Alexis Ren versus Anllela Sagra (Queen of the Ice Hotel Title)
(Words: VIXENS / Results: Lookout!)

Alexis:
(22, 5’8, 20:5 FCBA, VIXENs)

Anllela:
(25, 5’9, 12:1 FCBA, Holloway Boxing)

BEFORE:
The stage is set for one hell of a rematch: Alexis Ren challenging the Ice Queen herself, and hoping a second effort will be enough to dethrone Anllela Sagra for good.

We’re of course coming to you LIVE via tele-broadcast from the Ice Hotel itself: it’s a ring almost frozen in time with the apron padded with snow all around. Picture the castle from the movie Frozen and you get a good sense of the setting, except for that raised four-pillared ring made of ice crystals and other chilly goodness surrounding the arena.

Alexis making her entrance first from one side of the special venue, which is devoid of an audience, we might add, leaving these two women alone to settle their differences. The Vixen’s dressed in a golden bikini, but under a thick fur coat for protection against the elements.

Anllela proudly entering from the opposite door, this fight marking her fourth defence of the Ice Hotel crown to date. She’s wearing her own royal blue bikini that’s far too small for the proportions of her body, her many years of training and fitness far eclipsing anything we’ve seen thus far in the FCBA.

Ren’s surely got her work cut out for her, hoping to do better than her KO7 loss to Sagra back in 2017. Looks like Sagra ain’t the one who appears worried here as she paces in her own corner with a sly smirk on her face, knowing that she’s clearly the favourite to win again this time. Ren eyeing her suspiciously, that cockiness and bravado strangely missing from her pre-fight antics, as she focuses on taking this title fight seriously for once.

Referee rings the bell and signals the for the start of this contest. HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action, for the Queen of the Ice Hotel championship!

ROUND 1:
The cold cuts through the bones, doesn't it? It makes the muscles all cramped out and that might explain the slow start to this contest. Little surprise that Alexis Ren is playing her cards close to her chest, using her long legs to keep distance. We all remember how well her last outing went, and this time, hopefully she's wiser than to stand and bang with Sagra. If it's any possible, Sagra looking even fitter and more like a goddess day by day. She's coming forward like a tank, already firing deadly punches at Ren’s head, hoping to take her off her feet in the very first round. But no dice, with few shots actually landing from either side in the first two minutes. Suddenly, though, in the final portion, Ren shoots consecutive jabs in succession, and I suppose the sudden aggression surprises Anllela somewhat, to the extent that the Colombian has trouble shifting into defensive mode and gets her face peppered all over. Not like it did anything else but piss her off, mind you. But Ren manages to steal the round in this way, and looking mighty pleased with herself at the same time.

ROUND 2:
The Ice Queen not liking that fact one bit. She was prepared for Ren-antics but one must be joking if we say that anyone can predict what Alexis Ren will do or won’t do in the ring. Second round however and it ain't as easy to fool the champion again. Sagra coming on even stronger, punching straight hands whilst moving at greater speeds. You can almost see the perspiration dripping off Alexis’ forehead as she focuses all her energies on not getting hit, weaving and jumping back each time Sagra lunges at her. But she can only avoid them for so long. Sagra throwing a feint in the last minute, forcing Ren to go right when she should be going left. BLAST of a backhand crashes into the face as it swivels Alexis about on her feet. Ouch! Ren didn't see that one coming! She's almost sent down to her knees but thankfully has the ropes to cushion the embarrassment. And what an embarrassment it is! If one lucky punch is all it will take to win this match, we're seriously worried about the Vixen's future for the remaining rounds.

ROUND 3:
Not a great round for the challenger as Sagra uses her as punching bag, and then some. Alexis back to getting out of harm's way but ends up being overly cautious. She can be almost considered running scared as she keeps to the peripheral ropes, leaping out of the way the moment Sagra takes a step near to her. Not a great sign that you're behaving this way if it’s only the third round. Sagra brimming with confidence in her own power but still struggling to land her punches on the slippery girl. Like it or not, Ren makes up for her lack of bulk with improved agility. Sagra lands some signature hits into the blonde’s forearms, but has to fall back on her lighter jabbing skills throughout, taking the round exclusively but at the same time failing to put Ren down for the count just yet.

ROUND 4:
Alexis recovering enough to circle and hit, before jumping out of the way and finding another sweet spot to exploit. This hit and run tactic is receiving loud growls of frustration from Sagra, who would much rather like to punch Alexis out in one heartbeat than try and sink her teeth slowly into her. In between the swinging, Alexis planting more leather into the Colombian’s face, even targeting those all-too-famous abs that she likes to flaunt on social media. FINALLY the Vixen’s getting some of her own confidence back, and we think it has to do with Head Trainer Steve Boyd’s encouragement in between the rounds. The action heats up especially when Alexis scores a nasty one-two-three heavy jab combo straight to Anllela’s lips, making the bigger girl scramble and cover up. Alexis may not have inflicted much damage here, but she barely got hit at all during this round in turn. In our book, that’s definitely a win for her.

