Lily Aldridge (Lioness Club) vs. Emily DiDonato (Fates Boxing)

Lily Aldridge: 5’8”, 33 years old, 6-3 FCBA, 6 KO.

Emily DiDonato: 5’10”, 27 years old, 3-3 FCBA, 3 KO

Before: This fight is a perfect opportunity for both of these girls to get off to a good start for the new year. Lily Aldridge is looking to pick up a win in her tenth fight in the FCBA, while Emily DiDonato hopes to possess a record over .500 for the first time in her career.

Lily handles the press first. “Look, DiDonato has won three straight, but they’ve all been against subpar opponents. I’m her first real challenge at lightweight, and while I respect her as a model, I’m not letting her beat me. She’s going to remember what losing feels like tonight. That’s a promise.”

Emily’s interview is cool, but confident. “Aldridge is the best opponent I’ll have faced in the past few months. But I’m going to bring the fight to her tonight. I don’t want to go down on her terms.”

Aldridge comes to the ring wearing a laced red lingerie set with white gloves, hair up in a loose ponytail. DiDonato wears a laced black lingerie set with red gloves, hair in a tight ponytail.

Round 1:

Emily comes out of the gate pursuing Lily, clearly wanting to follow through on her pre-fight promise of wanting to bring the fight to Lily. Aldridge blocks Emily’s early shots and easily evades the slightly taller brunette, connecting on a pair of body shots before Emily can adjust. Lily backs off and Emily lunges, trying to make contact but Aldridge dodges and sticks a solid right straight into DiDonato’s lips, leaving DiDo shocked. Aldirdge pounces and starts plugging away on Emily’s body until DiDonato clinches and the ref breaks the hold. The two models start circling, trading shots while keeping their distance. Neither woman able to consistently find much more than a solid block from the other, though Emily gets a single shot through just before the round ends. The bell rings, and Lily takes the first on points, wide.

Round 2:

DiDonato comes out of her corner much more slowly this round, clearly having received an earful from the Fates staff about not being overly aggressive. Aldridge comes out with a bit of bounce, hoping to continue her work from the previous round. Emily using her jab and slightly longer reach to keep Lily on her feet for most of the opening minute, but Lily doesn’t seem to mind darting in and out of DiDo’s range. Just after the minute mark, Aldridge closes the distance and connects with a punch to Emily’s chest before getting a clean punch in on her belly, causing Emily to groan. A wry smile flashes across Lily’s face as Emily immediately returns the favor, following up with a punch to Lily’s chest right after finding her belly. Emily trying to corral Lily into a corner, but Aldridge is too slippery for her, and escapes. The two start feinting, and Lily bites first, allowing DiDonato to connect with a shot to Aldridge’s chin, but Lily blocks Emily’s next punch and hits her in the mouth, momentarily stopping Emily and forcing her to retreat a bit moments before the bell rings. Both women head to their corners, and the round is a draw.

Round 3:

Both fighters comfortably get out of their corners for the round and immediately start circling each other, trying to get their opponent to flinch first. Emily more cautious than the first two rounds, and starts to throw punches and then immediately backing off. Lily managing to deflect most of Emily’s punches, save a powerful pair that manage to connect with Lily’s body. Aldridge feints to close the distance and Emily tries to anticipate it, but misjudges Aldridge’s speed and gets met with a punch right into the jaw, causing her to back off momentarily. Lily tries to capitalize with a nasty hook, but Emily gets out of the way at the last second before popping Aldridge in the jaw. Lily staggers slightly, and Emily follows up into Lily’s body. The Victoria’s Secret model prevents Emily from decisively gaining the upper hand by firing back as the bell dings, ending the round in favor of DiDonato, close.

Round 4:

The two brunette models come out of their respective corners, ready to go after each other again. Emily tries to close the distance to get an early advantage, but Lily remains evasive while popping punches to keep DiDonato at bay. DiDonato starts to feint with her right and left, but Aldridge doesn’t bite. Emily seems perfectly content for the round to stay mellow until Lily starts ramping up the pressure in the second minute. Aldridge connects with a quick one-two combo that finds Emily’s belly, forcing her to grimace. DiDonato tries to counter, but Lily swiftly dodges out of the way and slams another right into Emily’s gut. DiDo gasps and tries to cover up but Lily sends a quick hook that gets Emily’s jaw and down goes DiDonato! Fates gasps as Lily goes to a neutral corner and the ref starts his count. DiDonato stirring as the ref hits three. Four. Five. Emily picks her head off the canvas. Six. Seven. Up on one knee. Eight. Nine. Emily stands up just before the ref counts to ten. Lily has an annoyed look on her face as the ref checks in to make sure DiDonato can continue. He backs off and the action resumes again. Aldridge tries to corner DiDonato so she can finish her off, but Emily keeps her jab working well enough so that she survives the round. Aldridge takes the round on points, wide.

