Gal Gadot vs Margot Robbie (DC Comics Showdown)

BEFORE:
It’s a showdown for comics fans and recent movie-goers alike, as Wonder Woman faces off against the one-and-only Harley Quinn, with Gal Gadot and Margot Robbie, respectively, fighting to see which DC comic book heroine reigns supreme.

“On comic-book paper, I think there’s no question,” Gal Gadot says first, her black hair running sleek over her shoulders as she smiles at the reporter’s first question. “Woman Woman would totally dominate dear Harley. I’ve got superhuman speed and power, not to mention, I can freakin’ fly. There’s just no question of who wins.”

“Oh, yeah?” Margot chimes in with a jester’s smirk of her own, playing into her character’s insanity a little too realistically. “Well, I’ve got a big freakin’ hammer.”

She pauses as laughter erupts around the press hall. “And I’ve got my wits about smarts. You know, the Joker trained me himself. And we’ve come close to beating Superman. You never should underestimate someone with smarts for brains instead of a golden whip for shits and giggles.”

Gal, however, remains unfazed. “I guess we’ll find out for real tonight. No whips or hammers, of course - just plain, old-fashioned fists. Fortunately for Robbie, we won’t be fighting as our comic-book counterparts. But I still have little doubt I’ll win.”

On regular paper, of course, there are plenty of pros and cons to either fighter in this contest. Gal obviously holds the height advantage of three-inches, but she’s eclipsed by Margot’s younger energy and bulkier frame. We’ll just have to see whether the good girls or villainesses prevail!

Hours later in the arena, Gal and Margot are still milking the contrast for all its worth, entering the hall in their respective characters’ colours, just for a little more fun. Gal shows off a red and blue bikini, top and bottom respectively, going for a golden tiara adorned on her forehead as her trademark Wonder Woman electric guitar music hits the airwaves. Margot goes for something a little electric, crazier, her blonde hair bleached and tied into that dual, signature pigtails as she strides down the ramp in a chaos-painted white and pink cut-off t-shirt, hot denim black shorts for bottoms. Later, she fits on red gloves for this contest, as compared to Gadot’s gold.

Referee takes a bizarre look at either corner, shaking his head for a moment before signaling for the opening bell. HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action! This is your DC Comics Showdown!

ROUND 1:
First round sees both girls not taking the fight too seriously, still smiling at each other as they circle and throw a couple of jabs here, a couple there, all without venom. It’s for the fans, after all, as they put on a show tonight rather than a proper fight in the opening minute, at times barely aiming to hurt the other woman with just a couple of jabs aimed deliberately into their guards. That all changes when Gal lands a crisp combo direct to Margot’s face, drawing a sharp yelp from the Australian blonde’s lips. Margot resetting fast, now with a more dangerous smirk etched about her as she goads Wonder Woman to bring it on. Final minute sees Gadot having to swerve a whole lot more as Margot takes aim for her head and shoulders, reaching wide as she slams a hard hook into the arms to almost throw the Princess of Themyscira backwards. Suddenly, this fight has turned semi-serious, but for now, the bell rings too soon for the ladies to take it up another notch.

ROUND 2:
Gal imposing her height here, using her Amazonian stature to send early, crisp combos into Margot’s arms, of course seeking the blonde’s face behind her guard. Robbie on the other hand looks eager to brawl, keeps pressuring Gadot backwards with constant movement, her forearms and forehead taking a couple of snap punches but nothing to rattle her too bad. Gadot doesn’t get away in time as Robbie POUNCES upon her all of a sudden, that Harley Quinn demeanour all but evaporated as the blonde actress powers a right hook into side of the head, sending Gadot reeling with a groan. Margot’s growling, staying atop of her foe, bunching up the belly as she goes to work on the lanky model’s midsection, even rocking her to the breastplate as Robbie takes control of this fight! Gadot can’t afford to get manhandled like that in there, and finally keeps her distance after getting away from the onslaught, having to concede this round wide to the Joker’s faithful sidekick.

ROUND 3:
Gadot’s getting into the groove now, especially after getting told off by her management in between the rounds. This is a bloody fight, goddamnit, regardless of all those silly costumes and gimmicks. Gadot starts off the third with a bang, an explosion of action forward as she immediately lights up Margot’s face with punches, doing her best to deter another wild charge. Margot’s sufficiently troubled at the beginning, her arms kept tight as she absorbs plenty of punishment, with Gal constantly head-hunting her with long-ranged jabs and successfully scoring on her chin once or twice. Margot’s strength, however, comes with her resilience and never-say-die attitude, much like her titular character she’s currently playing on the big screen. She ROCKS Gadot with a surprising right cross down in the third minute, almost bowling the Israeli fighter over with a sharp gasp to the body. Margot leaps in to secure the kill, back to thrashing punches across Gadot’s lean figure about with lefts and rights into her arms to knock her about and back. Bell, however, rings too soon, meaning it’s Gadot overall who steals the third.

ROUND 4:
Gadot’s frequent springs forward also come with their own risks. The Wonder Woman actress may be pushing 40 but her body is still brimming with energy, one last push forth to take the shorter blonde down. But Margot’s ready for her this time, taking a one-two combo to the guard before PLOWING her own straight cross right into Gadot’s face! OUCH! Gal stunned backwards as her face disappears in leather, more follow-up strikes landing to the side of her cheek before another uppercut grazes her upwards to the chin, and that three-punch combination alone would have been MORE than enough to put a lesser woman down! Margot chases after her foe, swinging rapidly just as Harley would her wooden hammer. She traps Gadot on the ropes down the line, burying stiff thump! to her body before the taller actress successfully clinches up with her, and the two women take turns pushing and pinning each other down whilst exchanging tight punches into their sides. Gadot not looking too good in there when the bell finally rings, clearly bearing the brunt of Robbie’s power and underdog status thus far.

