Before: Naomi gets her wish as Charlize’ people do the following calculation: Theron is coming off a solid KO over Zeta-Jones; Campbell just got crushed by Janet Jones; Campbell really just a brawler—Theron already beat her once, and this time will use some smarts to make the fight easy. During R1: Charlize really looks good this round, posting a shutout and controlling her opponent with ease. Theron uses the jab consistently knocking back Campbell’s head throughout the round, and stepping in behind it with short rights to the center of the chest. One-twos shut Naomi down, and she wanders around the perimeter of the ring, trying to counter, but getting rocked by Theron’s solid power.

R2: Campbell gets it going this round, looping the right hand over Theron’s timeable jab, and stepping into openings to sling lefts and rights at Charlize’ chin. Theron starting to slug more, and she’s getting pasted. Charlize walks through the storm, basically unhurt, but Campbell encouraged to have made easy contact.

R3: Naomi very aggressive this round, brings the fight right to Charlize. Pawing and swooping with her left, she distracts Charlize and comes over the top with a right hand that looks like a baseball pitch. It crashes hard against the temple of Charlize AND THERON WOBBLES TO THE ROPES!!! Naomi squeals in delight and legs on in, lashing the helpless blonde with long, whipping lefts and rights, AND THERON GOES DOWN!!! A smashing series of swinging lefts and rights flush on the jaw puts Charlize on her face, and she can’t beat the count!!! Naomi Campbell stuns Charlize Theron with a third round KO!!!

After: Chaos reigns as Naomi is hoisted onto the shoulders of her cornermen and parade around the ring. Cameras follow a dazed and weepy Theron as she is surrounded by her camp, headed down the hallway to the locker rooms. In the days afterward, speculation runs rampant: Is Theron finished, did the loss to Jones take more out of her than she realized, was it just a lucky KO, so on and so forth. Sweet vindication for Campbell who had insisted all along that she was the better woman.
