Intro:
The welterweight division seems to be in the biggest state of flux it has been in a while, Hilary Rhoda and Kelly Brook both need win to keep their names in the title debate with so many different contenders coming through.

With the Diamond boxing tournament coming up, a new champion in Jennifer Lawrence making her first ever defence tonight, plenty of different names have stepped into the limelight wanting a title shot, maybe the most depth the division has had in a while.

In the build up both fighters were interviewed by FCBA reporter Alicia Atout, Hilary was interviewed at her stable gym, finishing sparring with stablemate Joan Smalls, hugging her friend with a big smile after a hard workout, waving Alicia to step into the ring with her, the interviewer taking off her heels before she joins Rhoda.

"Hey Alicia, as you see I am in great shape, I need to be as Kelly won't be there to be a punch bag, one punch can change a fight and I won't let her get me so easily" says a relaxed Hilary as she slips off her gloves to hand them to coach Rebecca Romijn.

Asked how she is feeling about the division and being ranked as low as ninth for the first time in a long time, Hilary admits "the division is growing, honestly I think being in that top five for a while made me too relaxed, I would go on runs but would fail in the title fights, seeing now others step up is making me need to refocus, make sure I do my job and prove I still belong in this new field of fighters" with Joan coming back over to the ring from the outside.

Joan yells "if she doesn't take it serious she knows I'll kick her ass in sparring" winking as both Hilary and her joke around, Alicia thanking Hilary for her time before she leaves the ring.

While Kelly's gave a video message to the FCBA Network, telling them "I know people are writing me off as they always do, with everything going on in the FCBA, for all those thinking I will go quietly you are dead wrong" sitting up in her seat with a piercing stare at the camera.

Giving a message to Hilary, Kelly says "Hilary I know you think that you are going to use me to springboard your career back up the rankings, you will learn just how good I am" switching the camera off after making point firmly.

Fight night, out comes Hilary first with Rebecca and cut woman Eva Carneiro behind her, Hilary looking in a good mood as she waves to her fans, a cheeky grin on her beautiful face ad she walks to the ring.

The American is wearing a white sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves, while her hair is braided as she steps through the ropes into the ring, posing at the center for her fans with her arms in the air, then settling into her corner to warm up.

Kelly heads out with her coach/manager Melinda Messenger beside her, Kelly looking focused as a win here will be major for her career at this stage, her fans are in full voice as the ever popular Page Three legend still has a big fan base.

She is wearing a navy blue sports bra, Union Jack pattern trunks to celebrity her British nationality, blue gloves and shoes, her hair is tied into a ponytail as she climbs through the ropes, pounding her chest with her right glove as she stands in her corner looking out to the crowd.

The referee brings the fighters together, they look to be measuring each other up as they look over their opponent, Hilary more toned and taller, Kelly more compact and a real powerhouse now at this stage of her career with her curvy body.

Touching gloves respectfully with their opponent, the two fighters nod to each other before jogging to their corner, knowing this is all business as they wait for the bell, which rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Kicking off the action behind their gloves, Hilary the more mobile already as she moves around the more straightforward coming Kelly, jabs digging into cheeks as they try to set their range on the opening moments.

Ducking under a jab as she seems to have gotten Hilary where she wants, Kelly land several brawny body blows, bumping her ample chest into her taller opponent as she looks to herd her to the outside of the ring, where Hilary is being forced to fight on the inside.

Where Kelly thrives as she lands in short sharp body shots, keeping Hilary near the ropes as the Girls Friday fighter can only really clip her across the sides of her head, some of Kelly's punches are borderline on the waistband of Rhoda's trunks, getting a bit of a rise from Rebecca as she is yelling at the referee to keep watch.

After two minutes of this tough inside fighting, finally Hilary is able to nudge Kelly back enough to get into space, rifling a double jab into the glamour models face, followed by a right cross after she sidesteps to the left a straight throwing Brook.

Hilary comes on strong in the final moments with her rhythm starting to get going at mid range, the bell rings to end the action with Kelly the happier though, controlling the action beautifully for her coach.

Round 2:
Doubling up her jab more as she doesn't want to be charged down as easily, Hilary is creating more openings too for her right to pound into the face of Kelly, whose not closing the gap between them as easily.

A one-two punch combo snaps back the head of the Brit, who now finds herself being sent back to the outside part of the ring, Hilary controlling the ring center as she is starting to throw more volume now she is looking much more comfortable.

Though Kelly doesn't sit back, getting several big overhand punches in to the cheeks of her opponent, before getting shoved back towards the ropes, trying to get inside is hard when you are simply being outworked, with Kelly not the volume puncher she once was as a lightweight.

Instead she has to settle for moving more side to side, waiting for her chances as she tightens her guard up, taking more punches on her gloves as she bides her time, seeing the chance to strike back as she parries a left cross to step in with a left straight into the mouth of Rhoda, a right hook follows to turn the head of the American.

Who now finds herself in a fire fight in the final part of the round, Kelly looks to be hitting harder on the inside, even sneaking in some of her JMD flavoured punches across the boobs of Hilary to make her grit her gumshield.

At the end of the round Hilary has most likely tied things up on the scorecards, though she isn't pleased getting smacked across her breasts, Rebecca telling her that she has to suck it up and expect anything from Kelly.

Round 3:
Both are starting to throw in more combinations, though Kelly is being beaten to the punch more often then not by the quicker hand speed of Hilary, who looks in good form now as she knocks back the head of Kelly with a few more one-two punches.

