Impossible fight to make finally gets done when Theron overrules her promoter and tells HBO to get her Fernandez. Boxing writers hail Theron as a fighter's fighter, but nobody disguises the fact that Charlize is a big underdog in this one. Giselle, the 'blonde assassin' is THE most ducked fighter of the decade. Controversial Mexican has battled politics and critics who contend she isn't a real celebrity her entire career and has never fought for a title. It's now or never for her, given her age. Fernandez the better boxer, harder hitter, better inside fighter - only age and Charlize's heart the x-factors going in.

Round 1: Charlize surprises everyone, especially Giselle with a little boxing, actually blocking Giselle's right and countering with her own to out-point the brunette this round. Unusually tepid start for the cardiac kid of boxing.

Round 2: Giselle gives her head a shake and comes out to destroy this round. Starting with a snapping laser jab, Fernandez gets the range and breaks Charlize down. Hooking off the jab, Giselle is able to bat Theron's head around, and by the final minute, everything is working for Fernandez as she takes Theron apart with vicious looking and sounding combinations, using the left to the midsection and head. She'll swipe a right uppercut then DIG A HARD HOOK TO THE BREAST, THEN REPEAT WITH THE LEFT. Big smile from Giselle at the bell as Charlize looks wobbly.

Round 3: Toe to toe round as both women take turns unleashing combinations. By the final round, Giselle realizes she's been drawn into a slugging match, and probably got the worst of it that round.

Round 4: Charlize goes back to her jab and dominates this round with boxing. She's jabbing a jabber very effectively, and keeping Giselle's left hook at bay with strong straight rights to the head. Giselle not hurt, but not busy this round either. Plan A seems to be faltering a bit.

Round 5: Another toe to toe round as both women load up from directly in front of one another. This time, Fernandez' sweet left hook dominates and she starts to look for the punch, telegraphing by bending down to the left while pawing her right at Charlize face. Theron soaks up the punches in good shape, but loses the round.

Round 6: Wheels come off the Fernandez apple cart. Standing right in front of Charlize, Fernandez begins cranking left hooks, but is caught with a clean right in between her punching, and suddenly dazed. Giselle covers up, but Theron uses a nice left uppercut to bust the brunette up and Fernandez is in serious trouble. Giselle desperately tries to run, tries to bob her way out of the jam, but Theron is nailing her with that short right hand, often set up with hold from the left. Theron butts Giselle towards the end of the round, then compounds it with another clubbing right to the eyebrow - Fernandez cut and staggery at the bell.

Round 7: All Charlize Theron as she wades into Fernandez. Charlize left is low, and she hurls it into Giselle's ribs, coming over the top with crashing right hands as openings arise. It is a brutal, stalking round, in which Giselle is battered senseless. Fernandez looks like a 40-something pug for the first time in her life as the abuse breaks her down horribly. In her own corner, Giselle is hammered by the relentless Theron right hand until she's out on her feet. She survives the round, but seconds into the break, her corner waves off the fight. Charlize Theron wins via gigantic TKO upset!

After: Theron fans go insane as Giselle is handed one of the worst beatings of her career. Unexpectedly easy bout for Charlize, who most had written off as too raw for the polished Mexican. Theron's greatest performance as a pro sets up the title bout with Luner for all the marbles. Sad ending for Giselle, a woman no one would fight in her prime, and perhaps who is no longer the fighter she once was. Charlize says after the fight, "She didn't respect me at all before the fight, guaranteeing the knockout and everything. Maybe she respects me now." There's a pretty good chance of that.
