CJ Perry vs. Ruby Rose(Words: Front Street / Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE:

FCBA debut for Aussie brunette Ruby comes against an athletic blonde CJ, who's FCBA career may have been short circuited due to the collapse of her stable. But, if Perry's thinking of turning heads at the expense of the Aussie, then Rose has some news. "Sure, it's my first FCBA fight. But, I've got plenty of experience in the ring. I can beat HER. And I'm GOING to beat HER."

"Ruby is one of those girls who's just been LUCKY," says CJ. "She got management before she ever had a fight and she's nice and cozy in a stable when more talented girls like ME are struggling for fights as indies. Well. Tonight, I'll show everyone why I should be managed instead of HER."

ROUND ONE:

Blonde is on the move immediately. No doubt about CJ's athleticism and it's on display as she bounces and jabs and makes things as miserable as possible for Ruby in her debut. First minute sees the blonde TOYING with the brunette and making it look like this might get ugly. Rose, though, begins to get the lay of the land shortly thereafter. She's working her feet, cutting the ring, using her own jab to locate before following on with right hands. Second minute is much closer, with both fighters scoring. By the final minute, it's Ruby who's actually having the better of things. She's able to run Perry to ground much more often, and, when she can contain the blonde, she can score points boxing her. For her part, CJ still somewhat effective when she's not in open canvas, but it's clear the terms that benefit her most are those involving a war of movement. When the bell rings, it's close, but it's CJ who opens the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

More of the same and it becomes clear that terms are going to be everything in this fight. When Perry's on the move, she's not only getting the better of things, but MUCH the better of things. She's snapping jabs, stopping and popping, piling up points with both hands. But. When they're in close quarters, it's going much better for Ruby. When Rose can get the jab on target, everything else works. She can follow on with right hands, build combinations, create points. And, in the second, both fighters get some but not all of what they want. Result is another closely-fought stanza. Neither fighter is able to build any sort of a lead and things are in doubt right up until the final half minute. Fortunately for CJ, though, she's able to spend most of that time on the move, and that means she can score enough points to grab the round close and stretch her lead to 20-18.

ROUND THREE:

Same again, with Perry bouncing all OVER the place early as Ruby works hard to contain and get to work with that jab. And, for the first minute of the stanza, she's completely frustrated. Perry's out in space and staying there, defying efforts to cut the ring. Finally, though, Ruby's able to do it, and, when she does, BOOM! A SCINTILLATING right hand from Rose and CJ is HURT! Perry stumblin', bumblin', fumblin'...but staying on her feet. On, however, comes RUBY! Rose letting the hands go in a MAJOR way, POUNDING the blonde back into the ropes and absolutely THUMPING her. CJ hanging on in a high guard, fire sale on the body. Ruby buying a little, but not much. Mostly, she's working upstairs looking to turn out the lights. But, she can't get it done. Perry holds on to the bell, but, when it rings, it's the Aussie brunette who's won it wide and cut the blonde's lead to 29-28

ROUND FOUR:

Rose absolutely TASTING her first FCBA win as she starts the fourth. She charges out of the corner and goes right after CJ, damning any and all torpedoes. Perry giving ground, playing for time to get those athletic legs back under her, but Ruby giving her no time and no space, staying right in her face and committing on each and every punch she's tossing at the blonde. Perry managing it all fairly well, slipping and blocking a lot of the fire coming her way...BOOM! Straight right hand from Ruby and DOWN GOES CJ! Perry blown to her back by an absolutely BRUTAL right hand! Ruby wastes no time getting to a neutral corner to watch and wait. Perry stares up at the referee, eyes wide and blinking as he begins the count. At six, she rolls to her belly, but, she can get no further! She's still face down on the canvas when the count passes her by, making your winner by KO4 Ruby Rose!

AFTER:

Ruby smiling broadly in the post-fight, because that really couldn't have gone much better. "I knew she'd come out and run around," says the brunette. "But, she wasn't going to be able to run all night. And, I knew that once I got her, I'd GET her. And, that's exactly what I did."
