BEFORE:
Lauren Mayberry entering the press hall with a modest smile on her face, looking not too upset after her latest fight in September didn’t go so well for her.

"You know, despite that whole Isabela Moner fiasco,” Mayberry begins with a nervous chuckle. “I'm excited about bouncing back and starting a new streak tonight. I'm sure Roxanne has other plans after having won both her fights this year, but I'm still confident I can take her down, or else I wouldn’t be here. I've been more active than her in the ring, so hopefully that should count for something, right?” Lauren finishing off with a wink towards the audience before turning towards Roxannee. “Let's go do this Roxy!”

Roxanne Pallett with a half-smile from her end of the table, a sly look of contempt and condescension directed towards Mayberry that tells us all we need to know about what she’s feeling before she even opens her mouth. “Lauren’s such a cutie-pie when she opens her mouth, isn’t she? I bet her mommy’s here somewhere in the audience, just waiting to wrap her up with hugs and kisses once I’m through with her tonight. Lauren, dear, you can save us all the trouble and just go home, you know? Get tucked into bed with a kiss on your forehead. I swear, no one’s gonna judge you, dearie. But if you get in the ring with me later tonight, I’m gonna f*ck you up bad, hon. You’ll barely be recognizable. Are you SURE you want to take that chance?”

Those strong words have gotten Lauren a little intimidated by the looks of it as both women face down at the center podium, with Mayberry looking like she doesn’t want to come anywhere near Pallett. Roxanne on the other hand has a big, cocky smile on her face, holding her fists up and daring Mayberry to make a first move.

Girls make their entrances into the arena hours later in a blaze of flashing neon lights and smoke effects, with Lauren first emerging from behind the curtains dressed in her champagne-coloured sports bra and black tights, hair in a high ponytail and some golden glitter sparkling on her face as she flashes a wider smile for the cheering fans.

Roxanne next down the ramp, looking sexy and in great shape for her age in a black bikini and white classic gloves. She’s bundled her hair up tight in a ponytail as she continues to send insults at Mayberry from across the ring.

Lauren just fixing her with a steady stare right back, and at the referee’s instruction, both ladies actually agree to touch gloves and then head back to their respective corners for the flag off. HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
After that unfortunately loss to Isabel Moner, Lauren’s back to playing it safe rather than sorry, keeps her distance whilst keeping herself moving fast. Roxanne known for her powerful attacks, especially at close quarters, but surprisingly doesn’t try and rush Mayberry immediately at the bell. Instead, both girls trade jabs towards the head from afar, with Lauren however more spooked and jittery as she evades more than enough out of the way at the smallest twitch forward by Roxanne. Roxanne’s grin growing larger and larger as a result, her previous words at the press conference confirmed as she lands a few jabs on Lauren’s guard before the Doll opts to LEAP out of the way and back to safety, just like how she predicted she would turn tail and run back home. Last minute of this cat and mouse game, and Mayberry actually lets the insults go to her head, stays in one spot and tries to bang back with jabs of her own. But cue Roxanne, who sees an opportunity to strike hard, BANGS a hook to the side of Lauren’s head, sending the poor Scottish girl reeling to the side in order to regain her composure until the time runs out.

ROUND 2:
Roxanne with even more confidence now that she has the power to put this tiny terror away with ease, comes charging out of corner with much more speed and aggression. Mayberry however having done her homework, predicted this from Pallett, simply picks up the pace as well and scrams, all the while shooting jabs towards Roxanne’s incoming head even as she barrels inwards. Pallett in for a rude awakening as her face gets pestered and plastered with leather jabs, then at her aging body, as Lauren sidesteps and buries a stiff left-right combo into her sides, making the crowd love this pick up in the action. Roxanne however knows that all she needs to do is get one-punch lucky, grazes Lauren on the chin towards the third minute with a wide swing, sending Lauren flailing back in shock. Lauren manages to block any subsequent attack towards her head, with Roxanne really going apeshit each time she scores the barest of golds. Still, it leaves Mayberry grunting loudly as her body takes a licking, errant lefts and rights landing on all sides. Round ends however with a not-as-big margin for Pallett, Lauren instead showing everyone she can stand up to this bully.

ROUND 3:
Mayberry to the rescue! She practically runs circles around Roxanne during this round, with the Kear’s Kat member looking winded and out of gas already in the third round, after all that chasing. Roxanne forced back on the defensive as Lauren blurs into her left and right, planting fists into every crevice she can spy. Roxanne taking another hard right hand straight to the chin in the second minute, sending the poor Brit gasping and retreating backwards. Lauren turning on the pressure slowly, one degree at a time, lets Roxanne get away from her, but not TOO far away. Pallett still in trouble, taking some big swipes back towards Lauren’s advance, but those hooks do little to dissuade the Doll from peeling off the attack. Lauren ends the round wide by shocking the aging matriarch with another one-two stiff combination to the sternum, making Pallett grunt in pain and hang onto the top rope for support. Mayberry almost manages to score an early upset knockdown, if it wasn’t for the ringing bell and referee, who comes in between them at the last minute. Great round for Lauren though as she takes the first big round of the evening.

ROUND 4:
Roxanne no longer smiling as she comes out of the corner swinging for the wind, intending to shock and awe this young upstart girl and send her back home thoroughly spanked and crying. But Mayberry just too agile for the older woman, with Pallett taking some big leaps forward and even bigger swings at Mayberry’s head, but Mayberry easily swerving her own head out of the way, her short and agile legs doing the best work to avoid any danger. Instead, the Doll fires back with counter-punches with relative ease, again busting Roxanne in the belly with a swerve and a return hook, then another weave to the side and snap uppercut sent into the chin! Roxanne getting peppered by these short but effective punches, can’t do much else but get herself pushed back, her own attacks not finding any purchase. Pretty soon, Mayberry’s picking up the pace, jab-jab-jab snapping the head back painfully, rocking Pallett into the ropes, where the British girl tries to cover up to desperately survive another round. Lauren has other ideas though, quickly lands a one-two combination to the body, bowling her over with a grunt, before Roxanne gets ROCKED when a hook lands hard on the cheek… and DOWN GOES PALLETT, swivelled clear about on her feet as she crashes onto her side! KNOCKDOWN for the Mayberry as she immediately leaps up into the air, ecstatic at this early victory! Roxanne left stuttering on all fours as she tries to sit back up, but her head too groggy, barely makes it back up to her knees before she hears the dreaded 10-count from the referee pass her on by! It’s all over!!

Official Decision: Lauren Mayberry defeats Roxanne Pallett via KO4!

AFTER:
Big smile on Lauren Mayberry’s face as the realisation of her redemptive win washes over her. The Doll immediately raises both hands in victory, giggling as she high-fives her team. Her confidence finally restored, Lauren can work on climbing back up the divisional rankings and start working towards another win streak again.

Roxanne on the other hand falling back to the ground, one hand still clutching onto the bottom rope as she lies on her side, beaten and bagged, like a dead woman at the end of her line. Bad news for Pallett tonight, especially after all that smack talk earlier, now finding herself unable to even sit back up, has to rely on the medics for support.

Lauren not too interested in her fallen opponent, exits the ring amidst loud cheers, a big grin still wide on her face as she speaks to reporters on her way backstage. “Roxanne’s not as scary as she’d have you think. I was never scared of her despite what some thought. I just didn’t appreciate her attitude. Hopefully I was able to adjust it a little bit…and if she wants another shot at me she knows where to find me!” Feisty words from the Scot as Lauren ends with a flex of her very modest bicep to the camera, giggling as she waves to the fans one last time before disappearing backstage behind those big curtains.
