Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Alexandra: 35 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 18-18-1, 17 KO since 2014, Foxfire Boxing

Kennedy: 24 KO, 5’8 (1.73 m), 11-1-0 since 2019, Front Street Boxing

Before: “My manager, The Wiz and I were agreement: I need to start venturing out more often from our home turf at the Asylum Arena,” explains Kennedy McMann in the pre-fight meeting with the press. “I need to better myself by facing experienced lightweights in unfamiliar venues. So here I am, facing off against Alexandra. I know it won’t be easy, but I am determined to show how good I am by winning over her. Nothing personal, Alexandra.”

Alexandra smiles tightly: “Oh, I am sure it’s not personal. I just hope I don’t disappoint you and your management by not being the stepping stone you seem to think I am.”

“I never said that!” the auburn-hair Front Streeter protests.

“But that’s what you are thinking I am: a stepping stone up the Lightweight rankings. I am not offended—you aren’t the first to think of me that way. I advise you I am a very slippery stone and you may well end up on your butt trying to use me,” Alexandra advised.

“Or you could end up on your butt!” Kennedy blurted out.

“I guess we’ll be soon be seeing who goes down and who doesn’t,” Alexandra retorts.

“Yes, we will, see you in the ring,” snapped Kennedy, plainly not apprecating the veteran’s sharp comments.

“We certainly will,” Alexandra said with finality,

On the night of the PPV, Alexandra comes to the ring and removes her robe to reveal a black bikini with white gloves and boots (black laces). Her hair is pulled back in a battle braid. Kennedy then enters the ring and removes her robe, She is wearing an orange bikini with black boots and gloves (orange laces). Her red-brown hair is piled on top of her in in a top knot.

Two fires are cool and collected as they meet the referee, though they do seem to be having a staring contest until the referee demands their full attention. The instructions are completed. The gloves are tapped and they go to their corners. The bell sounds….

R1: Alexandra wastes no time driving her initial punches into Kennedy’s face, knocking the Front Streeter on her heels. Kennedy tries to steady herself, but Alex is attacking the head and body in a rapidly shifting pattern that has Kennedy struggling to keep up. Kennedy getting in some counters, mainly to the sides of Alexandra’s head, but Alex is scoring more often against Kennedy’s chin and jawline. Kennedy hanging in, but she is being banged hard and out-worked by the Foxfire veteran. Bell finally ends the round. Kennedy looking a bit shell-shocked as Alexandra gives her a smirk before turning away. Round to Alexander Daddario wide.

R2: Kennedy much more aggressive this round. At the bell, she is out of her corner and quick to challenge Alexandra at mid-ring, Kennedy finding Alex’s jaw with solid rights and lefts. Alexandra drops back and strikes at Kennedy to the body as she comes forward in pursuit. Kennedy responds with body punching of her own. Rib, bellies and breasts are being hit hard as the two go at it at point blank range, Kennedy able to set her feet for extra punching leverage and she making her hooks tip Alex forward at the waist. Alexandra dropping back a couple of steps, she’s still punching, but Kennedy seems to be gaining a narrow upper hand late in the stanza. Bell sounds and Kennedy McMann emerges a close winner of R2 on the judges’ cards.

R3: Alexandra and Kennedy go right back at it as soon as the bell sounds. They move swiftly to the middle of the ring and start trading punches as they circle and counter-circle around each other. Punches are going to the body early on in the action and Kennedy is again banging Alexandra hard, bending her forward at the waist. Then Kennedy slips a rising uppercut into Alexandra’s chin. Alex goes lurching back and Kennedy lunges in to bang quick rights and lets to the brunette’s jaw. AZLEXANRA GOES DOWN!. Brunette spills onto her backside and looks up in dazed confusion. Kennedy hastens to the neutral corner as the referee counts. Alexandra shakes her head and then struggles to her feet, beating the count at “EIGHT!” Fight resumes and Kennedy quickly resumes her attack, but Alex now has her mitts up to protect her head and she’s hunching up making her body as small a target as she can. Kennedy forced to attack Alexandra’s side ribs and she is pummeling them as round ends. Kennedy McMann wins round wide.

