Gena Lee Nolin v Cassidy Freeman(Words: Sceej / Results: Lookout!)
FCBA Enquirer seeks out the Grand Wizard pre-fight for his thoughts on this one, the betting public in particular always interested in the thoughts of the Man in the Hat.
Wizard looks down and shakes his head a little, collecting thoughts before speaking, like he’s going to say something he’d rather not say? “Look … Nolin, she’s a legend, ok? Hall of Fame or not – a certified FCBA legend. And an absolute wrecking machine … in her prime! We had her at Front Street for a while and were glad to have her – but we would NOT let her spar with our girls – brought in fitness models for that. I didn’t need some great prospect’s confidence wrecked by a couple of minutes in the Nolin meat grinder. Thing is … Father Time and Mother Nature? Those two are undefeated. Gena Lee, it’s just that … she’s lost what … five of her last six? It’s maybe getting time where Sceej has to have ‘the talk’ with her. One man’s opinion, boys? Freeman beat her before – can’t see anything that’s changed since then! Course, I’ve been known to be wrong. ”
“Wrong? On a bet? When?” comes response from reporter.
“Good point … ” chuckles the Man in the Hat, “Good point!”
Fight night: Cassidy Freeman to ring first, wearing a green bikini and boots and silver gloves. Shoulder-length red hair wrapped in a thick bun at the back of her head. Accompanied by Lioness head trainer Claudia Schiffer. Sound system then erupts with Guns N Roses “Welcome to the Jungle” and here comes Big Bad Gena Lee … leopard print bikini and boots, red gloves. Accompanied by Sceej head trainer Scrubby McGee and his chief assistants, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam. Referee’s instructions include usual admonition “… I want a good clean fight …”. Is that a smirk out of Nolin?
Round 1: Women out of their respective corners, Freeman in classic upright stance of the boxer/puncher; Nolin in half crouch with left slung low and right tight to her chin. Freeman feints to head and jabs to older woman’s midriff. Nolin beckons her to ‘come on!” and Freeman obliges! Doubles the jab with authority, snapping the blonde head back and finishes combination with a thumping right hook to the body which draw a grunt. Gena Lee sweeps vicious right hand back but redhead able to skip back. Seeing an opponent backing up raises the Nolin bloodlust and she rushes opponent arms crossed under chin and bulls her to ropes. Blonde bangs left right to the body, pressing Cassidy back into the cables, but auburn beauty able to respond, twisting hips into an uppercut that clips blonde’s chin and causes her to stumble back. Bell rings and Nolin lunges at Freeman … Cassidy game to continue but ref between them quickly. Round to Freeman.
Round 2: Nolin out of corner tight lipped and determined. Paws with the jab, loses exchange of jabs with crisper punching redhead but lands big overhand right counter. Cassidy’s eyes go wide and knees shimmy and here comes Big Bad Gena Lee! Locks up in clinch and bulls younger woman to ropes, works hands free and pounds midriff – not blasts but thumping shots. Cassidy uses free hands to buffet sides of blonde’s head. Roar from crowd as redhead is gamely fighting her way off ropes but veteran Nolin gets her back to ref and pounds left to the groin, doubling Freeman over. Tess Valmore leaps to feet on press row screaming “FOUL! She hit her low!!!” Nolin bashes one across back of Freeman’s back at bell, which does draw warning from ref.
… and now its Tess Valmore and Gena Lee Nolin jawing at each other!!! Round has ended and Nolin is beckoning for Tess to step up. AND TESS IS LOOKING TO GET INTO RING!!! Colleague Smackey of Tractorpull trying to corral big blond reporter as Nolin smirks.
When commotion settles and tactics notwithstanding, it’s a big round for Gena Lee

Round 3: Claudia Schiffer icing Freeman crotch and neck between rounds but nothing putting out that fiery redhead temper. Nolin off stool and right at opponent and rebuffed with hard left right to forehead and jaw. Nolin lunges with counter right and Cassidy slips, wheels left and spanks blond with cuffing left hook to the temple. Gena Lee double jabs to midriff to back redhead up but gets rung up with a right hand lead. Nolin shakes head, stunned, and Cassidy double jabs to force her back – its page one from the book on fighting Nolin – she CANNOT fight backing up! Younger woman fires a left to chin, right to ribs, left to ribs and ends combination by bringing left up to toggle blond jaw. Its volume, rather than weight of shot and Nolin is overwhelmed - stumbling, pawing with the “don’t hit me anymore” left. Comeback round in shutout style for Cassidy Freeman!
Rounds 4-5: Page 2 from the book on fighting Nolin – when you got her hurt, finish! Don’t let her off the hook or you’ll regret it! Round four sees Nolin shaking off rough working over of prior round, fighting out of the crouch, slipping Freeman jab and banging body. Cassidy firing back but Gena Lee takes the round. In the fifth, Nolin ratchets up the pressure. Stalking, almost bullying Freeman now. Cassidy making stand and throwing back but can’t hold canvas. Round ends with redhead enduring a beating on the ropes, referee watching closely – possibly for a stoppage, possible for Nolin shenanigans. At bell, blonde forces eye contact and sneers, which draws a shove to shoulders from a still game Cassidy Freeman.
Round 6: Grim smile … Big Bad Gena Lee smells blood in the water. Out of corner looking to finish. Left hand dangling at thigh, right hand cocked. Freeman looking to establish distance with jab but Nolin at this point just walking through jab, looking for that one big shot … and she finds it! Cassidy Freeman feigns jab and puts her back into straight right hand that kisses the bad girl’s jaw flush! Ka-freakin’-boom!!! Nolin sprawls to canvas and crowd erupts. Cassidy Freeman to neutral corner, waiving gloved hand to lead cheers. Nolin gets to knee at five … eyes blinking all “what happened?” … at seven, she looks rise but legs give way and she is sitting center ring. One more effort to get up and she pitches forward as ref makes it official “… 8 … 9 … 10 … yer out!”
Winner by knockout in the 6th with a one stroke thunderbolt – Cassidy Freeman!
