STABLE WAR #4

Before: 4th installment of  the Krusher/Ultimate stable war—Krushers can win it outright if Elisha can upset sinewy Blalock, but Ultimate spirits have been lifted since the 0-2 start—renewed enthusiasm of the Ultimate bench with Romijn’s defeat of Heigl. “We’re not taking any more of their crap,” explains team stopper Rebecca Romijn. “They were all—‘we’re going to sweep Ultimate’ and doing their Korus line stuff, and it did have us down until I put this team on my back and carried them to respectability. Cuthbert’s going out to Jolene and then it’s all tied up going into Charlize—and anything can happen in one fight. Jolene in bronze/taupe coloured athletic two-piece—high neck top, high waist bottoms, matching boxing shoes—Cuthbert in tawdry hot pink push up bra, white lace trim and blue jean cut offs, white sneakers.

During R1: Blalock spritizing jabs, right hand at her chest—she’s trying to sneak it in quick behind the stick to catch Cuthbert napping. ‘Lish poked to the outside in the first minute, but moving her head VERY well—weaving the jab and crouching low to either side as she inches lose. Midway through, Blalock tapping out a series of jabs—all missing—Cuthbert weaves up out of the crouch with a leaping Frazier hook and NAILS Blalock leaning straight back, head snap Jolene—body going limp—she hits the canvas with such drama, crowd jumps to its feet with a shouted “OH!” in near-unison. AND IT’S OVER! Jolene Blalock caught and dropped—KO1 Elisha Cuthbert mathematically salts away Ultimate with the third Krusher victory.

After: Shattering upset one of the year’s biggest—Blalock with her hands low, contemptuous of her curvy opponent, gets caught the hardest punch Cuthbert’s ever thrown in competition and simply can’t take it. Romijn hands in hair, standing ringside—shrieking “GET UP!” at slumbering Blalock—concerned officials tend to Jolene as Krushers flood the ring. The usual crass celebration—vibrations of the jumping cavorting jostling prone Blalock as Krushers carry on like she’s not even there. Following gleeful backslapping, victorious blondes form up and start high kicking, big smiling. That’s too much for Rebecca—she rallies the troops—Ultimate girls slide in under the bottom rope, charge the line to break it up and senseless, appalling Pier 6 battle royal erupts. Officials flood the ring to restore order, but not before designer blouses are torn, $500 coiffures are disheveled and tempers frayed. Pratt up next, battling for pride—falls to Theron to run up the score and really do Ultimate up right.
