Before: Carrere trying to soothe her battered ego, takes “Roswell’s” big-bodied Heigl as a tune-up before potentially running at the winner of Theron/Nolin. Despite threats of litigation to prevent Nolin from defending the title against anyone but Carrere--camp insiders report Tia’s confidence badly shaken in her one round debacle against Nolin. Heigl a promising newcomer looks to maybe catch Carrere on downswing in what could be an intriguing match up. Heigl in white sports bra, light blue adidas terrycloth trunks, Tia in black sports bra, red adidas trunks.

During R1: Bodies are spanked as the girls stand mid ring and trade lusty right hands to the belly and ribs--each taking their turn in laying on, it’s brutal trench warfare and Carrere finally emerges the stronger as Heigl stops punching to cover up with a groan. Tia bodying up, walks Heigl back and rips to the girl’s sides with beefy punches, buckling the blonde’s knock-knees at the bell. Sustained power punching to the body shows Tia hasn’t lost a step as she walks back to her corner all business.

R2: Heigl standing in--each girl fighting big, not punching in combination, but HEAVING well leveraged right hands to the belly and rib cage. Again, Carrere simply bludgeons her girl into submission, taking over as Katherine wilts and the final minute sees Tia work Heigl over on the ropes with booming lefts and rights in behind the elbows. Katherine looking panicky, on the verge of tears en route to her corner as she is getting her tail kicked through 2.

R3: Heigl fighting desperately, while Carrere takes a breather and Katherine takes over while Tia draws her elbows in, hiding behind a tight right guard. Carrere blocking, but not moving her head and Heigl warms to the task--pounding away on Tia’s arms, booming right hands to the trunk line and bodying Tia back in between salvoes. Carrere sitting on the ropes in the final minute as Heigl bashes away and a sustained barrage to the waist has Carrere lock-legged, bell sounds and Tia looks woozy, Heigl rejuvenated by the shutout beating.

R4: Tia back to her old tricks, laying in with Katherine answering the blonde’s every punch with crushing right hands to the belly, and by the final minute Carrere has Heigl turning away in agony. Katherine floundering, melts to the ropes and cringes as Tia stomps in--Carrere working with heerr shoulders rolling inside, then shoving her girl back by the chest to get at that belly. Heigl swooning, wobbly butt at the bell as carrere pours it on without mercy.

R5: More good work from Tia as she goes cheek to cheek with the youngster, trades with Katherine until the blonde can’t take it, then works to batter her foe as Heigl covers up. Tia reaching around her girl with the left, pulling Katherine onto punishing right uppercuts to the stomach, constantly keeping her weight on the blonde and punching with maximum leverage. Heigl taking a good shot--but her tummy is getting hammered for her passivity.

R6 Action continues as neither girl a big mover if she can help it--they go cheek to cheek and start slugging, stepping into left hooks, curling right hands downstairs, occasionally clubbing at the jaw if it’s there. After 2 minutes of brutal give and take an innocent Heigl uppercut scrapes Tia’s face and Carrere stops punching, leaning on her foe behind her guard. Kathy realizes that Tia is hurt, and lays on, clubbing her left to the body, then doubling it to the ear as Carrere begins to stumble back. A huge right between the gloves busts Tia up and sends her sprawling to the ropes and Carrere is glassy-eyed! Heigl pounding away, using a right round punch to the ribs coming back with hamfisted left hook on the chin and TIA GOES OUT! Carrere’s head spins and she pitches forward--Heigl stepping out of the way to let the brunette fall onto her face. KO6 Kathy Heigl!

After: Tia looking like damaged goods--pounding her way to a clear decision when the wheels fall off. it’s a disastrous upset for Carrere, while a career break fro Heigl who had been made a sizeable underdog going in. Heigl signs a lucrative 5 fight deal with Maxim magazine who hail her as “The Future of Women’s Celebrity Boxing” on the strength of this performance.
