During R1-2: Both girls show some of the best celebrity technique in a long time as each works tight combinations, moves the upper body, steps economically around the other, and keeps the work rate high. Neither girl looking for home runs just yet, each exploring the other’s defense and reflexes, getting re-acquainted. Each likes to finish her rounds grinding on the inside after having set the opponent up with boxing--and it is Demi who emerges slightly stronger, winning both rounds by slim margins in closely contested action.

R3: Demi continuing to outbox Gina--Moore just a little quicker-fisted, and using a nice dip to the right to set up slashing right uppercuts under Gina’s chin. In the final minute, as the girls close distance, Gershon steps into withering right hands across Demi’s midsection, drawing cries of pain from the brunette and putting a wobble in those trunks. Gershon beats the points out of Moore, stealing an otherwise Demi round.

R4: Round of the Year candidate. Demi starts off stepping left, hooking off the jab, and she breaks Gina down with punishing left hands up the middle and around the side. Suddenly snapping off a short straight right, Moore catches Gina with her feet together and dumps Gershon to her backside for a quick strike knockdown. Gina takes 8, and Moore pounces, going to the midsection with slashing one-twos, then ripping upstairs with banging right hands. Gershon’s head jerking back as Moore pounds her right hand in past the mitts, and Demi works Gina over along the ropes to the final minute. Gina bobbing at the waist, counters brilliantly off the ropes, coming back in between Moore’s punches with ripping, short left hooks and digging right hands to the sports bra and Demi is hurt! Moore clinching at the end, is tremble-bodied and pouting as Gershon waltzes with her to the bell.

R5: Gina comes out the stronger in the fifth, proving more resilient than Demi, who still looks shaky on her legs, Gina bending into right hands, hen straightening to land crunching left hooks, quickly bangs her way past Demi’s guard, and a pound right/left puts Demi on her back! Moore up, looking punching, covers up and takes a professional working over from Gina as Gershon tans the body, hooks the head, shoves and molests Moore from bell to bell.

R6: Demi using her legs, up on her toes, spanking back Gina’s head with the jab, makes Gershon chase, and in the final minute, finally gives Gina a beating in mouth-on-shoulder slogging to the bell.

R7,8,.9: Gina Gershon puts on the boxing clinic, sealing the fight on the scorecards with 3 consecutive shutout rounds. It’s brilliant stuff, with Gershon bright-eyed, aggressive--Moore increasingly defensive and concerned. Gina putting 2 and 3 punch combinations together, elegantly sidestepping Moore with a hand on Demi’s arm or hip, resetting and punching with effortless grace. Moore getting buffeted, turns and covers up as Gina’s fists pelt her with a relentless beat. In the 9th,  Gina bellows into Moore’s puffy and disappointed face at the bell as the ref jumps in.

R10: Toe to toe slugging--not the smartest way to finish a fight, but Gina wont take a backward step. Both women strand and blast away, foreheads grinding together as fists polish up hips and midsections with furious give and take. In the final minute, Gina with a rhythmic bob, uppercut routine, bangs Demi with alternating lefts and rights t oput the brunette on the ropes. Beating to the bell as Gina squares up, keeping her head in tight to Demi’s face, working the midsection with punishing strokes from both hands. Demi finishes up with tears in her eyes, as Gina laughs, anticipating the decision. Unanimous duke Gina Gershon, giving her old nemesis the beating of a lifetime in the process.

After: As well fought a bout As Two celebrities will put on this year, and a showcase for Gina Gershon’s sparkling skills as she shies Demi up for the trophy room down the stretch. Rounds 7-9 show Gershon at her very best, demoralizing a ought and well-schooled opponent with relentless pressure and just-enough movement, Foe Moore, the loss is another nail in the coffin of her pound-for-pound hopes--she’s never been rhe same since losing to Jamie Luner 2 years ago.
