Before: Knowles back in with her third straight tall, blonde boxer puncher – she’s 1 and 1 against the style, but Theron’s the top of that particular food chain.

“Baby, you’re in with a Cameron Diaz who can punch,” mocks Theron in prefight, “have you thought about that?” Pretty simple for Knowles, pressure Charlize to the ropes, break down her body, make her trade in close. Knowles still smarting from the post-fight spanking Theron gave her in their previous encounter – no question a KO over Charlize will result in some measure of poetic justice.

Round 1: Beyonce scuttling out very quickly, getting low on Charlize, clubbing hard to the ribcage and backing Theron to the ropes. Knowles in a wide, parallel stance, head at Charlize’ stomach level – Beyonce just weaving side to side, pulling in scalding lefts and rights to the hips and flanks, bobbing underneath Theron’s catspaw counters. Charlize feeling it, leaning into the strands with her hands up – turning her body to absorb shock, patting down with either palm to the top of Beyonce’s head or shoulders just to distract. Late in the round, Charlize batting down with her palms, manages to spin into open space, using her legs to run out the clock – satisfying round of work goes to Beyonce.

Round 2: Theron livelier, giving ground in front of Beyonce, using the jab from her hip as a breakwater as Knowles tries to slip her way past the stick. Charlize stepping back, prepping the target, then slicing in her right hand – making her escape around Knowles’ right side with a little pivot off the cross. By the midway point, Theron’s feet are in control of the fight – she’s dancing around center ring, darting in and out, hands loose at her waist as she cuffs and swats at Beyonce’s face. Beautiful sequence sees Charlize feint to freeze Knowles, sweep in with a rising right on the cheek, a lashing left on the opposite cheek, then a graceful pivot left, leaning back to make Knowles’ angry right hand fan air. Beyonce wobbly butt, no one punch doing it, but Theron’s hitting her at will and not paying the price this round.

Round 3: Playful shutout Charlize – she’s letting her legs dictate this fight. Theron’s hands down, jangly, bouncing, but she’s judging range exquisitely – no danger of getting clipped as Knowles stays in a tentative crouch, hands at her mouth, elbows in tight, creeping forward into batting, swatting flurries. Pitty pat stuff from Theron – little backhand lead rights off the front foot, giving way to clouting hooks as she eases onto the back foot, closes up her stance to slip a desperation response and melts off to the side. Breezy smile Theron at the bell – Charlize helping herself to a chunk of frustrated Beyonce buttock at the break.

Round 4: Charlize so loose and relaxed, hands down, fists open as she glides, steps, pivots around a bewildered foe. Knowles gnashing her teeth and essentially unhurt, trying to bob close and explode out of her crouch, but she just can’t get anything going. Theron giving ground and jabbing to sop up Knowles momentum when Beyonce wants to advance. Theron scoring limber combinations off her front foot, really keeping Knowles at the end of the punches when Beyonce stands her ground or tries to regroup. Lots of slapping and cuffing from Charlize as she pivots off punches, bringing fists up from her waist to shine up Beyonce’s beautiful face this round.

Round 5: Beyonce finally countering Charlize’ lazy jab, walking through it and hooking hard to jaw to get Theron backpedalling off balance. Knowles following up with a few pounding rips against the chest and midriff of Theron – Charlize quickly tieing up head and arm for the fight’s first clinches. Theron hugging for breaks, bounces it back to midring, reclaims the initiative from the 60 second mark on. Jabs, sneaky lead right hands, slapping hooks off the pivot for Charlize as she cruises to another pocketful of points.

Round 6: Knowles looping an overhand right early, pulling it down over top Theron’s stick, has Charlize standing still and makes the most of it. Girls clanging away at close range – Knowles snarling, reefing away at ribs and chin – Theron supple as she rolls with punches, taking the sting off them, then coming back up underneath with slinging leverage to the jaw. Crowd pleasing stuff – Knowles able to get some things done, bashes Charlize to the ropes for a big final minute. All Beyonce as Theron hangs off the girl’s neck, trying to pull her head down – Knowles churning away over Theron’s arms, then pulsing away to the trunk line with furious arm action. Theron shaken on the spot, but managing the fury well – she gets to the bell, shoves Beyonce off and the ref has to get involved as tempers flare.

Round 7: Charlize restoring order – she wants movement, distance, jab, spot right hands and gets it all. Knowles back to stalking ineffectually, crouching, bobbing, but not getting off as Theron’s rhythm holds her in thrall. Charlize getting pretty as she retreats to the ropes, then bat-bats down on Beyonce’s head with the palms to set up the spin move out of jail.

Round 8: Charlize walking to her right, looking things over, then suddenly steps in, puts the clean right uppercut on Knowles’ chin – Beyonce practically posing for the shot in her crouch goes instantly wobbly butt. Charlize hanging around for a second, crowding so she can dig the right hand down behind Beyonce’s elbow, palming to step right around the girl as Knowles sags. Theron curling the right outside-in uppercut to pick up Beyonce’s groggy face, bumping Knowles the left shoulder and swatting her mouth a sweeping hook as Beyonce topples to the ropes in shock. Theron piling on – just touching the jab, touching the jab – Knowles hurt, gloves up but weak, face blank – Theron spots her right hand with bashing force straight between the girl’s mitts, quickly resetting behind a stabilizing jab. Sharp-shooting breaking Knowles down – she’s ramshackle and ready to go down the stretch. HEARTLESS BEATING as Charlize now squares up, gets muscular and starts pulling in heat from the hips. Theron slashing away, rising lefts and rights, arcing wide, but landing short as she gets her body and hips into the act – Knowles fielding cannonballs off her face, sitting into the ropes, staggering from one foot to the other but REFUSING to go down. At the bell, Theron steps back with cold satisfaction: blood from Beyonce’s nose, eyes dim – she staggers mindlessly along the ropes as her trainer rushes to gather her in.

Round 9: Knowles a bull stuck with rapiers and poignards, staggering forward, badly battered, spirit frustrated – Theron eases back outside where she can work at will. Knowles getting through with the odd shot, but Theron won’t permit the second or third – she pulls down on Beyonce’s head, spins and turns her midring, even holds her for curling little contact uppercut forget-me-nots before disengaging. Hard to watch for Knowles fans – Theron’s taking her time, not putting too much on Beyonce – just keeping her dazed.

Round 10: Charlize shows a little of everything this round. First minute, just get control with her legs, get her distance and rhythm, make Beyonce quit psychologically. Second minute, go for the stoppage – ring Beyonce up with slinging right and left uppercuts, stampede Beyonce to the ropes, palm her shoulders and clout her sleepy face side to side. Final minute – Beyonce won’t go – Charlize content to use her up, reaching under the girl’s arms and pressing her to the ropes, holding her down, then pushing off to chop away with fluid lefts and rights from the chest, thumbs to the ceiling as she puts punches together. Knowles all busted up and dumb from punishment at the bell – she finishes up sullen, arms crossed, sitting on the strands and taking punches off her swollen face. UD10 Charlize Theron.

After: Theron dominant, no let downs, no surprises – Beyonce just couldn’t get on track enough to make it happen tonight. Charlize beaming, towel around her neck, finger raised "Number 1" as she works the press with sound bytes and pearly whites - you can see rivals cringing, pursing lips, and sneering in the audience as Theron's breezy supremacy rankles.