R4: Kennedy eagerly attacking Alexandra as the latest round commences. Alexandra looking to block or blunt as many of the incoming punches as she can. Kennedy trying to confuse Alex by shifting her attack targets from head to body and back again. She’s getting punches through, but not landing any hard enough to get Alexandra back on the canvas. Alexandra not showing any offense this round beyond some sharp jabs to knock Kennedy off balance at times. Round goes easily to Kennedy, though she looks frustrated at not doing more damage this round. Alexandra looking relieved that she was able to hold the younger fighter off.

R5: Kennedy tries a blitz attack this round She flies out of her corner and tries to surprise Alexandra in her own corner. Alexandra fighting desperately as Kennedy slugs away at her to the side of the head and the abs, Alexandra finally manages to circle away from Kennedy’s pressure and Kennedy is forced to give chase. Kennedy closes in on Alex and lunges forward with a big right hand in motion. However Alexandra turns her shoulder to block the right and then swings back with a BIG BOOMING RIGHT UPPER TO KENNEDY’S CHIN! Kennedy’s head snaps back and her arms fall to her sides. BOOM! Second uppercut strikes Kennedy to the chin AND DOWN GOES KENNEDY MCMANN! Kennedy CRASHES onto her back and lies there, stunned. Alexandra heads for the neutral corner Kennedy rolling to her side a referee counts and then staggers to her feet just beating the count at “NINE!” Referee looks Kennedy over and then waves Alex back in. Kennedy now the one covering up and letting her opponent pound her flanks. However time quickly runs out and Kennedy goes back to her corner on rubbery legs as Alexandra watches before she turns away to her own corner Knockdown allows Alexandra Daddario to steal a round that had looked to be going to Kennedy McMann.

R6: Front Street corner crew working hard to revive Kennedy, who is slumped on her stool. At the bell, Kennedy rises from her stool and tries to move with her former quickness. However, Alexandra is moving a whole lot faster and starts pumping shots at Kennedy as soon as she is within range. Kennedy trying to protect her head, but Alexandra is getting through by bobbing and weaving to keep the young fighter off-balance. Kennedy gamely trying to counter the attack, but she is always just a little too slow and is hit repeatedly to the jaw. Then, as Kennedy’s high guard weakens, Alexandra able to blast her way in with a left/right uopercut combo to Kennedy’s chin. Kennedy again hit hard. Suddenly, Kennedy’s legs buckle and DOWN GOES KENNEDY MCMANN! Kennedy crumples on her face, landing at Alexandra’s boot tops as the veteran coolly steps back. Alexandra again heads for the neutral corner and this time Kennedy only able to push herself up to her knees as she hears he referee cry:

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!

THE WINNER: ALEXANDRA DADDARIO DEFEATS KENNEDY MCMANN KO6!

After:

Alexandra acknowledges the cheers of the crowd by walking the ring and waving. She drops by the Front Street corner to give the downcast Kennedy a hug and words of encouragement. Then she speaks to the press:

“Yes, I admit she gave me some serious trouble in quite a few rounds, but I came back and I took her out,” Alexandra says, “I hope she will take it as a learning experience, but, confidentially—winning a hard fight is a lot more fun.”

As for Kennedy, she glumly says, “I suppose you could call it a ‘learning experience’, but the truth is: I lost. I hope to learn from my mistakes, because I certainly don’t like the feeling of being on my knee, not being able to rise, as I’m counted. That just sucks!”

No doubt this fight was a disappointment for young Ms McMann, but she did show she has talent and the power to take an opponent down. Trouble was, Alexandra Daddario has the power to get up and subsequently put Kennedy down twice and the last time she could not bet the count. Hopefully, this will do be a major setback for Kennedy and that she will bounce back quickly from loss. Very nice win for the veteran Alexandra Daddario who did have a rough go of it at times with the younger fighter, but she was able to overcome adversity to get the win.
