Before: interesting collision--Newton the reedy boxer, Eggert the curvy slugger--plenty fo scouts on hand to check Thandie’s form as the featured fighter between the two. Tan crop top, scoop front, clingy sleeves to the elbow, tan bottoms for Thandie-Nicole in black one piece tank suit, deep v neck, very high cut on the thigh,

During R1: Thandie darting her  left in and out against Nicky’s face--Eggert walking through the jabs, squaring up for some workmanlike body blows. Eggert able to fight off the taller girl’s hest, smack he waistline, bully Thandie to the ropes with her shoulders--solid round for the blonde.

R2: Emboldened Nicole walks Thandie and goes right at the nubile (Malaysian’s?) waist, looking to chop he brunette in half. Bruising hacks to the midriff have Thandie hurting--she’s backpedaling, palming Nicole back and seems weak-kneed from the blonde’s pressure. Down the stretch, Newton feathering jabs in retreat carefully and deliberately places her thumb in Nicole’s right eye socket, stopping Eggert in her tracks with a yowl. Cascading boos--ref getting ready to read Thandie the riot act, but she bats those eyes, pouts, and he buckles! Ref lets it continue--Newton finishes up strong with slapping wide lefts and rights as Eggert covers up ropeside.

R3: Shutout Thandie Newton, and controversy. Newton’s left hand very educated--she punches Nicole repeatedly on the end of the nose, cuffs her ear, brushes an uppercut across her face, everything  from the left side as she pivots around her punching. Eggert coming forward, able to take Newton’s punches, but once again that vicious thumb has the blonde stumbling in pain--Ref cautioning Thandie but letting action continue without any respite for Eggert. Final minute--Thandie licking her jab against Nicole’s forehead, then steps in with a fencer’s right hand--left flung out to the side as she commits and stabs the cross into Eggert’s throat! Pinpoint foul has Nicky gagging at the bell--ref once again hints that this conduct might be inappropriate, but nothing more. Newton strutting back to her corner as a weepy Nicole Eggert gets desperation attention.

R4,5: Punishing rounds of payback as an enraged Nicole Eggert goes to work. Newton a nice mover, has that quick, deft jab--but she’s just not strong enough to keep Eggert off. Nicole slugging her way in, and working furiously to the tony midriff, banging away at the ribs and supple waist with both dukes--often pinning Thandie to the ropes. Newton soaking up a terrific pounding and she looks hurt--Eggert not known for her heavy hands is punishing the brunette these rounds.

R6: More outraged boos as Newton’s artful left hand goes to work on Eggert’s eyes. Precision jabs pepper the blonde as Newton works to her left, then the thumb gouges home--Nicole turning her back to stagger away, expecting referee intervention, but Thandie gets a pass. Newton doubling and tripling up on slapping left hands to the ear, then shortening up to clip the elbow across Nicole’s brow. Cuts open up at the bell as Newton’s hard strike takes effect--Eggert’s wailing at the besotted ref to enforce the rules--has the opposite effect as blonde draws a warning for unsportsmanlike language.

R7: Thandie slowly exerting control, punishing Nicole’s pretty face into a swollen putty with those constant, accurate left jabs, Right hands are few and far between, but always dead ion, straight to either eye or the battered mouth.

R8: Big bad shutout for Nicole Eggert who storms across the ring to dish out a little working woman’s justice this round. Newton windblown, cant get off the ropes, covers up and twists her body to take vicious strokes against her obliques as Nicky hammers away. Bell to bell shove and slug from Eggert, getting her shoulder and forearm into Thandie to drape the willowy brunette back, going to midsection with two-fisted thunder. Ref warning Eggert for low blows, draws more boos from the crowd who are solidly behind Nicole at this point.

R9: OH THAT THUMB! First “punch” of the round, so intentional, so flagrant--Thandie just bringing the left up off her hip and poking ti straight in--Eggert bellowing in rage, covers up and takes a vicious right elbow smash to the lips in between her mitts and EGGERT IS HURT! Nicole swooning at the ropes, busted up, gloves at her temples as Newton squares away and launches a slapping, slinging barrage and THE REF STOPS THE FIGHT! Thandie all smiles, turning away to strut as Nicole is absolutely livid--pleading and screaming at the ref as he gives her this caring look. Styrofoam cups launch into the ring as the boos pour down--TKO9 Thandie Newton.

After: Unbelievable. Eggert’s team accusing the beleaguered ref of obvious boas, crowd in an uproar. Thandie preening and thinking Nicky for the rounds like she’s just dusted a sparring partner--fight even going into the 9th until the disputed stoppage. Newton obviously a talented boxer, but she’s fragile, chinny--could probably generate a little more power if she set down on her punches, but evidently deciding there’s a safer route. Even the fouls were delivered with calligraphic elegance, carving Eggert up with misplaced skill as Newton escapes with the W.
