"Peta's given me some of the hardest rounds I've had in my whole career," Charlize acknowledges in prefight. "It's always a good shake up for me and my whole camp knowing we've got a date with Wilson coming up. I'm the better fighter in all areas, but it's a razor thin margin to be sure. I'm curious to see what she's got left."

Theron not alone in that regard - Wilson one of the most feared dark horses of the last five years, but lack of activity and brutal wars when she DOES get dates may have taken a toll.

"Charlize is my ticket back," says the veteran Aussie. "I'm going to use her, and take great pleasure in discarding her when I'm done."

Gentle clockwise rotation midring. Occasional right crosses offered - both adept at leaning back, taking a single fade step back to ride out the power, sliding that front foot to stay in punching position. Charlize takes the first, Peta the second in workmanlike fashion.

R3: Theron first to gamble - pays off for her. CT hooking Peta's firm midriff off the cross, shutting Wilson down - Peta covering up dukes at temples as Charlize gets robust about the hips and flanks of her foe. Hard working stuff - Charlize exhaling hard as she pumps thudding lefts and rights off the thick of Peta's stubborn body - Wilson hammered back one step at a time, tight-lipped under pressure. Good hounding pressure - Charlize stepping-with, hanging her chin out over Peta's shoulder to pull heavy leather up underneath, constantly backing Wilson up. Final minute, Peta issues fight's first clinches - tieing up Theron behind the elbows, blowing hard through pursed lips as she tries to give her throbbing abs a break.

R4: Peta rejecting Theron's advances with a punishing, scolding stick - CT banged back outside, forced to step right and regroup, left eye blinking from hot contact. Peta over to offense, winging a lariat right hand to the ear and coming in hard with the left uppercut - she drives Theron into a corner, immediately grabs up CT's right arm and drives in a few beefy shoulder-blocks to set Theron's head a bobbling. Winded, Charlize cramps up - Peta goes to work muscular. Peta out of the wrap, left arm trapping Charlize' right, right hand pumping up into Theron's sternum over and over with a vicious rooting action. Theron wobbly butt, trying to clinch but Peta palming Char's left shoulder keeps the torso open. Ref's break sees a shabby Charlize taking deep breaths, trying to regroup - hungry Peta marches right in with clanging, short lefts and rights about the ears. Wilson holding and hitting, roughing Charlize up with forearms across the throat, smearing her - CT getting bullied big time. Down the stretch, crowd screaming as weary Charlize goes ragdoll: she'll get tagged a right hand, drape her left arm lifelessly over Peta's shoulder - Wilson shoving Charlize back, palming her, then drifting her a crude left across the chops as Theron slumps to her left - Peta palming to slam away righty again. Bell - Theron shaking her head, disoriented - she gets a vigourous massage of her biceps and thighs during the break as corner tries to bring her around.

R5: Charlize showing marvelous recuperative powers - busted up and hurt last round, she gets on her toes, shows a limber, backhanding jab, steering Peta around the ring. Wilson charging in and bodying up strong, but Theron smart - tieing up as she's driven into the ropes and bogging Wilson down for breaks. Peta gradually henpecked into a resentful shell, covering up rigid, wheels turning as to how to get to Charlize for more roughouse as Theron buys time with her legs.

R6: SLUGGING CHARLIZE! Theron steps to Peta, waves the left and bends into a respect-getting right hand on the chin - Wilson's head cranked hard to port, legs giving a shimmy - Charlize is looking to party. All hooks and crosses from CT as she wades in, eyes glacial, merciless. Peta grunting from rib-raking hooks, arms outstretched, face pained - she's just posing for belting right hands on her face. Peta's back to ropes - Theron bounding forward, raking and lashing - sometimes she'll lead the cross to set up the hook, sometimes she'll bat the hook wide to set up the driving cross. Body and head - Peta ripped and ripped again - cringing on impact, reacting late, breaking down - it's just one statuesque blonde stacking another up and stroking home the hurt. Peta's chin resolute - she takes some gobsmacking shellack this round, she's often stunned, but she soaks it up on autopilot, making Theron spend up all her money in an exhausting sixth. Round ends in a breathless clinch - CT tieing up and bodying Peta into the turnbuckles, making Wilson feel the weight.

R7: Wilson waves the jab, strides in and pulls a thick, sidearm right flat to the pit of Theron's belly, buckling Charlize' tanned shanks. Theron hurt, sucks it up - she drops her right foot back, walks Peta into a swiping hook, drills her the right cross as Wilson's tottering backward. Punches getting more and more hellacious - both women pouring themselves into offense, committing everything in a hellraising seventh! Collapse comes suddenly for Peta - one moment she's slugging her heart out, the next she's a reeling, torso-lolling wreck! Peta staggering to her right, face distraught - happy Charlize walloping away wide right hands ear and skull while rotating, tracking Wilson's crumbling trajectory. Peta wobbling into far ropes, covering up drowsy - ON COMES CHARLIZE! THICK body shots wedge in wet behind elbows! CHOICE uppercuts chug to chest and face, straightening Peta up. HOOKS AND CROSSES! HOOKS AND CROSSES! Theron all-in, pounding away on Peta's staring, battered face - Wilson slumping against ropes, hands dropping to her lap - she's savagely rocked to sleep on her feet as Theron heaps it on. Ref finally bodying a humming CT away - Peta pooling to canvas like so much aging blonde clutter. KO7 in brutal fashion - Charlize Theron.

After: Ruinous beating for Wilson - she's carefully tended to, finally removed from the ring via precautionary stretcher. Charlize can't take her eyes off the crumpled frame of her long-time tormentress: fascinated cruelty from Theron, as if saying to herself "My fists did that!" Theron glowing, thrilled with her dominance in post fight.
