Before: Many pundits feel this is the premier match up in boxing right now—both girls big, strong, and breathtaking—Landry evolving into that natural rival for Nolin. Earlier in Ali’s career, her first step up ion class ended in disaster as a fouling Gena Lee romped to a blow out win. This time, Landry has worked extensively with Paula Trickey to avoid the pitfalls of Nolin’s treachery. “Everyone thinks Gena can’t take a punch,” says Paula, “so they go after that big stupid face of hers and that’s exactly what Gena wants you to do. She’s soft in the gut—doesn’t train much—O told Ali ‘you want to be right inside those trunks of hers, making her work all night long’—do that and Gena’s just another blonde cupcake.” Landry in gold bikini, Gena in black bikini, loops between the breasts and hips.

During 1,2: Nolin earning boos, opens both rounds with sloppy clinches, intent on popping a Landry elbow, or pushing the brunette to her knees with a twisting headlock. Li stays calm, lets the ref do his work, and answers to the body, slowly breaking Gena down throughout the rounds. Landry able to gain access with a heartstopping straight right hand to the chest cavity, pancaking that left breast and driving Gena onto her heels—then it’s mouth on shoulder slogging—Nolin doing her best to toe up her breaks, but not before Landry lands some juicy licks to the waist to leave the blonde open mouthed hanging on—both rounds to Ali.

R3: Gena decides to fight back. She meets Ali coming in with a hard left shoulder, then shoots the right cross as Landry sputters backwards—bump and shoot very effective keeping Ali off this round. Landry on the outside tentative—she’s got that terrific jab, but Nolin’s savage overhand right exploits every attempt Landry makes to probe. Round to Gena as she brawls effectively at range.

R4: Ali back on the body with those shuddering ribsplitter straight right hands—Nolin grimacing, folding back to the ropes, and clinching. Landry just working in there—putting her head hard under Nolin’s chin, pushing her fists into the blonde’s thick gut, using her shoulders and forearms to shove Gena back to reset. Nolin taking horrendous abuse downstairs, clinching, using her laces repeatedly to rouge up Ali’s cheeks, but the brunette can’t be discouraged—round to the champ.

R5: Gena bumping with a HARD left shoulder—sends Ali sprawling and Nolin capitalized with a looping overhand right chaser—LANDRY IS HURT! Punch caroms off Ali’s eye, sending her reeling sideways in to the ropes and on comes Gena. Gena using her left forearm against Ali’s left shoulder—punching over the top with right hands as Landry leans her side against the ropes, covers up to take. Gena bashing away at the back of Ali’s head, then bodying her girl awkwardly up against the ropes and stuffing right hands into the offered side/hip region. Ref issuing breaks as Landry can’t defend herself—big brunette lifts her kitss to her moth, eyes vacant, and sits ropeside to weather the storm. Gena coming in waves, just clubbing, looping her punches, desperate to get the brunette out of there, but Landry showing heart, and good defensive skills to block a lot of the incoming. Ali finishing up on shaky legs—Nolin chesting up to let her hear it—Landry blinking  stupidly as Gena trash talks an inch away from her face.

R6: Gena fighting her fight. She’s got Ali backing up, hurting—Nolin stalking, driving in off her back foot with overhand rights, then leaping back the other way with wide left hands to the ear—Landry melting around the ring with a discouraged look, Ali avoiding the shutout later with characteristic crisp one-twos up the middle. At the bell, Landry slumps on her stool, and is shocked as Paula Trickey slaps her to attention! Fight’s even after 6.

R7: Ali comes storming out—now it’s Gena on her heels, ill prepared to fight backing up. Landry diving in behind those crushing straight right hands to the body—Gena just can’t take these punches, cringing away and slinking to the ropes with bared teeth as Landry walks her down, Gena crossing her arms along her waist, leaning forward—Ali gets her best work done as she bullies the blonde, working in behind the elbows, using her shoulder to drop Gena up for more. Bashing shove and slug to the stomach, breast and chin—Landry with short, compact blows, all leg and shoulder, devastating her challenger this round.

R8: Ali beating it out of Gena now. Landry walking Gena down, reaching in under the arms, muscling the blonde to the ropes, then going to work on that tummy with grinding lefts and rights. Nolin locklegged, seated on the ropes, seated on the ropes, bending over, her legs soak up dreadful punishment to her sides—Landry able to curl little left uppercuts across Gena’s overhanging breasts, doubling up into the blonde’s face as Nolin has no answers. Ali glowing sweatily, smiling at the bell—Gena Lee trembles en route to her corner.

R9: Savage big swinging round. Ali has a great opening minute, punishing Gena against the ropes. Nolin roars back, clinching up, walking her girl to mid ring, then laying in with the overhand rights to put wobble in Landry’s trunks. Comes down to who want it more: Ali backing Gena up once again to the ropes with those bludgeoning right hands to the body—Gena wide spread legs, bending  left and right to pull haymakers into Landry’s face. Banging wide blows seem to stun Ali for a moment—Gena reloads, slaps a left upside the head, then leans into a whippy short right hand on the jaw and DOWN GOES ALI! Landry hammered to her knees as Gena skips to the side, allowing the brunette to slump face first into the ropes. Ali climbs the ropes with a bleary look—saved by the bell—Gena leaping and pumping her firsts—fights even after 9!

R10: Gena jumps off her stool and roars across to test Ali’s chin—Landry stumbling to her right, looking to fend with the jab gets Nolin turning, chasing. End of the first round, Ali sliding back in good order, times Gena’s right hand, diving in with a short right to win the race and DOWN GOES NOLIN! Gena walking into the punch, her own right hand sailing over the top as she wobbles gently to one knee—Landry BEAMING at the knockdown. Nolin up quick, but eyes swimming with tears she knows the knockdown is huge. Ali gives Gena no chance to work—immediately crowding, bullying the blonde to the ropes, and going to the body with holding and hitting intensity. Gena struggling to get her butt off the ropes, constantly held around the shoulders and worked to the gut by Ali’s free mitt—no room to breathe. Ali salts it away and at the bell, jumps up and down like a little girl, hands on Gena’s shoulders as the blonde slumps, chokes back tears. UD10 Ali Landry.

After: Landry retains in a thriller—Nolin heartbroken once again to have come so close and been denied. Gena refusing to be walked—shoving match in ring ensues as the girls are separated. Interestingly, Ali snubs Paula Trickey in the post fight celebration, turning a cold shoulder as Paula looks to congratulate her, and in the days to follow, rumours abound that Paula’s been cut out of her 10% corner fee/ Landry doesn’t comment directly, but takes full credit for dismantling Gena Lee on her own, referring to Trickey as “…deadweight, she’s a hanger-on. When you’re a celebrity, you attract parasites.” Ouch.
