Demi Lovato vs. Hilary Duff

Pair of former Unified Bantamweight Champions, and both have had their FCBA ups and downs, with the blonde having spent five years without management after a six-year run with Lookout! Boxing ended back in 2014, while the brunette lost her first five FCBA fights and struggled along not getting much of anywhere until joining Lookout! in 2016. And, now, here they are. Lookout!'s past, now with Knockout Babes, and the stable's present, meeting between the ropes.

"I'm looking forward to this," says the blonde with a smile. "And, not because of anything to do with Lookout! I had a great run there and this isn't about revenge. It's about a chance to test myself against one of the best. And, she's one of the best."

"Hilary? I have respect for her," says Demi with a nod. "She's physical. She can fight. Now that she's got management again, she's going to be a factor in this division. But. She's not beating ME."

ROUND ONE:

Feeling out process. Both of these fighters have plenty of power. And, both know it. Meaning, it's not a good idea to take a lot of chances early. So. Neither blonde nor brunette do. Instead, they probe, moving the feet, looking for openings, jabbing, gathering intel they can use later. But, while no one's going all in or doing anything RESEMBLING that, there's action. The ladies are working at a decent rate, and leather's being exchanged. It's just that no one's committing on anything right now, nobody's pushing anything. Instead, it's all about that information gathering. Where can I strike later? What's she trying to do? How can I stop that? What tendencies have I seen on video that I'm seeing live right now? And, while all that's going on, nobody's gaining an advantage. And, so it is that, when the bell rings, there's nothing in it. Draw. 10-10 after one.

ROUND TWO:

Grind. That's the word for what happens in the second. Ladies more aggressive now. They've got the info they want, and they're using it to get their respective offenses going. And, the game plans are very, very similar. Work inside. Go tummy. Hammer the flanks, work upstairs, then right back down. Put sturdy body against sturdy body and see which one breaks down first. Blonde and brunette both confident in the result. One of them is wrong, but, in the second, there's no telling which, because, while a ton of heavy leather tenderizes flesh, no one really gains much of an advantage. Both solid frames ship the shell and have no trouble staying afloat. Final fifteen seconds sees Lovato land a good right hand that backs up Duff. Demi follows with a couple of nice flurries to the bell, and that proves the difference. Demi takes it close and leads 20-19.

ROUND THREE:

Right back in the phone booth as blonde and brunette have at one another. BOOM! Right uppercut, Hilary! Just seconds into the round, Duff babifies Demi! Lovato steppin' in fencepost holes! No idea what's holding her up as the eyes are glazed and the limbs are very slow in obeying commands. Duff immediately begins pouring on fire as the ref watches, ready to spring. And, it's quite possible he needs to do that. Demi reeling, hanging on somehow, but taking a THRASHING. Blonde calling in strike after strike looking to get the younger woman out of here, but, somehow, Lovato able to remain on those sturdy legs. By the final minute, she's on the ropes, soaking it up. Ref gets an over the shoulder look from Duff. Whatta I gotta do here? But, he's holds back to the bell. Shutout, Hilary. Even at 29.

ROUND FOUR:

Duff all over Demi. Lovato looking totally wrecked as Hilary pours on the punishment. Ref watching like a hawk now, but Lovato jabbing back in spots, doing enough to stop him from ending things. Hilary resigned to to that fact that he won't, determined to do it herself. She's sitting down on everything, letting the brunette have it to both head and body. BOOM! Right hand, Duff and DOWN GOES DEMI! Lovato splashing to her back in the middle of the ring. Duff raising the hands in victory, then heading to a neutral corner. Ref counting down on Demi...who sits up at six. And manages to get back to her feet at nine. Ref looking closely as he gives the former champ the mandatory...then he waives on Duff. Hilary a buzz saw, battering Demi back into the ropes and thumping her for the remainder of the round. But. At the bell, Lovato still standing. And now trailing 39-37.

ROUND FIVE:

Duff continues beat down of Lovato. Demi has taken a TON of punishment and it looks like a matter of time before it all becomes too much. Brunette game, firing back when she can, trying to stabilize her front, but the legs won't cooperate and Duff continues the pressure, piling up the points and hurt, backing the brunette all over the ring before, about a minute in, pinning her to the cables yet again. Lovato rolling with in a high guard, blocking, slipping, banging back here and there, but, again, taking by far the worst of it. Blonde resolute in her desire to take the brunette out of there, but can't get it done. What she CAN get done is scoring points and continuing to wear the younger woman down. When the bell rings, Duff's got it wide and now leads 49-46 at the half.

ROUND SIX:

Duff slowing noticeably early in the round. She's used a ton of energy trying to get the brunette out of there and she's looking gassed and arm-weary. Demi gives a little ground early, then, BOOM! A straight right hand from the younger woman ROCKS the blonde, sending her wobbling to her right. Lovato, still a bit buzzed herself, lets the hands go anyway. Duff all wobbly-butt, reeling backward, eventually coming to rest against the ropes. Tight earmuff, clearly in desperate trouble. If Lovato only had the legs all the way back under her. But, she doesn't. She's able to bang away, piling up the punishment, but she can't finish the blonde off. Hilary's able to desperately hang on to the bell. When it rings, she nearly goes down on the way back to the corner. It's Demi with the shutout, but, Lovato is still down 58-56.

ROUND SEVEN:

Duff still wobbly. Demi probably still a bit wobbly herself, but the brunette has the blonde on her heels and she aims to keep her there. She's stepping to, working body, backing up the older woman with hard shots to the head. Hilary giving ground, covering up, trying to simply ride out the storm. But. The wind, she is a blowin'. Lovato WINGING hard shot at her rival, looking for the one big punch that will end the thing, all the while punishing that sturdy body with hooks to the ribs and midsection. Duff shaken again and again, but managing to ship the shell and stay afloat. Until, she can't. It's a BOOMING left hook followed by a straight right and DOWN GOES DUFF! Hilary dropped to her back by a vicious combination. Demi to a neutral corner to watch and wait. Duff, eyes closed, head lolling back and forth. At six, she rolls to her belly, tries to push to all fours, but slumps back to the canvas. It's OVER! And your winner by KO7 is Demi Lovato!

AFTER:

Lovato not exactly looking like the winner of this fight. She's puffy, blood trickling from a small cut above the eye. But she manages a smile. "What a fight, huh! I knew she could still fight. She's going to beat a lot of girls. She just isn't going to beat ME."
