Camila Mendes versus Elizabeth Henstridge

Before: Hale’s busy schedule giving Henstridge a chance to scoot into the title picture early, as Maisie Williams’ spectacular summer lets Girls Friday challenge O&E’s claims to have the “Best 1-2 punch at flyweight!”

Camila in a black high-waisted bikini, hair loose but slicked back. Elizabeth in grey sports bra and shorts, hair in a battle-pony, black gloves all around

R1: Elizabeth being tall, working behind the jab, pivoting-left around it, twitchy shoulder-feints, followed by sudden straight lefts or lead rights off the front (left) foot. Henstridge leaning forward, punching off the front leg, creating distance by shifting weight to back (right) leg while rocking back on left heel. Mendes scowling - trying to penetrate and flash quick hands inside: Elizabeth denying. Hendstrdige happy to reject Mendes, occasionally disciplining her via sharp right hands to forehead or jolting left uppercuts off front foot. Camila taking a good shot, but rarely able to touch Elizabeth with anything like authority.

R2: Lovely action between two beautiful, well-schooled vixens, First two minutes hotly contested—with Camila paying the price to get inside, then outfighting Elizabeth when girls get shoulder to shoulder. Camila’s bread and butter definitely the left hand—very short n’ sneaky with it as she shrugs or twitches off the hooks in tight, or features that tasty jab off the hip. Final minute, Henstridge no loner able to disengage: she’s flat footed; left across her tummy, right up at her cheek, just rolling and parrying shots as Mendes works her over. Good minute for Camila, she’s mauling Elizabeth with brisk lefts and rights chopped in short to head and shoulders; chipping the jab; turning and backing her up.

R3: Elizabeth puts on a clinic in the ol' sweet science, applying polish to a frustrated Camila. Henstridge jabbing head and body; stepping brisk; taking smart walk-arounds, then pouncing back in as Camila's regrouping. Right hand leads spice up Camila's face, catching her before she's organized: shoe-shining combos buff up tummy and jugs. Henstridge feinting, using the ring, nibbling and vexing, Mendes a full step behind the beat.

R4: Camila jabs Elizabeth's tummy, hops in with the short, palm-down hook, clipping chin. Henstridge pushed back on her heels - legs spasm in delayed effect: she stumbles away suddenly stricken, eyes blinking out how-could-you. Mendes hopping after, jabbing Elizabeth's breasts and tummy, then hopping-in close to get more hooks. Henstridge spooked into headlong retreat: she's suddenly very concerned about Camila's frisky pop. Mendes all smiles - she's a confident little bully walking Henstridge down, trying to trap her at ropes and engage with brisk flurries. Elizabeth doing a good job tying up, or spinning away from these exchanges - still looking a little wobbly-butt at bell.

R5: Elizabeth tries her luck as Camila makes her rush, leaning in robust right hands, coming back hooks. Mendes snarling, answering back in kind: both girls gambling crazy, punching as hard as they can as crowd goes wild. Henstridge beaten again and again to punches: Camila's right and left bouncing off skull and jaw, buckling those knees. Punched wobbly-butt, Elizabeth tries to withdraw, Mendes dips low, then straightens up into a short hook as she hops in close, landing bingo on the chin. HENSTRIDGE DOWN! Elizabeth blown to her back, head bouncing off canvas as she crashes down hard. IT'S OVER! Henstridge mumbling in pain, head lolling side to side, right knee rising, then falling as that leg flexes, then straightens out. KO5, Camila Mendes.

After: Is this the first flyweight clash of many for these two stables? Foxfire, Lioness even once-mighty HISC itself seem to be pulling back from this division, their veterans not being replaced as they age out. Are Williams, Holt, Henstridge and Mendes destined to duke it out for flyweight supremacy? And if so, what are they waiting for?
