Before:

Tonight’s card features an elite lightweight matchup between Emily DiDonato of Fates and Katy Perry from Front Street Boxing for the first time these two girls meet in the ring.

“Well, when we saw that Fates wanted to have Emily and I meet in the ring, we changed around my schedule at the Asylum without skipping a beat,” Perry tells the press. “When you get a challenge like that, you take it, and we are looking forward to fighting Emily tonight.”

DiDonato blushes, surprised by the praise, having become accustomed to the vicious criticisms of fighting other models, “Katy’s always been someone we’ve had a lot of respect for at Fates, and she’s been nothing short of stellar in her time in the FCBA.”

The two girls smile and pose together for the cameras before heading their separate ways. But both women are competitors, and it’ll be a fiercely contested fight no matter what.

Emily DiDonato is the first girl to make her way to the ring, accompanied by her stablemate Hannah Davis and coach Ana Beatriz Barros. The brunette model steps into the ring and takes off her robe to reveal a black bikini that go with her black gloves with white trim. The model has her hair up in a bun for the match, and DiDonato calmly paces the ring as Katy Perry quickly enters the arena to the thunderous applause of the crowd. Perry has donned a blue sports bra with black trunks and black gloves, her hair in a ponytail for the fight. The referee addresses the two girls who touch gloves, and then the bell rings. Off we go for ten rounds of elite lightweight action!

Round 1:

The fight starts with both girls cautiously getting out of their corners and circling to their right, both knowing that their opponent could shift the fight with a single blow. DiDonato works her jab early, taking advantage of her extra height and reach and working Perry backwards as she hammers away on her opponent. Katy weathers Emily’s onslaught despite taking a pair of jabs to the nose, and when the opportunity presents itself after a less-than-perfect left jab from the model, Perry closes distance and finds DiDo’s liver with a right and a left that force the model backwards. Emily cautiously starts circling Katy again and the singer follows suit, with Emily probing her defenses with her jabs again. Perry again looking for the counter and she steps up as DiDonato feints left only to crash a right into Perry’s jaw, staggering the singer and the brunette model pounces, working in a couple of body shots before Katy wraps Emily up. The bell rings as the ref gets Perry to release the clinch, and sends the girls back to their corners. The opening frame goes to Emily DiDonato, wide.

Round 2:

DiDonato a bit more aggressive in her start to the second round and she firmly control the opening minute, working over Perry with rights and lefts from range. Katy again withstands the onslaught fairly well, and this time steps up as she counter’s a right from Emily, smashing her glove into the model’s lips, reminding the model why she’s on the verge of getting her fiftieth win. The Goshen Goddess drops back and the Santa Barbara Slugger pursues her, landing two big rib shots into Emily’s left flank, working the brunette backwards. Perry doesn’t stay too close to DiDo though, and quickly drops back as Emily lashes out with a left that the singer narrowly dodges. The two girls start circling, but unlike the first, this time Katy is proactive, forcing Emily to respond as Perry just keeps on working DiDonato’s body, working in to close range to jam up the bigger girl, but the brunette model closes out the round with a trio of blows to Katy’s body as the round ends. Perry still wins the round on points, close.

Round 3:

The two girls seem to have found their respective rhythms, with DiDonato playing from range while Perry goes for the quick counters, Emily trying to land blows to the head while Katy goes for Emily’s body. The singer takes a big right from the model, but stays up and digs a big right into the model’s liver, drawing a wince out of the model before Katy slips in a cheeky right that again smacks Emily in her chops, knocking the brunette backwards. Emily retreating as Katy steps up and looks to go back to pounding Emily’s body, but the Sports Illustrated girl keeps the singer at bay with her reach, skipping a right off of Perry’s cheek before digging a left into her body. Katy and Emily briefly tussle in close proximity as they end up clinching, forcing the ref to break them apart. The two girls circle each other as the seconds dwindle in the round, with neither able to get much going before the bell. It’s another close round, but this time it goes to Emily.

Round 4:

The fourth round continues with the rather predictable pattern of the prior rounds, with Emily fighting from range while Katy keeps looking for opportunities to work in close. DiDo again works her jab early, but Perry is no spring chicken – the singer knows what’s coming, blocks the blow, and then counters with a one-two shot to Emily’s head and chest. Katy drops back, but she’s not fast enough and Emily smacks the singer with a straight that snaps the singer’s head backwards. Perry drops back and DiDonato follows her, alternating targets as she batters the singer’s guard and body and the model just brute forces the singer back into the ropes where Emily just unloads on Katy. DiDonato digging vicious rights and lefts into Perry’s body as the singer seemingly can only clinch and hold on to stop the siege and get a break, which she does. After the break, DiDonato once again goes right after Perry, but the older girl ducks the jab and then drives a right into the brunette’s ribs, putting a scowl on the model’s face as the round ends. DiDonato still takes the round, wide, and the model’s so far coming out ahead in this battle of the elite lightweights.

