Samia's Samurai vs Dani's She-Devils 3

Birmingham, U.K.

Needing to win to keep the match alive, Amy Adams’ conqueror Nikki faces young Lucy, who lost to Vanessa White after being in control of the fight early on.

Nikki is typically cocky pre-fight, “I don’t care that it’s 0 – 2! I’m not gonna lose to this little worm – In fact, I’m ready to knock her out quick as I can!” Lucy stays cool, “Don’t like big-mouthed girls – and that mouth is big!”

Round 1

Nikki starts well, using her height and reach, and she’s finding Lucy’s face a little too often for the American’s comfort, and she soon has the younger girl covering up on the ropes. Nikki needs to switch to hitting Lucy’s body, but she’s a girl who likes to damage her opponent’s face, so she’s wasting effort with Lucy blocking punches with her gloves, and, as she tires towards the end of the round, the She-Devil punishes her with some nice hits to her ribs.

Nikki takes round 1

Round 2

Lucy has been encouraged by the results she achieved late in the first, and she is soon inside Nikki’s reach, cuffing away nicely to her ribs and flanks, with the Brit flailing her arms, not really sure what to do at first, then holding on, but not tightly enough to stop the little girl from hurting her inside. The ref breaks them, but there is little respite for Nikki, with little Lucy pumping her snappy little punches into that ribcage, the Brit responding in the end by fighting back, and she manages to connect with a couple of fairly ungainly looping hooks as the round ends.

Lucy springs a surprise to take round 2

Round 3

Lucy got caught late in the second, and she has a little bruise swelling under her left eye, and that’s bothering her, as she keeps her left glove up in protection, trying to lead with her right, which isn’t working, as Nikki thuds her stern left jab over the top of Lucy’s lead, popping it onto her mouth, her cheek, her nose – pretty much where she can. Hale’s staggering slightly, and Nikki closes in on her, rocks her with that straight jab again, then gets her with the right, the American’s knees buckle, and she slowly crumples to the canvas, taking a 6 count. The brunette gets up again, but is finding it tough to defend herself properly, and she takes a beating on the ropes before the end of the round.

Nikki’s round – and Lucy’s looking messy.

Round 4

Nikki clearly feels she has the fight in her pocket now, and allows Lucy to land a few punches to her body in the opening seconds, but the smaller girl looks spent, is easily muscled away, into the ropes and punched once, twice, three times to the face, Nikki quietly and patiently going about her business here, looking for gaps in Lucy’s defence, then winging a punch into it, face, body, side of the head – they’re all going in, and they’re all landing, but the kid stays on her feet even though she has taken a shellacking all round.

Another round for Nikki.

Round 5

This fight should be stopped, really, but Nikki is allowed to land again to Lucy’s face with those solid left jabs, then she whistles an arcing right hook over the girl’s guard, not landing it cleanly enough for a total KO, but enough to drop her to the canvas again, and Lucy’s counted out as she collapses backwards trying to get up.

Nikki Sanderson knocked out Lucy Hale in round 5, leaving the She Devils 2 – 1 ahead.

Cocky Nikki strides around the ring after her win, crowing, “Who’s next, eh? Which of Dani’s girls is fit to face me?”
