Just as quickly as the BSE corner-team scrambles into the ring to assist a downed Jenn O’Dell, Kaley Cuoco and Charisma Carpenter have launched themselves from their front row seats and hurled themselves over the top rope to Jenn’s side.

As Charisma and the trainer rush to tend Jenn’s knee, Kaley cries: “Jenn, Jenn, we’re so sorry…we should have had your back. We should have known that skank would try something like this.”

“Not your fault,” Jenn strains through clenched teeth, tears running down her cheeks. “Need to learn not to turn my back on snakes.”

The trainers force Jenn to lie down as they pack ice bags around the knee and isolate it from further movement. “Get a stretcher over here!” one of them yells.

Jenn forces out a “No! I’m walking out of here, Not giving that #&8@ the satisfaction of seeing me hauled out of here.” She winces as a brace is inflated around her left knee.

Charisma and Kaley each grab one of Jenn’s arms and haul her to her right foot. With an arm wrapped around each of her stablemate’s necks, Jen hops out of the ring and out of the arena to the applause of the crowd.

Despite protests, the trainers insist on rushing Jenn to the hospital for examination, “It’s just a strained knee, Jenn, Charisma and Kaley optimistically insist. The trainer will have n one of it and demand every precaution be taken. They know that Aristide would want everything possible to be done to make absolutely sure no permanent damage resulted. He would be flying to Las Vegas tonight to check on his fighter.

At the hospital, Charisma and Kaley accompany Jenn to the examination room, then to the MRI scan. “You guys don’t have to hang around here all night,” Jenn announces as the nurses load her into the scanner. “I could be here for a little while, I’ll be fine.”

“Yeah. Right,” Charisma replies, “we’re not going anywhere.”

“We have one of these back at BSE!” Kaley exclaims as she examines the MRI.

“Yeah,” Jenn nods. “It’s in the sports med center. Haven’t they ever put you in it to scan an injury?”

“I’ve never been injured. I thought it was some kind of big funky tanning bed,” Kaley responds sheepishly.

“You didn’t try to tan in that thing, did you?” Charisma asks incredulously.

“Well, not after the first couple of times,” Kaley mumbles, “I wasn’t getting any darker. I thought MRI was just the manufacturer of the thing.”

Jen and Charimsa break out in laughter as Kaley blushes. Jenn, not wanting to trample Kaley’s feelings, quickly adds, “Pretty good feat figuring out how to turn the thing on, Kaley. You might have a future in med technology.” Kaley grins.

After the scan, Charisma and Kaley are sitting at Jenn’s side in an examination room as one of the physicians walks in. “We have the results of your MRI.

“That was quick,” Charisma states, “Don’t these things take some time and a team of specialists to read?”

“Your boss Aristide, arranged for us to transmit the results directly to Johns Hopkins for immediate analysis,” the doctor explains, “They say nothing is torn, but the tendons around the knee are strained.”

“And?” Jenn inquires.

“You’ll need to keep it packed in ice and stay off it for now. Your own sports medicine people are already putting a rehab plan into place.”

“Rehab?” Charisma asks. “Just how bad is it?”

“With proper attention and work, the knee could be back at 100% in six weeks or so.”

“I don’t have that long,” Jenn announces. “I need to be ready to go in 4 weeks max. I have another date with that #%8@ Allen.”

“You’ll have to take that you with your medical team,” the doctor responds as she turns to exit. “At our boss’ orders, we’ll be giving you a cortisone injection to knock down the inflammation so you can recoup as quickly and fully as possible.”

“See?” Jenn smiles, “even Aristide is eager to see me get back in the ring with Allen.”

“I wouldn’t be too sure about that,” Charisma advises. Kaley nods in agreement.

“Aristide may cancel this series after what happened tonight.” Kaley suggest softly.

“No way in hell!” Jenn fires back. “I’m going to win this best of 7 against Allen no matter what!”

“But you might not be 100% by the next scheduled bout,” Kaley states with concern.

“Yeah, well I might be if we get after it,” Jenn replies as she massages her ice-packed knee. “And we’re not delaying anything. I don’t want to give Allen satisfaction. I don’t care if I have to fight that #%*@ in crutches! I’m keeping the schedule. Period!”

“That’d be interesting,” Kaley muses, “boxing with crutches, You could put the gloves on the ends of the crutches and have a long-range punchout.” Charisma fires a frown at Kaley. “Ooops, I didn’t mean anything by that. I’m sure you’ll be 100% in 4 weeks, Jenn you’re tough and in great shape and our trainers are the best.”

“Thanks, Kaley,” Jenn smiles. “As long as my knee ins 90%, I can beat Allen and finish this, and her.”

“Don’t take too many chances with her,” Charisma advises.

“Allen’s the only one taking a chance be getting back in the ring with me,” Jenn scowls.

“Well, just in case you’re not 100% by fight-time, we’re going to have to work on some of may patented Charisma-tic moves for you to use against her,” Charisma smiles. “We’ll help you any way we can.”

:”Count on it!” Kaley chimes in.

“I am, Thanks,” Jenn grins in response.

Thanks,

BSE