Dipping down and using her left shoulder to bump back Hilary, Kelly uses her extra weight to unbalance her opponent, slugging her to the face with an overhand left then a right hook that sends a little sweat flying off.

Suddenly Rhoda is finding herself being bullied into a corner, needing to tighten her own guard as Brook is barking out with effort as she adds a little extra sauce on her punches, looking to take the air out the tires with hard body shots landing till she is held onto by Hilary in a tight clinch.

The referee is needed to break them up, Kelly keeping in close as she doesn't want Hilary to get so easily away, getting popped on her nose though with a double jab as she is too quick to rush forwards, making her need to retreat back as Rhoda gets off the ropes.

The final minute of the round is a more mixed affair, Kelly trying to close the distance on Hilary, taking more punches to the top of her head to get herself in close enough to work, forcing the issue with her American counterpart as they both plant their feet more to work at midrange.

At the bell Kelly thuds her gloves together, showing a little frustration of her own after a strong start, wondering where it went though as Hilary showed her own toughness, though there's a pink hue forming on the body of Hilary, showing Kelly's punches are working well.

Round 4:
Sticking and moving more as told to her by her coach, Rhoda is giving Brook a new problem to deal with as Kelly seems too slow to change direction, getting her feet planted to let her hands go, but Hilary isn't staying around long enough to get the full taste from the Brit.

The tactic seems to be working perfectly as Kelly can not get settled into her rhythm, landing a few good solid hooks to the body when she reads Hilary's movement better, still taking flush punches to her beautiful face that is now getting marked up.

A left hook catches Kelly across her jaw, an uppercut follows to snap her head back as now Hilary steps up another gear, bashing back Kelly with a left/right/left straight combo to her face, blood trickles from the nose of Brook as she finds herself shielding on the ropes.

Pulling Hilary into a clinch, Kelly is throwing a short sharp right into the kidney of her opponent, trying to get as much work done as she can inside, the referee warning her to keep it clean as Hilary looks pissed off by the rough housing tactics from Brook.

Who is getting a little more success as Hilary let's her temper guide her after being so disciplined, digging away through the others guard as they finish the round toe to toe, the crowd are loving it, even if the coaches are not too thrilled by the shootout nature of what they are seeing.

Sitting on their stools after the bell rings, both women are getting washed down as their coaches advise them to keep focused, Kelly needing her nose to be patched up as the bleeding was running down her chin by the end of the round.

Round 5:
Working around the center of the ring as Hilary looks to have regained her composure, Kelly trying to close her down but taking blows right around her face with too much ease for Rhoda, making the nose bleed again after a double jab lands on it.

Kelly misses with an overhand left as Hilary steps back out the way, then shows a nice quick step forwards with a right square on the nose, that brings a tear to Kelly's eyes BEFORE A LEFT HOOK SENDS KELLY ONTO HER KNEES!

The Rhoda fans are in full voice chanting as Hilary pounds her chest with her right glove staring hard at Kelly, then jogging to the neutral corner, 1...2....3.....4.. Kelly gets up to her right foot, left still kneeling as she wipes blood from her nostrils, 5...6.. Looking a little shaky as she stands up, 7...8.. Nodding to the referee she can continue as she walks to them.

Kelly is allowed to fight on, unwisely she tries to charge Hilary, who dances back out the way of a left hook, slamming in two rights into the face of Brook, then a left hook across her cheek to get a cry of pain from the smaller woman.

Who finds herself being beaten back to the ropes with a flurry of punches, her guard is leaking punches as the middle rope seems to be keeping Kelly up as she sits on it, THE REFEREE HAS SEEN ENOUGH, STEPPING IN TO WAVE THE FIGHT OFF! KELLY DEEMED DEFENSELESS!

Winner Hilary Rhoda TKO Round 5

After:
A good well done tonight for Hilary, though not ended with one of her trademark knockouts, it's a solid win for her to keep her in the contendership argument, she sportingly checks on Kelly to make sure she is OK.

Kelly is claiming she could have fought on, though even her coach Melissa looks like she suspects that is wrong judging by the worried expression on her face as she steps into the ring to cheek on her fighter, thanking Hilary for helping her get Kelly back to her stool.

Returning to her own corner, Hilary is met by a big hug from Rebecca, who tells her she did brilliant at the end, though maybe a few issues to sort out were highlighted at the start, with Kelly giving her problems on the inside.

After the fighters are cleaned up they both come to the center for the final announcement, Kelly nods to Hilary to show her respect before the winner gets her left arm raised in the air by the referee, Hilary all smiles as she pumps her right fist in the air to show how ecstatic she is over this win.

With help from Melinda, Kelly heads out the ring to lick her wounds, maybe sadly for Kelly she might need to accept a gatekeeper role in the division, her shoulders are slumped slightly as she looks worried herself what her future is with all the moving parts around her, but Kelly has upset the odds several times before to be on top of a division, has she got one last run in the tank?

In the ring Hilary thanks her supporters as she heads to give side of the ring to blow kisses to them, taking in their applause as her coaches clap her too, looking forwards to what 2021 has in store for them.

For now it's time for Hilary to leave the ring and focus on the New Years party it seems while talking to Rebecca and Eva, joking about Eva's ability to handle drink as the smaller woman looks a little embarrassed by it, happy times ahead for them though as this bad year is nearly over for them.