Round 5:

Between the fourth and fifth, Perry gets a talking to from the Front Street trainers, and the message is quite clear – clean it up or lose. Meanwhile, DiDonato’s conversation with Ana Beatriz Barros is also quite simple, but of the opposite gist – just keep it up. Katy for once becomes the aggressor right out of the gate, catching Emily by surprise with a right feint before whipping a left cross into the brunette. DiDonato recovers quickly and responds with a jab to the chin after dodging Perry’s follow-up punch, halting the singer’s momentum. Emily fakes a right at Perry’s head only to go for her body, moving the singer backwards. DiDo working from close range now, her gloves thudding off of Perry’s body with a steady thud thud thud. Perry shoots out a right to DiDonato’s head, and while the blow misses, it buys the singer space. Emily backs off and launches a big right hook but Katy merely bobs her head out of the way and crashes a right haymaker into Emily’s chin and the brunette’s staggered! Emily’s wobbly and Katy pounces, digging in two rights to the model’s midriff before hammering two straights through her guard, splitting her gloves and sending her down to the canvas! The Santa Barbara Slugger’s living up to her name as she leaves the Goshen Goddess in dire straits, shaking her head as the referee counts in front of her. Emily makes it back to her feet at eight, but she takes until the silent nine to be steady, and the referee has to check in on her. DiDonato claims she’s good to keep on going, and the ref backs off, not wanting to prematurely end the fight between the two lightweights. Perry goes right back after DiDonato, landing body shot after body shot as Emily covers up with a reasonably sturdy guard to the bell.

Whatever Perry heard in the corner worked, as she comes back from behind to win the round on points, wide, and seemingly putting DiDonato in a precarious spot. Emily, meanwhile, needs to regroup.

Round 6:

It’s a tale of two girls in two very different positions as the fight enters its back stretch – Katy Perry charging out of her corner while Emily DiDonato just wants to stay well away from the singer, and isn’t super steady on her feet. Katy notices the brunette’s vulnerable position and instantly starts socking Emily all over, pumping leather into her gloves, ribs, and chest with a flurry of punches that just pummel Emily, the brunette model letting out a groan as Katy works her backwards. Perry works DiDonato around the ring – while the brunette model may be taller, that last knockdown took something out of her and she just isn’t covering the ground despite her longer legs – the singer just absolutely unloading on Emily. Perry slams a right through DiDonato’s guard and to her chin, nearly dropping DiDo again! Emily stumbles backwards and she fires out a desperation right that Katy seemingly can take her time dodging before she buries a right into Emily’s solar plexus, doubling her up before she swings the model back up with a left uppercut and then follows with a right uppercut that gets all of Emily’s chin! DiDonato’s stems give out from under her and she crashes down to the canvas and the ref barely even has to look at her before he calls it off! Your winner by a vicious KO6 that had the Goshen Goddess out before she hit the ground, the Santa Barbara Slugger, Katy Perry!

After:

Katy Perry raises her arms in triumph as medics flood the ring to tend to Emily DiDonato. Perry smiles and waves to the crowd before going over to talk to the medics, who are quick to let the singer know it may be a while before Emily’s more conscious. Perry nods and silently waits in her corner until DiDonato’s sitting upright, albeit with a blank look in her eyes. Perry goes over and gives DiDonato a brief hug before leaving the ring and her vanquished opponent, showing that she is still an elite fighter.

“Obviously, I’m excited by the win,” Perry tells the press, “Fates has had a dynamic duo at lightweight between Emily and Taylor, and it feels really good to get in a big win against Emily. Now I know that there’s been some discussion about girls at Front Street trying to get into the title picture. I think I just proved to everyone that I still have another run in me, but we’ll see what transpires.”

With that, Perry leaves the press to ponder whether or not the Santa Barbara Slugger can have another run at the title belt, and then turn their attention to Emily.

DiDonato makes her way to the press afterwards with the help of Barros, the brunette model’s eyes red and tears still on her cheeks.

“Obviously, any loss hurts, and this is my first time losing back-to-backs since 2017 when I was a free agent.” Emily sputters, wiping fresh tears from her eyes. “Katy fought really well, really well. All the Front Street girls do.” Emily pauses and sniffles as she wipes her eyes again. “On to the next one, I guess.”

The press starts shouting out questions, ranging from asking if she has any issues with Swift at Fates to if she was just a one-year wonder to whether or not she would fight Kate Upton again. Emily just merely walks away, leaving the press and the FCBA to ponder what’s next for the Goshen Goddess after a suffering back to back losses for the first time in her 30 fights under Fates management.
