BEFORE: "Of all our wayward sisters who've been set adrift over the years," Theron says at podium, "Mandy's the one I had the highest hopes for. I'm just so proud to see her landing on her feet and kicking butt. I also see a lot of the Krusher foundation still standing, and it's serving her well. Gonna be fun: I've worked a lot with Moore in the gym, so we're well familiar with each other. She's definitely progressed to the point where a 70% effort on my part might not cut it. Gonna have to give 85% at least!"

Moore grinning - she knows when CT's at play. Mandy lugging around a dog-eared, spine-cracked old copy of Cat Bell's book "Beating Charlize": it's still considered the bible where processing the golden goddess is concerned. "I go to sleep with this thing," Mandy smiles, holding up the battered booklet. "I think I have the chapter on Theron's body memorized! Seriously, this is why you get into this crazy game: the chance to fight a beautiful, strong, Oscar winning actress in her prime. Once we exchange, the butterflies will be gone. Then I'll show her just how far I've come!"

CT in green bikini; yellow gloves; tidy little battle bun. Moore in dark purple bikini; black gloves; battle bun a little looser - strands of hair framing face.

During R1: Stand up boxing - both women working behind the jab. CT a little more relaxed - she's showing poke, pivot-stepping to her left. As Moore gets off, CT's turning torso-right just a smidge - rolling the shots with her left shoulder, tucking her chin in behind it and pivoting sharply left, evading much of the work. Down the stretch, Theron counters off the shoulder-roll, driving a straight right clean to Mandy's chin. Moore's legs give a shimmy - she reels back on her heels - eyes blinking in astonishment as Theronicus Rex makes her statement.

R2,3: Mandy cautious - boxing behind rigid hands-up dukes: Theron's wheeling freely, picking apart the defences. Charlize showing jabs to body and head; driving in long, straight right hands into midriff; lashing wide, clouting hooks to ear. Moore outboxed, but she's following the book on CT in spots: dipping in close, deploying both hands to ribs/waist, looking to freeze Charlize in order to beat her jugs. (Pg. 42 of Cat Bell's book, to wit: "You've got to beat Theron's breasts like you're working putty!")

R4,5: Moore starting to get more of her own way. Jabbing just enough to get inside Theron's jab - Moore's bouncing heavy leather off ribs and tum, bunching CT up. Much of these rounds fought forehead-to-forehead, guard-on-guard as women bump n' slug. Mandy winning grunts from Charlize via tuff, short-shrug left hooks to paunch: Theron slugged to ropes for the first time, raising her hands to pull Mandy's head down. Moore managing to wrestle her way into Theron's rack in spots - pounding the putty on Charlize, making her grimace.

R6: CT with a nice little 'wipe' parry: as Mandy throws righty, CT's left wipes at the incoming punch, directing it off course past Theron's right shoulder; Charlize countering with a short, pounding right to right side of Mandy's face. Works wonders early: Moore stricken, knees buckled at several points...only Moore's big girl legs keep her upright. Theron punishing Mandy thereafter, dishing lanky to flanks and moving Moore back. Mandy with a measure of revenge late, slugging side to side off the ropes and catching Theron as blonde's opening up. CT's legs buckle, forcing her to clinch as Moore denies the Theron clean up attempt.

R7: Look at Mandy bang! Moore gritting her teeth, hooking off the jab and backing CT up: Moore manufacturing a number of productive slugging sessions as Theron leans against ropes. Charlize half-assin' a little here...face-in-gloves against ropes, rolling torso as Mandy beats at presented flanks: Moore's working while Theron's languishing. Charlise grimacing, reaching for Mandy after Moore's gotten off thick, pulling brunette head and tying up: blonde clearly trying to bog her girl down in a blunt Moore 7th.

R8: Theron stabilizes her front - renegotiating distance with Mandy to keep the fight mid-ring. Theron back to the productive shoulder-roll and pivot routine - jabbing Moore into compliance, turning her right flank. Mandy aggressively forward, but not releasing her hands on account of the Theron footwork. Golden opportunity to further reduce the Theron torso slips past as CT rights the ship.

R9: Wipe counter from Charlize sees her place that choppy little right hand onto right side of Mandy's face: Moore's legs spasm...she's steppin' in fence post holes, desperately shook. Give Mandy credit...she gets herself together, lowers her head to slap shellack against Theron's waistline, once again forcing blonde to back off rather than finish. Charlize smarting - reluctant to close and bang...it's actually Mandy coming forward the rest of the way, trying to make the fight.

R10: Oh. They. SLAM. Away! Pitchin' n' catchin'...tall girls plant, bend forward, start sloppin' it side to side with big, sweeping lefts and rights. First minute one of the best of the year...crowd screaming as haymakers fly and it's BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Theron clipped a hurtling right hand in the melee - she wobbles, face suddenly distraught and she's on all fours as Mandy's bellowing down. Shabby 8 Charlize: Theron lips parted, eyes blinking, hair in her eyes as ref checks her out, then ON COMES MANDY! Moore hopping in, right hand well back as she leans forward and POURS the wallop to Charlize. Theron reeling back into ropes, featuring the right uppercut, then bending forward to turn over the lashing hook. Great clobbering sheets of shellack! Big girls just blazing away and MANDY'S hurt! Moore staggers away as her skull is bounced a right hand: Theron groggily forward, lifting her left mitt into Mandy's tits. Brawling slugfest staggers to ropes as Charlize falls into Mandy, then pushes off to work at her. Pace slows, but punching still lethal as girls dip to one side, load up that hand, then twist into the punch they hope will end it. Sizzling stuff - goes to the bell: they're still blasting away mindless as ref rushes in. 10th scored 10-9 Mandy as CT's slugging comeback erases the 10-8: Theron takes a close UD10.

After: Hugs, animated chatting in the aftermath: Moore beaten, but slugging for respect from her one time mentor. "I can't help but feel a little bit responsible for how Mandy's come around," says battle-weary Charlize in postfight. "She gave me everything I could have wanted tonight - hurt me, showed me the floor - that was some kind of fight. I do - I see parts of myself in her game, and I couldn't be happier to have been pushed so hard tonight. Hats off to Mandy - she deserves it...and how good did I look tonight, too?"
