Claire Holt vs Mia Kang (lightweight)

Before: Holt has been a target of Kang’s for over a year. Now that Claire has decided to make a foray into the lightweight division, she’s getting her wish.

During R1. Girls step-to, hands and heads in close as girls lean back in, Claire goes right at her girl. Steady, snapping work from Holt, thick left hooks in behind Kang’s right elbow, snatching rights behind the left elbow and nasty right uppercuts to pick the head up. Mia laying in, getting rocked, standing right in front of Claire, seemingly stunned by the constant, snatching leather. Great punching form from Holt bringing her hands back to the high guard, walking Kang down and punishing her to the bell.

R2: Mia joins the party. Kang can't afford to let Holt beat her on the inside, she muscles up, stands her ground and gives her Aussie hell to the ribcage. Both girls leaning forward behind high guards, using them to budge and bump, then snatching at the waist, behind either elbow. Claire with little swinging Lima-style whip action as she swipes wide at her girl - Mia more apt to bend her knees and dig straight into blonde midsection, or dip the shoulder to rip the uppercut. Holt punching short, inside rips - Kang curling rising lefts and rights snug to jugs late to back the blonde up and take the round.

R3: Good thick contact in Claire’s belly early as Mia shoots a straight right hand from the guard position into the paunch, bobs down/up to power the hook, staying well covered up as she brings her hands back sharp. Holt staggering back, bounces off the ropes, lowering her left hand to use the left shoulder on Kang, pushing up with it, stropping the short left hook downstairs, turning on tight, clouting rights up top - good banging two way as the girls stand in a phone booth and take their turns

R4: Sloppy round as Claire gets “creative”. Messy clinches, Holt pulling Kang’s head, locking up arms behind the elbows, using her short inside punches. Ref constantly breaking the fighters, issuing a steady stream of warnings to an indifferent blonde - she just pushes her way past the man and gets back on. Not much offense from Mia, but good interior defense - she’s standing in the pocket, blocking body shots with her elbows, head shots on her guard, bending at the waist and rolling her torso. Claire the busy, active fighter takes the round, but can’t really hurt Kang this round.

R5: Claire bobs and weaves inside Mia’s loopers, beats her girl to the body with counters up underneath. Kang forced back on the ropes, hands up around her temples and Holt breaks out the crowbar - really squaring away and punishing the beauty in front of her. Claire palming Mia’s guard out of the way, then sampling the wares: belly, ribs and tits are cudgeled Steady abuse builds on Kang, she’s swooning, tries to drape her arms around Holt’s shoulders, but the blonde slugs through the clinch! Claire stepping, letting Mia slump forward into the punches - tight lefts and rights picking up jug, clipping chin as Holt rotates her shoulders and KANG GOES DOWN! Mia on her stomach, body shuddering as she sobs, unable to command her legs - she can’t beat the count! KO5 for Claire Holt in her lightweight debut!

After: Claire showcasing the inside game that served her well in her first fights, pushing her boundaries out again.
