Hayley Williams vs Becky G
(The Dollhouse vs FCBA Independent)
(6-6, 6 KO vs 1-1, 1 KO)
Results: Lookout!; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Hayley Williams keeps blowing those hot & cold results but most pundits agree that in normal circumstances she'd be a lights out favorite to defeat the petite fellow singer Becky G. However we're talking different circumstances tonight as LCA's head trainer Eva Mendes enters the fray as "special advisor" in Becky's corner which fuels the speculation about the Latina's imminient future: "Look, I know Chloe Moretz gets all the attention but it's time for me to get serious. I was serious enough knocking the crap out of JoJo last month so it's time to take down a managed fighter like Hayley! I've been through these Dolls before but hell, I'm gonna get my revenge on Avril one day. Sky is the limit for me!"
Meanwhile Hayley doesn't exactly channel the heelish attitude that stablemate Avril Lavigne made famous over the past couple of years but she vows to rise above the .500 record that leaves her in no man's land when it comes to career ambitions: "She's new...but I've seen her in action and I'm taking her pretty seriously. I hear she's trying to impress the Lioness Club people, so I'm sure she's gonna put up a tough fight. I really need to win so I'm VERY ready for her! " Hayley cuts it short with a chuckle.
Hayley Williams wears a light blue sports bra, matching hotpants & gloves. Shoulder-lenght dyed blonde hair straight. Becky G wears a crimson bikini set with black trim & silver gloves. Long black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Becky's dynamic start is aimed to put immediate pressure on the fellow singer but Hayley lands her initial punch straight on target and tags the chin before plugging a follow up on the belly button which catches the brunette off guard wholesale. Becky squared up to force the phone booth stance but she gets pummelled in point-blank range instead as Hayley quickly gets down to business and punishes the Hispanic girl up the middle. Too much jabbing success for Becky to handle as she wobbles out of the striking zone but only for a moment as Hayley slams a left cross on the eye and keeps blowing past the leaky high guard to drop the brunette onto the ropes where she continues to enforce the head-hunting pressure. Ugh! Becky bellows out behind a high earmuff and that's all she wrote as Williams secures the whitewash!
Round 2:
Becky rallies around another head-hunting drill and picks the taller singer from the inside but she remains glued to the phone booth tactics which actually plays into the Dollhouse hands as well. Both women rattle each other around and neither of them wants to yield an inch before Becky clatters into the blonde's rack and plugs her on the solar plexus shortly afterwards. Ugh! Hayley wobbles to her heels and fails to connect with the back foot swing while Becky cranks it up and harpoons the exposed ribcage to drop the older singer onto the ropes where she keeps her pinned in trouble heading into the final minute. Hayley gets a little vocal as she tries to escape the phone booth trap but Becky screams out in delight when she carves some visible bruises around her opponent's waist and glues more leather on target before the ref has to pull her back at the bell.
Round 3:
Dollhouse coach Kristanna Loken demands more urgency from her fighter and Hayley hauls in the head-hunting drill to secure the early connection; Becky's aggressive approach backfires on the spot when she eats a vicious double series on the nose and it gets worse when Williams lands a brutal uppercut on the chin to send the Hispanic babe spinning back with a loud whimper. Ugh! Hayley leaps after her target and almost shoves Becky through the ropes outright but still plugs her in the gut working the left hand on speed dial as Becky tries not to go down alltogether but she gets pinned onto the turnbuckle regardless and just leaks more punches as Williams rallies to complete the shutout pounding into the brunette's midsection with authority for remainder of the round.
Round 4:
Hayley believes her rival felt that gut rally in the final minute of the previous round but Eva Mendes swings that carrot right in front of Becky's nose as they channel the Latin spirit to match the fake blonde stride for stride early in the fourth. Hayley can't make her mind up whether to go high or low and before she knows it, Becky nails her on the nose and steers additional leather on the chin to drop the older girl on the heels. Williams swings back but Becky ducks underneath the effort and camps into the exposed midsection instead as both women plug along in another phone booth dispute. Becky remains the more mobile of the two though and lures her foe into a bad stretch that makes Hayley lose her balance and gets picked off with a quick double on the chin. Becky slowly pounds the sluggish blonde onto the ropes where she settles down for the gut marker while Hayley bounces off the top of her forehead and fails to follow through with raw power in response.
Round 5:
Another back & forth exchange has Becky's head rocking frequently in the opening minute but Hayley just can't put her away; she barks in anger when Becky ducks underneath a flying hook and prefers to clean out the breadbasket instead which triggers a lenghty phone booth struggle where punches fly thick & fast until the brunette plugs one on the liver area to wobble the blonde to the side. Ugh! Hayley pushes off her heels but just can't get there in time and Becky blows a right hook on the chin before she adds another vicious uppercut on the chin... Williams is HURT!!! The rock singer stumbles to the side with a loud whimper but just can't find her way around another quick-fire series as Becky leaps ahead and tags her on the chin amid increasing crowd volume. Becky plants her front (left) leg and delivers the haymaker strike with Hayley still trying to keep her guard in tact... not gonna happen... the power punch smokes her on the mouth and sends CRASHING DOWN FLAT ON HER BACK!!! That's one for the highlight reel as Williams goes down like a sack of potatoes and drifts away into mumbling reality... even coach Loken can't change the ineviteable as the slowish count passes the blonde by without a proper response! KO5 Becky G!!!
AFTER: That's a huge win for the petite Latina who blows several kisses to the crowd before sharing the stage with Eva Mendes whom she credits with all the coaching help earlier this month: "I'm sooo thrilled to be here! That's me getting even with these Dolls! One-and-one! Silly little blonde bimbos can't stop me now! Gawd, I wish the next PPV was like tomorrow! (...) Nope, I don't need Ariana Grande on my resume to look awesome! I AM awesome already! (...) My next fight is still TBD but I'm gonna let everyone know what's up when I return from Europe! In case you've missed it, I'll be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards in Seville next weekend! That ought to make Hayley AND Ariana jealous!" (laughs).
Meanwhile this crushing loss leaves the Dollhouse searching for answers what is Hayley's ceiling going forward? Both she and Lauren Mayberry are simply not living up to the high standards and it's no wonder Kristanna Loken refuses to address the media without getting in touch with Carmen Electra first.
