If a well-established boxing house went shopping for a blonde flyweight, you might think that Kelly Packard would be one of the first to get on an offer—but in the case of Kim’s Krushers, you’d be flat wrong. “Kelly Packard is not Kruisher material!” a spokesperson for the organization told BLONDE! Magazine prior to this bout. “She’d be out of place in a gym full of movie stars. Despite Ricci’s inexperience we think she’s got more potential in and out of the ring than Packard and besides: Kelly’s a cutey. We like girls with a mean streak.” Come fight night—the way Packard bashed down on Ricci’s gloves to touch’em up after ref’s instructions told onlookers all they needed to know.

Kelly Packard carved into Christina Ricci like a woman scorned, blazing away with heartless combinations, driving Ricci windblown to the ropes. When punches were doing the job, Kelly mixed in elbows, busting up in the mouth and leaving her badly dazed. Knockdowns blossomed like flowers in a spring rain—the sheer accumulation of Packard’s violence driving Ricci to her knees in haphazard positions. By the final minute a game but outgunned Christina sagged to her knees in the ropes, helpless to prevent the torrent of punches to her battered face. The ref stepped in with seconds left, saving a trembling, shattered Christina Ricci from further torment. “The Krushers aren’t Kelly Packard material,” Kelly spat in postfight, adding, “whenever Ricci’s ready, I want more.”
