BEFORE: This fight was supposed to happen last month already but Romee Strijd accepted Ireland Baldwin's challenge instead which resulted in a nasty upset defeat for the Dutch stunner. To add insult to the Lioness injury the omni-present Tess Valmore dismissed this match-up as "blatant challenge for an easy win". Ouch! Martha Hunt might be 0-for-1 in FCBA competition but there's no shame in losing to former Welterweight of the Year Karlie Kloss on your debut, right?
Martha actually finds herself in a no-lose situation on her FCBA comeback as all the pressure to perform lies with her Dutch opponent: "Even the media dislike this chick so I have nothing to worry about! Don't call me a jobber, Tractorpull is taking shots at Romee and I LIKE it! She's gonna feel my power alright, if Ireland Baldwin could turn her lights out so can I." (giggles).
Strictly business approach from the Victoria's Secret Angel. A loss here and those back-to-back KO1 wins over Hogan & Kurylenko would mean absolutely nothing anymore. Romee knows she's up against it and refuses to touch gloves with the fellow blonde during the introductions.
Romee Strijd wears an orange bikini set with blue trim & blue gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a curled ponytail. Martha Hunt wears a black bikini set with white trim and white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.
Round 1:
Romee seeks another first round knockout! It's as simple as that; she literally sprints across the ring to connect with Martha's head but the red mist rush affects her precision too much and she skims off the top of the fellow blonde's shoulder too often which allows the American to land meaningful response. Martha also accepts the uptempo swing style and both models trade one-punch KO power which fits very well with the audience! Neither of them can land that big punch though and the action calms down during the second minute despite plenty of effort but once Martha decides to go for the ugly shots to the body she finds more success than before. She doesn't hit Strijd below the waist outright but disrupts the Dutch girl enough to throw her off sync right before a clubbing hook on the jaw actually wobbles her back. Martha jumps into a speedy pursuit but lacks precision again which allows Romee to shut down the late flurry with room to spare.
Round 2:
Another close range slugfest opens the second and maybe Martha tries out for that highlight reel finish after being dismissed by Tractorpull the other day? She anticipates smacking Romee's head off but just can't follow through with enough power and has the Dutchwoman stacking up more punches into her face down the stretch. It's a nasty grind in the center of the ring before one girl begins to moan in pain once the other clubs her too often and Martha's the one feeling the heat when Romee connects with a couple of uppercuts on the jaw. The American tries to hang on but drops to her heels and gets pounded back to the ropes when her opponent goes to the body to explore some of the obvious flaws in Hunt's defense. Martha allows too much ribcage abuse there and has to clinch the fellow blonde in order to stop her progress.
Round 3:
Martha tags Romee's temples with the initial hooking burst and almost expects the Dutchwoman to feel the heat upon impact but the Lioness blonde shakes it off and responds with immediate pressure that catches Hunt looking for reaction... Martha's head snaps back and before she can do something about it, Strijd NAILS her with a brutal hook on the eye that tears some flesh in the process... Hunt bends forward with a whimper and doesn't gather her thoughts quick enough to raise her mitts while Romee turns it from the hip and SMOKES her with a left hook on the jaw... GOODBYE SUNSHINE!!! Martha flies back onto the ropes with eyes closed and bangs her head against the boards once she yields the upright!!! Ugh! And that was a hard hit down there which renders the proud American woozy while the merciless count passes her by. You don't recover from these kind of shots at this weight! KO3 Romee Strijd!!!
AFTER: "I'm baaack!!! Naysayers can frickin' eat it!!!", Romee gloats over the fallen opponent and quickly begins the victory lap while the medics attend to the poor Martha. The fans in the arena were treated with a proper welter knockout but some of the pundits wish this blonde battle had lasted a little longer... Romee can deliver the one-punch destruction at any time but that's almost common knowledge if you pay enough attention to her tape... can she survive a proper drag 'em knuckleball grindfest though? Life is good when you're a 23 year old power-hitter with Victoria's Secret/Lioness Club backing and maybe that's all Romee needs at this stage of her career?
