Before; HBO anxious to introduce American audiences to Janssen, whose murderous punching has made her a feared European champion. Theron the better boxer,  but her willingness to get hit by right hands could cost her in this fight arguably the biggest puncher she’s ever faced. Teal adidas terrycloth trunks, white sports bra for Charlize, red adidas trunks, black sports bra for Famke. Janssen with a chilling stare down, brings to mind Drago  the Russian from the Rocky films.

R1: Famke using the left just to reach for and measure the opponent, always coming forward, stepping either into a rising right hand to the body, or a driving right hand to the head, Theron using her legs, keeping her distance, but getting rocked even by glancing blows. Charlize running in the final minute and at the bell, flashes a concerned look at her corner.

R2: Theron standing her ground a little bit more this round, discovers something about Janssen: the big brunette is easy to hit. Charlize able to find the high cheekbones of her opponent with snapping left hooks and crosses, out punches Janssen 2 to 1 this round, but still retreats in the final minute a the brunette walks her down and launches thos fearful right hands ot the body and head.

R3: Theron makes an adjustment, discontinuing the boxing, and actually slugging Famke this round, brunette with a bad habit of swinging off balance, is slow to recover and vulnerable during such moments. Theron with never-before seen upper body movement, lips the ponderous right, coming back with spanking left hooks to the liver and jaw on Famke. By the final minute, Theron’s clean connects take ion a tree-chopping feel as Charlize finally has Famke wobbling, Janssen a little stunned at the bell right eye cut, lips, face badly bruised.

R4: Charlize continues to out think her predictable foe, slipping the reliable right hand of her opponent, and nailing the brunette as Janssen tries to rest. Midway through the round, a withering double left hook to the body and head has Janssen stumbling sideways with a shocked expression, and Theron able to step into her trademark Joe Louis right hand up the middle Janssen cut over the left eye after this round, high cheekbones beginning to betray her.

R5: Janssen digging hat steamshovel right hand into Charlize’s breadbasket early, but the blonde continues to slip, step laterally, and counter with vicious accuracy to the wide open face and head of the brunette. Theron retakes the round with blistering counter left hooks, and finishes up strong on Janssen as Famke’s back touches the ropes for the first time in the fight.

R6: Janssen’s face a battered cartoon of the beauty who began this fight, but she contnues to stalk Charlize, pounding the right to the gut of the blonde to open strong. Theron countering with right hands on the teeth, hammers Famke’s head back repeatedly, and midway through the round. Janssen finally seems hurt, allowing Theron to put combinations together and land several more stinging right crosses. Janssen finishes well however, clouting Charlize across the lips and forcing the blonde to the ropes for a beating as Theron covers up to survive.

R7: Charlize Theron with savage left hooks to Famke’s shattered face, busts the brunette up and hammers her to the ropes to open the round.. Theron shocked to see a woman soak up her very best shots, but the blonde continues to set her feet wide and let her hands fly as Famke’s head dances on her neck. Shutout for Theron, who shakes her head at the bell with a look of wonder as Famke’s blood stains Charlize’s white sports bra.

R8: Beating from Theron become almost surreal as Famke no longer really a threat. Janssen still plowing forward, unable to see Theron’s punches, and Charlize simply setting her feet, turning her hips, and putting everything into free swinging lefts and rights. Janssen battered around the ring with her gloves at her chest--in the final minute, a series of cracking double left hooks, single right hands on the jaw drops Janssen in her corner. Theron stunned as Famke beats the count, although on very shaky legs at the bell.

R9.10: Famke Janssen goes on to take a savage beating from the blonde as the ref inexplicably lets the slaughter continue. Charlize badly bruising both fists on Janssen’s skull, continues her sharp power punching display, slugging Famke off balance, then pouring in lefts and rights to hurt the brunette over and over again. In the final round, Charlize digs at Janssen’s body in frustration, bending Famke over in pain, but unable to produce the stoppage. At the final bell, Charlize helps a wrecked Famke Janssen return to her corner, settling for a lopsided unanimous decision.

After: Theron sets a new punchset record for power punches landed in a fight as she blisters Janssen onto a KO daze over the last 7 rounds of this fight. Janssen no longer a threat once Charlize’s fists tore open her jutting eyebrows and pulped her cheeks, robbing everyone of the opportunity to see her own power punching on display. Charlize disappointed at not being able to stop Famke, hut openly admiring Janssen’s warrior’s heart in this fight.
