Milana Vayntrub vs. Alicia Vikander

BEFORE:

Vayntrub has had the normal newbie struggles in her career, but has shown plenty of want-to and some nice tools. Vikander, meanwhile, has proven she can beat lower and mid-level fighters, but has struggled against the top girls. Fortunately, in Alicia's mind, anyway, Milana doesn't qualify as one of those "top" girls. "She's not in my league," says the Swede with a shake of the head. "She's nothing special at all. I'll take her out when I'm ready."

"So, she thinks she can beat me at her leisure," says Milana, eyes smoldering. "Well. She's in for a surprise!"

ROUND ONE:

Recon early. Vikander's shown plenty of ability at range. She has length and she knows how to use it. She also has power. Add that to the length, and the Swede can be a problem for just about anyone below 120. Milana, however, has clearly been scouting. She knows what Alicia wants, and isn't going to give it to her. Instead, she's working forward in a high guard, angling past the gloves, then getting in to work body. Alicia not liking that, trying to get some distance via the feet, and, at times, she's able to make that happen. At range, Vikander's in control, dropping jabs and right hands. But, once Vayntrub is past the defenses, she makes things VERY uncomfortable for the Swede, working her body inside, going upstairs, piling up points and offsetting Vikander's work at range. More than offsetting. Because, when the bell rings, Vayntrub has the points, albeit narrowly, and the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Vikander makes some adjustments. She's giving a little ground along with the lateral movement. Result? More time to get her long jab on target and keep her rival at bay. And, that time is exactly what the Swede needs. She's using the jab to stop Vayntrub out in no man's land, on the end of Vikander's own punches. And Alicia makes sure she fires off those follow up rights, all the better to punish the shorter woman and pile up both points and hurt. Milana game, trying to get forward, managing to do it here and there. But, mostly, she's held at bay and punished by Alicia, who's getting into quite the rhythm by the late stages of the round, actually backing up the older woman with hard shot until the bell, mercifully, rings. When it does, it's Vikander's round wide and we're even at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Alicia right back to work early, but, not for long. Vayntrub's getting the timing down, slipping past the jab, slipping inside, working that body and then BOOM! Short right hook and ALICIA IS HURT! Vinkander stumbling backward and Milana ROCKS HER AGAIN WITH A RIGHT UPPIE! What holds Vikander up is anyone's guess, but, somehow, she stays on her feet, and right in front of a fiery-eyed Milana. Vayntrub lets the hands go, punishing her rival for those pre-fight remarks, backing her into the ropes and working her over to both head and body. Referee watching closely as Vayntrub piles up the punishment. He's on a hair trigger, but the Swede manages to keep him at bay, doing just enough offensively and managing to hang on until the bell. Vayntrub, wide. And up 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Milana forward, sitting down on her punches. She's not trying to clean up or consolidate. She's trying to FINISH and right now. Vikander giving ground, keeping the guard high, playing this thing for time, time the shorter woman isn't willing to give her. Instead, Vayntrub pressures, pressures, pressures, and GETS ROCKED! Right-hand counter from the Swede and Milana is HURT! Vayntrub wobbles and covers up immediately as Vikander switches over to the offensive raining bombs down on the wobbly Uzbek beauty. And, it's all too much. DOWN GOES VAYNTRUB! It's not one punch, but the accumulation of punishment that sends Milana to her hands and knees. Vikander striding to a neutral corner to watch the count. Vayntrub, head down, not looking up as the referee counts down at her. Finally, she tries to rise but COLLAPSES TO HER RIGHT SIDE and it's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is Alicia Vikander!

AFTER:

Alicia dismissive of her rival. "As I said," says the smiling Swede. "She is not in MY class. I kept her around for a few rounds so that I could get some work in and put on a show for my fans. And, when I'd had enough, I simply finished her."