ROUND 5:
Speaking of the things heating up, the Ice Hotel is still sparkling white and blue amidst the lonely ice crystals that adorn the tiny boxing arena. But at this mid-point of the fight, neither girl is really feeling the chill, working their bodies up into tip top fighting shape and now sweating profusely from the combined exertion. Alexis tries to repeat the same success from the previous round, but gets spooked by a much larger volume of swings that Sagra’s throwing at her all of a sudden. And when Sagra goes forth, trust us - she really sprints. Alexis avoids most of the incoming, but can’t stop a hook from landing in her side. Sagra licking her lips as her glove finally finds purchase, the dull blow cutting Ren into half with a HOOF, but surprisingly she doesn’t go down in complete tatters. Alexis still moving off to one side, retaliating with a right hand straight up into her opponent’s chin, socking d throwing her off the next few swings. The girls actually engage in wild melee in the final seconds of the fifth, taking turns planting leather into each other’s body.

ROUND 6:
Still, Ren may have suffered more than she’d like to admit from that last exchange. Alexis stumbling forward slightly, holding her side, whereas Anllela is still looking fit as a fiddle and roaring to go. The Colombian predictably charges straight at Ren, hoping to catch her in a double bind. But Ren bounding off her feet at the sight of danger approaching, starts using her long jab to dictate distance once more and rocking leather into the cheek each time Sagra comes in close. Anllela spitting out frustration when the third such jab lands hard, and these blows are certainly starting to add up by this point in the fight. It’s Ren’s strategy to whittle away at this behemoth of an opponent, bit by bit. Can she do it though, by the end of another four more rounds of action? Or will Sagra get lucky with one of her swings?

ROUND 7:
Slow beginning here as girls tire, but also left reevaluating their strategies, at least for Anllela. Ren back to her basics: moving and striking from afar, but Anllela deciding to take a slow burn towards her, hands covering her head as she advances and takes her shots very carefully. Alexis being herded into a corner slowly, and no matter the number of jabs she’s hitting into the dark blonde’s body, Anllela merely winces and moves forward, grunting and firing back. That’s Ren’s worse nightmare right there: an unstoppable force barreling down on her, with no foreseeable way to stop it. Last minute and Sagra goes to work: a right hand slams into the middle of Ren’s guard HARD, sending her backwards a couple of feet with a loud squeal. More straight shots land into the blonde’s body and chest and leaves her open to head damage. And by golly, Sagra taking the opportunity whenever it presents itself: Alexis left covering up and groaning more hook after hook are blasted into her raised guard, knocking that proud head about until the bell finally stops the abuse. Ren saved by the bell right there - another one or two shots to the temples and she SURELY would’ve been a goner.

ROUND 8:
The Queen of the Ice Hotel is one of our minor titles, yes, but it’s been held by the likes of Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr and Laetitia Casta, showing off its illustrious history and prestige. Ren looking to add her name to that list of past champions here, but damn it, she needs to conquer her most dangerous opponent to date in order to do so. Anllela not giving up the belt either to some scrawny blonde from America, and the way she charges at Ren to try and finish her off in the eighth is a telltale sign of that belief. Both girls tired out physically but both still moving in short bursts. Alexis however not fast enough, gets caught on the lips when Anllela fires off a quick jab combination up high before transitioning low with shots into her body. Ren stunned for a moment, gets BLASTED in the side ear once again by a hook, and sent into the ropes for more punishment. Anllela coming in hot, whacking at the undercarriage as Ren wisely covers up her head with both hands, but leaving that swimsuit-ready body to take a beating underneath. Ren with no choice but to actually CLINCH up with this monster of a foe, and Sagra herself spewing curses in Spanish into the lanky girl’s ear as she’s wrapped up around the neck and waistline. Sagra’s leaner and meaner body of course doing the honours of pinning Ren back down to the ropes, but she’s finding herself unable to enact that same kind of punishment on her frame below. Instead, Ren vastly more experienced in clinch warfare (from those many bouts with rival Alyssa Lynch), to pull the champion’s body closely into hers and using a free hand to batter and swipe underneath at tummy and chest. Not much damage inflicted on those well-chiselled abs, most likely, but Ren living to fight again at the end of three minutes when the referee forces them apart.