Round 5:

Aldridge bounces out of her corner, clearly knowing that she nearly knocked out DiDonato last round. Emily still visibly out of sorts after the beating she took last round, and tries to sit back and utilize her jab to keep Lily at bay. Except Emily’s punches are a little too slow, as Lily darts around them, gets a strike in, and bounces out without much punishment for the first minute. In the second, Emily tries to take the initiative, landing a punch straight to Lily’s mouth, forcing Aldridge to retreat. Emily pursues, and gets creamed by a right hook by Aldridge! DiDonato gets her guard up before Lily can punish her too hard, but Lily gets several body shots in as she forcing DiDonato into the ropes. Aldridge gets in several punches before DiDo finally is able to clinch, and the ref is forced to break the hold. DiDonato again tries to keep her distance for the final forty-five seconds of the round, and when the bell rings, it’s another round to Lily on points, wide.

Round 6:

As Emily gets out of her corner, it’s clear that she can’t take another round like either of the previous two from Aldridge. Lily immediately notices it, and wastes no time in going after her opponent. DiDonato keeps her guard up, counterpunching to prevent Aldridge from closing the distance and punishing her body. Lily finds a steady rhythm: dart in, fire two or three punches, back off. Once. Twice. Three times. And gets a nasty jab to the lip as she pulls back one time too many. Emily moves in and slugs a left to Lily’s gut, getting her opponent on her back foot for the first time in a while. Aldridge does not let DiDonato capitalize too much, and the two women start circling, jabbing at each other and feinting at a less frantic pace than the previous rounds. The bell dings, and Emily picks up the round on points, close.

Round 7:

Both fighters are show signs of the fight when they both are slow to get out of their respective corners. Emily picks up where she left off the previous round, getting her jab going early, and she’s finding Lily a lot more this round. Aldridge lands the occasional counter, but Emily perfected the quick strike and quick retreat that Lily showed earlier in the match, and gradually corrals the smaller model into the ropes before landing some punches to Lily’s belly. Aldridge able to fire a pair back into DiDonato’s midriff before she’s forced to clinch and the ref breaks the hold. The two women start circling again, trading jabs, until late in the third minute Emily gets a solid shot to Lily’s ribs and follows up with a hook that clips Aldridge’s chin just before the bell rings. Emily takes the round on points, wide.

Round 8:

DiDonato comes out with a fierce look on her face, clearly in her second wind. Lily not looking as bad as Emily did earlier, but clearly the momentum has shifted into Emily’s favor. The two women begin the round by circling, each jabbing to try and prevent their opponent from getting too aggressive. Emily feints with her right, but Lily predicts it and gives DiDo a jab to the chin, forcing her to back off and continue circling. Emily feints again, and Lily fires another punch, but this one only hits the air. Emily plugs leather into Lily’s chest and body as the Victoria’s Secret model gets her guard up, and gets pummeled into the ropes before she can clinch and force the ref to separate them. DiDo keeps up the pressure, jabbing and feinting, keeping Aldridge on the retreat until Emily just clocks Lily with a right hook to start the third minute! Aldridge gets twisted, and DiDonato pounces, teeing off of Lily’s body. Emily pounds a trio of quick strikes to Lily’s belly before connecting with a massive left hook. Aldridge stumbles, and Emily cleans up with a picturesque right uppercut that snaps Lily’s head back and sends her to the ground. DiDo retreats to a neutral corner, and ref counts. Three. Four. Lily’s head moves. Five. Six. Seven. Lily lifts her glassy eyes up. Eight. Aldridge gets a hand under her. Nine. Lily collapses back to the canvas. Ten. Your winner by KO8, Emily DiDonato!

After:

A visible look of relief crosses Emily’s face and that of Fates as she picks up the win and obtains a record above .500 for the first time in her career. DiDonato gets her gloves removed before going over to Aldridge to check in. Lily’s eyes are still distant, but she briefly embraces DiDo from the floor before getting helped up and out of the ring.

“Emily took it to me tonight. I thought I had her in the fourth, but she’s a tough fighter.” Lily’s post-fight press meeting shows the toll she took in her fight, slowly speaking and some pain coming through with each word. “I wish her the best. Clearly the 2017 Emily is gone and she’s here to fight.”

“I just didn’t want to start the year on a bad note.” Emily tells the press. “I got knocked out my first three fights. I didn’t like it. So I had it in me to get back up. And she pushed me tonight and took the fight to me early. She’s a great fighter, and Lily has many great fights ahead of her!"
