in and snapping off the left hook, chopping straight right hand from the shoulder again mounts irresistible pressure. Locklear on her heels, tries to dance but she’s being shaken by Niven’s fists and chased around the ring, A series if straight lefts and rights rivets Heather ropeside leaving her dazed, and Niven able to square up, push off with her shoulder and crank hooks welts away at the willowy blonde until heather takes a knee. Locklear up at 9, but swooning and the referee waves it off as Niven lets out a squeal of delight. TKO2 Barbara Niven,

After: Sham fight designed to showcase Barbara, but she looks like the goods. Regular sparring with taller girls has given Niven tools to deal with her deficiencies--appears quick enough and strong enough to get inside and do damage. Questions about chin and stamina will have to wait for a real opponent as Locklear is battered, sacrificed in this one.
