Before: Sophie planting herself in Fortress Europe--Jewel crossing the Atlantic to liberate the welter belts from Marceau’s tyranny, or so the fight is billed. Kilcher a strong test who’s getting better each time out--fighters can’t just time the blonde’s right hand anymore. Sophie with some height and reach to work with--Jewel’s going to have o break her down an make Marceau fight, and it’s probably best to take the decision out of the judges’ hands. Jewel in teal bandeau bikini, slick ponytail--Sophia u purple beach volleyball bikini, messy ponytail.

During R1: Jewel with arms crossed, bobbing her way forward and unleashing murderous lefts and rights out of the crouch--Marceau nimbly dipping in under the blows, lifting counters from either side into Kilcher’s jugs ir chin then sliding away--Jewel getting touched up, but taking it well, As round progresses, Marceau content to dip under Jewel’s offering, come up with a clinch--leisurely wrapping her right arm around the blonde for a break with the points in the bag.

R2: Jewel continuing to press--Marceau either fading away behind calling card counters, or stepping inside to clinch--tough for Kilcher to find sort of rhythm. Midway through, Jewel really stepping it up, pumping lefts and rights but catching air as Marceau slides effortlessly away, NAILING a slinging right hook from her thigh as she fades back, AND JEWEL IS HURT! Kilcher never seeing the punch, lifts her mitts rocks Jewel’s head back and blonde crumbles sideways to the ropes as Marceau bats her along, Girls at the ropes--Marceau just bending into overhand lefts onto Jewel’s shiny face, pulling right hooks across Kilcher’s lips to reset AND THE REF JUMPS IN! fight is stopped--Jewel staggered, but bitterly protesting as Sophie turns and struts away--TKO2 Sophie Marceau.

After: Uproar in Paris as Jewel can’t believe the stoppage, replays show Sophie landing ruinous blows, especially with the left hand as Jewel appeared helpless--Kilcher claiming she was timing the champ for a devastating counter when the ref “saved” her from further abuse. “I was killing her,” says a dismissive Sophie Marceau, “The referee--he had no choice.”
