BEFORE: Bjorlin pushy with Landry in prefight photo ops: Nadia's always been front-and-center about her ambitions where Ali's concerned. "What I do against Ali will define my career," Nadia says in prefight. "Like it or not, I'm measured against her, compared with her, and if I want to come out on top, I've got to beat her in the ring. I've started that process, but we've always said that crushing Landry is a long term, multi-stage affair. Every chance I get to put my hands on her is a chance to push her that much closer to the sidelines."

Landry brooding at podium: she's been nibbled at in the past - even had serious rivals - but no-one's ever shown the kind of commitment to her destruction that Bjorlin has. "This girl's a gnat," Ali says, blazing eyes saying differently. "She's a nuisance, not a threat. There's some body type similarity, so matchmakers blow things out of proportion, but they're not looking at the whole picture. If they did, they'd see this kid's a wannabe - a daytime girl with primetime dreams - it just ain't gonna happen. I'm Ali Landry: Nadia should be bowing her head in my presence, not talking about sidelines and stuff."

During R1: ACTION! Crazy, haymaking exchanges as girls crouch, look to duck under the other's wallop, then erupt to catch her beefy in trade. Left and rights - girls just twisting and torquing into vicious wallop. Midway through, Nadia's left wedges into right side of Ali's jaw as Ali's trying to get her hook off: LANDRY'S DOWN! Bjorlin very close in when she lands - plenty of back and leg behind the shot...Ali blown off her feet to sit down hard, back propped on ropes. Landry dazed, swaying at 8: Nadia wades in, eyes beaming...Landry rolls-left with Nadia's left hand...comes back a rising left to Nadia's trunks and BJORLIN'S BUNCHED UP! Ref jumps in as sobbing Nadia sags face-first to ropes, hands at her lap...Ali stone-faced, just doing what a veteran has to do to get out of a very tight jam. Rest of the way, Ali gets her jab unpacked, bouncing Nadia's head around as Bjorlin mounts tepid attacks, still clearly feeling the after-effects.

R2: SLUGGING! Similar duck-and-slug hurtles around the ring - both girls just miss fight-winners over the top. Landry the first to lunge in to clinch, bodying Bjorlin into ropes and cuddling for breaks. Pace slows as Ali dictates tempo via tactical clinches: she's systematically working to body, hooking Nadia's waist, then tying her up. Final minute, Landry looking to Nadia's prodigious rack for points: Ali getting in there with short, smiting blows, tying up, then continuing to jostle jug with well thrown shoulders or side-to-side knuckle-scrubs. Bell: Ali throws a cheap forearm into Nadia's rack, mushrooming the meat...fight delayed as Bjorlin strains to get at her tormentress.

R3: Vicious duck-and-slug again at the open - wild efforts yielding little as girls score glancing blows or miss over the top. Left hook by Ali gets into Nadia's jaw; right hand soon thereafter...Bjorlin getting beat to punches in random action. Landry quick to consolidate: she bodies Nadia into ropes after scoring on her, taking care to throw the left shoulder into Bjorlin's rack upon pushing off. Ali on Nadia at ropes: Landry cycling in the jab, then dipping left to tuck left hooks behind elbow...rolling torso low and to the right, hooking Nadia's mouth off the right foot. Nadia eyes blazing, teeth bared, but she's swinging off her heels for the most part, not getting her weight forward. Halfway through, Ali beats Nadia to short right hands inside, knocking Bjorlin into ropes all loose and blinking. ALI STORMS RACK! OH, she's beating those jugs - baring teeth, keeping elbows in and really going to town. Nadia's jugs flopping and pancaking about - Ali's beating 'em like putty! Bjorlin's right bra-strap gives way under the plowing - snapping up and over her right shoulder as she sags into ropes. Nadia's eyes dimming - she's sitting in strands, helpless as Ali bears down and POURS IT HOME! Heartless, chugging rack attack beats Nadia into stupor - ref has no choice but to body Ali off as Bjorlin's not answering. Brutal TKO3, Ali Landry.

AFter: Landry still seething in the aftermath, making several attempts to get at her rival as officials intervene. Nadia tender, rickety as she's led away. "I rule," Ali emphasizes in postfight, "with an iron fist. Women who want to get in my face, who want to belly-up to me and claim they can surpass me are women who are going to get broken. I took Nadia apart tonight - body and soul. If anyone took a step towards the sidelines tonight, it was her."