ROUND 9:
That last surge from Sagra seems to have finally taken its toll: the Colombian built for strength and power, but not much has been said about her ability to go for a long-distance marathon. She’s much slower out of the gate, and Ren obviously much more keen on taking advantage with a combination of strikes at her head and body. Sagra’s guard is up and running, but she’s still trying to score with those big, match-ending punches. Ren all too happy to avoid, swerve, and weave outta the way, before blasting the girl back in the face with one, two, THREE short but stiff hands. That nose of Sagra’s turning red from punishment, and she’s almost driven back into the ropes herself when she has to briefly shake the stars from her eyes. Alexis huffing and puffing, coming inwards but doing so cautiously, lest her opponent’s playing possum, buries another one-two into the chiselled tummy, and then snaps the Colombian’s head back with an uppercut. And STILL Sagra refuses to go down, her back glued to the ropes and one arm holding onto top rope for leverage. Before Ren can beat her up further, bell rings and she’s herded back to corner, a bittersweet smile on her face.

ROUND 10:
It’s Round 10 and STILL not one girl has been sent down to the canvas just yet! It either means that the action hasn’t been possibly up to par compared to some of these other fights, OR that both these girls are just that good at what they do: Anllela still standing firm, like those Greek goddess statues of old, refusing to go down without a fight. Ren on the other hand like charging a battle tank on horseback: agile and able to avoid most of its turret shots, but all it takes is just one precise blast from the gun to spoil your dinner. By our calculations as well, this last round has the champion so far in the lead a very small margin, taking one of the earlier rounds but then getting caught up and evened out by a relentless Alexis Ren. Thus, the blonde Vixen has to dig deep right here, where it matters, and come out on top in the tenth if she wants to win this on points alone.

Sagra therefore showing surprising restraint in this last round, focusing entirely on her defence as she tries to hold off the Ren assault. It’s most likely that her own corner has done the same calculations and arrived at the same conclusion: all she needs is to sit back and enjoy the remainder of the ride. Ren on the other hand flies forward and starts jabbing at her frame the moment the opening bell sounds, eager to win this round and thereby win the gold itself. But Sagra not letting her get close, trying to spook her with her own periodic swings at her head, that make her come to abrupt stop instead of going over the cliff itself.

But Ren determined to try again, over and over regardless, scoring an early victory when she narrowly dodges a straight right hand from Sagra, only to have the champ’s face right in her sights. She slams a left hook as Sagra’s surging forward, eliciting a loud grunt. Sagra already swerving her torso back towards Ren, intending to again catch her off-guard with another nasty backhand like in the second round. But Ren DUCKS under it this time round, her wild hair getting caught in the crossfire but nothing else. Surge upwards has Anllela’s head snapped from an uppercut to the chin. Alexis pounding her last shots into the pristine tummy before again sending a hook straight across the champion’s face. With a loud HOUUUFF, Sagra stumbles off to the side, before losing her balance and CRUMPLING DOWN TO THE FLOOR!!

FINALLY we have a KNOCKDOWN, ladies and gentlemen! And from the unlikeliest of places, no doubt. Alexis still having the energy to let out a silent roar - silent because it pales in comparison to the volume of the crowds around her. The referee’s already on Anllela’s side, shouting down the count at the lying girl, who’s spreadeagled and her face shaking from side to side on her back. But it’s no use - Alexis has done what few girls have been capable of: she’s knocked out the Ice Queen out cold completely! Referee waves it off and declares the fight as OVER!

Official Decision: Alexis Ren defeats Anllela Sagra via KO10! Alexis is the NEW Queen of the Ice Hotel!

AFTER:
Elation from the VIX corner as they score a huge victory for their team tonight, despite of course Ren’s propensity to not like sharing her spoils very much. Good lord though - we never expected the Vixen to pull this feat off, after having been beaten so soundly by Sagra the last time! Of course, don’t let the new Ice Queen hear you say that. We certainly think that Ren has the personality to fit the theme of her tile: cold as ice and uncaring enough to be the Queen of this place, for sure.

“Let me have it, bitches!” are the first words out of Ren’s mouth as Queen, as she snatches the crystal tiara from the ring officials and plants it firmly atop her head.

Ren then strides over to the fallen Sagra, who’s still being attended to by medics beside the ropes. Without any warning, she sends a punt kick at the former champ right in her abdomen, making her grunt out loud , before Alexis sends another knee crashing up into her jawline, further adding injury to insult as Sagra’s on her knees, eyes fluttering and mouth open wide in shock. Before Ren can inflict any permanent damage, the ring officials are restraining her from behind. Something tells us that this reign of hers is gonna be a long, wild and complicated one!