ROUND 5:
More bad news as Gadot still doesn’t know how to handle her opponent’s power, especially when Margot makes a sudden burst of speed towards her in the very first minute, with the Aussie actress determined to end this right here and now! Gadot lets out a shout of pain as she narrowly avoids an overhand haymaker sent directly at her face. She ain’t so lucky thereafter, however, with her arms thrown about in various directions as Margot closes in and starts BLASTING away at every opening she can find! Another chugging shot to the belly bends Gadot over in half, with Wonder Woman herself hoping to clinch up and save her Amazonian ass from an unexpected beatdown, only to get SLAPPED across the face by another right hook, sending Gadot reeling downwards and then onto her back!! It’s a brutal KNOCKDOWN from Margot Robbie!

CLEARLY both women aren’t playing nice any longer! Gadot left smacked silly as she blinks and gasps flat on her back, whilst Margot is already parading herself to all four corners of the ring, blowing kisses and grinning that Chersire smirk that’s befitting her character and personality alike! Gadot ain’t done, however, slowly getting up to her feet by the count of 8, shaking her head with her back glued to the ropes and then nodding at the referee to continue. This fight might be just getting started!

ROUND 6:
Gal on the defensive now but there’s one consolation in the fact Margot looks washed up as well this early on, all bets on that last round being her last but Gadot proving herself a resilience customer. Girls start the round slow as a result, tapping at each other’s heads and only making a lunge at the body for show. Gal, however, has done this Wonder Woman thing far longer than her counterpart, showing off her incredible speed and stamina as she repeatedly bunches up Margot’s face, fast strikes just landing over and over on the nose and lips and chin to throw the blonde’s head back. Robbie’s moving and behaving as though she’s back in the first round, letting out a squeal of rage when Gal unintentionally (or otherwise) targets her chest with a straight hand screaming in outta nowhere. Margot winces, then curses, flies into another crazed charge, hoping to strike lucky a third time. But Gadot easily fends off her assault by moving back and out of range, keeping the pressure on her foe with more fast hands.

ROUND 7:
Margot’s heaving hard as she marches out of the corner for the seventh - gotta give it to her though - she’s been through a whole lot in her brief career in Hollywood, and never giving up is also the way to go in the FCBA. That is, until Gadot rips in a cross through the middle of her arms in the first minute, landing the shot directly to her eye. Margot’s thrown back with a yelp, and before she knows it, her opponent is back on the offensive! Gadot’s streaking in, throwing hands her way, headhunting all over to black and bruise her pretty blonde face. Robbie’s swinging back haphazardly herself, hoping to score a lucky strike, but Gadot’s swerving with the grace and agility of an Amazonian princess, NAILS the big girl with a hook to the cheek, which makes her sputter, before another uppercut to the jawline SEEMS TO DO THE TRICK! Margot left swaying in the wind before COLLAPSING onto her butt, and there we have it: another KNOCKDOWN in this fight, but this time it’s for Gal Gadot!

Gadot throws up her hands in premature celebration, meeting the cheers of the actress’ (and the character she plays) fans all at once, whilst circling back to her corner with equal grace. Meanwhile, Robbie is left rolling on her back and side, making loud grunting noises as she pushes her way up onto her knees to attempt a recovery. The two women couldn’t be more different here, with Robbie making it back to her feet like she’s just undergone a bad class of yoga, bleating and groaning uncouthly the entire way, whereas Gadot is tall and slender and composed in the neutral corner, her eyes calm and affixed on her eventual prize.

There goes the bell again and we still have two more minutes in this round to go! Margot looks set and ready for a comeback, but all those painful noises she made earlier weren’t just for show…. Gadot proves that fact once her first combo snaps the blonde’s head back with barely any resistance, Robbie just taking and taking more punishment along the ropes with her nose constantly shoved upwards and back, her lips getting smooshed in by leather and her body taking a pounding. Another hook across her face seals the deal for the referee, as Margot goes flying and rotating off to one side, left clinging onto the top rope with both her hands, meaning she’s completely abandoned the rest of her defences! The referee decides to JUMP in and end this bad costume party!

Official Decision: Gal Gadot defeats Margot Robbie via TKO7!

AFTER:
Well, now we know who would emerge triumphant for sure if such a battle were to take place! Gal Gadot takes the win after seven rounds of grueling action, looking partially relieved as her hand is raised high by the referee.

No doubt - this was her prophecy from the very beginning, as she strikes a pose in the center of the ring for the cameras to capture this moment and the fanboys to make their case on the toxic online forums.

Margot, on the other hand, is caught by the cameras smiling on her back, despite her nose being turned a bright shade of pink and the rest of her body still throbbing from all the punishment. After the fight is over, it’s back to being on friendly terms with fellow actress Gadot, who comes over herself a little later to help the Aussie girl to her feet.

Who knows? Maybe one day these two might meet for real on the silver screen. For now, they share a brief hug and words of encouragement in the ring, promising to do this again one day for the fans.
