BOXING AFTER DARK

Before: Romijn a big, athletic slugger, looks to reposition after a long layoff, selecting a smaller brunette in time honored tradition for a tune up. Holt with lean supple moves, clever hands and quick feet can’t be discounted, but she admits the blonde’s power advantage, “I can’t let Becky zero in. Everything’s got to be 2 and out--I’m not going to just stand there.” Romijn in black sports bra, yellow bikini bottoms, Sandrine in black sports bra, black aerobics bottoms.

During R1: Romijn on the stalk--Holt true to her word, steps around her for, bending at the waist, reaching into Becky’s tummy with the rangefinder, then meting out of range, final minute, Holt moving side to side at the ropes, walks Romijn into a slashing right hand across the mouth, clasps an open palm left upside the head and drifts another right to the chops as the startled blonde staggers back. Romijn grinning at the bell like she’s not hurt--round to Holt.

R2: Sandrine loose and jangly with her arms, often keeping her hands low, making Rebecca miss with upper body movement and constant footwork. Slinging backhand jab insistently against Becky’s tummy--corner yelling at the blonde: “Don’t let her touch you!” Romijn not getting shut out but it’s all single shot stuff, catching Holt only after brunette’s made a move--Becky can’t get snap on her punches. Holt getting off in lanky combinations, galloping her fists against Becky’ torso,. Clapping the loose left off the blonde’s face, then pivoting around to avoid the receipt--round to Holt.

R3: Sandrine opens with that nuisance jab into the stomach, just laying it in, walking away as Becky’s frustration mounts. At the midway point, Holt potshots Romijn on the way in, drifting in and down with a sucker punch right hand and DOWN GOES BECKY! Romijn to one knee, takes 8, nods to the ref and goes after holt with a vengeance. Sandrine backing away, swats the wide left, drills the straight right between the eyes--lands this duo repeatedly as Romijn wanders awkwardly forward and ROMJIN GOES DOWN! Staggering past Holt to the ropes--Becky takes a knee and stares out at the crowd, arms in the ropes as she struggles to regain her composure. Ref checks her once again, Romijn glassy-eyed insists she’s fine and on comes Holt! Sandrine lashing into a looping overhand right to the eye drapes Romijn ropeside--Becky with her hands at her stomach, staring in disbelief as Holt puts it together. Lanky lefts and rights lick accurately and hard across he blonde’s pretty face as she leans helplessly into the ropes. ROMIJN DOWN AGAIN! This time on all four as, sideways to the ropes and IT’S OVER! Sandrine Holt smacking down a stunned Becky Romijn as the crowd roars. KO3 Holt.

After: Debbe Dunning upset as Holt not only wins, but kicks the crap out of a blazingly overconfident Romijn in 3 blistering rounds. Textbook dissection--Holt working off her jab and movement, found right hands early and often and managed to pile up on a shell-shocked blonde before Romijn knew what hit her.
