UNIFIED MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE

Before: Farrell enters a huge underdog, but Team Terry oozes quiet confidence. “Peta is very good,” admits Terry in pre-fight, “but she’s human, we’ve taken apart her game head to toe on tape and I’ve got a plan to deal with her. If I execute, I know I can beat Peta Wilson.” Farrell the only one apparently--Wilson polite, but dismissive in response--really only a question of when she’ll win, and how bad it’ll get for Terry. Farrell in royal blue two piece aerobics togs, high neck, Peta in black two piece Nike aerobics togs.

R1,2: Mirror image rounds--Peta getting the early jump, drawing squeals and shouts from the crowd as she jumps into flashy power punches  in the first minute, but Terry staying composed, rolling with the blows, laying down her jab and taking over the majority of the round. Nothing fancy from terry--a hard, insistent left jab, a little shuffle to her left, high guard as she backs away from any danger, then back on top with the rangefinder. Peta cooperating too much, standing in front of Farrell and letting her touch with the left.

R3: Shutout Peta Wilson. Peta keeps up that first minute tempo all round long and simply overwhelms Terry with speed and athleticism. Farrell punished along the ropes, protects her head, takes a withering beating to her ribs and hips as Wilson chops away with both hands.

R4: Shutout Terry, Farrell SO calm--painting Peta with the jab, doubling and tripling up on left hands, timing the shots exquisitely to leave Wilson staring out over her gloves. Wilson unhurt, walking forward, but she’s getting pre-empted, having some difficulty with Farrell’s reach and distance judgment.

R5: Farrell’s done the hard work--controlling Peta, steering her, containing her--now the brunette mixes in right hands. Big, cracking rights off the jab, connecting flush, knocking back a shocked champions head and leaving Wilson surprisingly broken down--and it goes on and on. Peta getting stunned, walking in, and Terry keeps picking her up--touching the jab, leaning in with the right, then turning Peta with a hand in behind the elbow for leverage. At the bell, Peta is wobbly butt, bleeding from the nose, wide-eyed--she couldn’t have been more tuned up if Terry had paid her.

R6: Terry Farrell rolling Peta up. Wilson stumbling into the punishment, hands low, mouth open--she can’t seem to shake off the daze as a dialed-in Farrell lasers the jab, drills right crosses, then gets out of Dodge with solid, unspectacular fundamental boxing. Terry’s eyes glued to her target’s sleepy face, gloves at her chin as she steps around the blonde, dishing it out. Down the stretch, crowd roars as Farrell lights Peta up with a dazzling right cross, bending into the punch and jerking Wilson a quarter turn to her right, sending the champ wandering to the ropes at the bell.

R7: Peta shaking off the punishment comes out sizzling, feasting on Farrell midriff with brutal hacking swipes--Teri backpedaling, pumping jabs, fighting with teeth clenched as the champ walks her down. Peta emerges stronger, trapping Teri ropeside in a savage final minute, clipping the ear with a Diego Corrales tight left hook, then dropping the right hand on Terry’s face to ring her up at the bell.

R8: All Terry Farrell! Terry running out of gas, pushed to her limit by the tireless blonde, but brunette savvy comes into play. Terry backpedaling, luring Peta in with a the pitty pat jab, then diving in with sweet right hand, connecting flush, and clinching for the break. Terry able to score repeatedly, and conserve her energy as a frustrated Peta Wilson is clouted and tied up from bell to bell.

R9: Shout Peta Wilson! Terry breathing through her moth, back to the ropes as she slides corner to corner, dukes at her temples, palms out as she commits to survival. Wilson wading in, can have the body, but she still can’t break down Farrell’s defense upstairs.
Terry unable to answer back, but shameless about jumping in to clinch, tying the blonde up and frustrating Peta to the point of b###hiness. Harsh words exchanged as Peta demands the challenger trade--Terry making Peta talk to the palm as she walks away.

R10: Peta surging across the ring, traps Terry in her corner and pours it on. Farrell’s defense holding up in the first minute as she covers up tight and bounces against the ropes, but a vicious right across her belly, right uppercut between the mitts breaks her down and it’s open season in brunette challenger Peta putting them together, bludgeoning away, lefts and rights hammering past Terry’s  weakening guard as the brunette sags against the turnbuckle, Final minute the longest of Terry’s career as she is absolutely ransacked--Peta leaning in on her, putting her body behind ruinous blows to the body and head and TERRY GOES DOWN! BELL SOUNDS! Farrell up at 8, woozy, dazed, but she goes the distance in a corker. Decision comes back a one point victory for the winner and NEW MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMP: TERRY FARRELL!

After” Pandemonium breaks out as a sobbing Terry Farrell is lifted high on the shoulders of her corner crew. Peta Wilson is STUNNED, punished face slack, expressionless as she wanders the crowded ring all alone. Biggest upset of the fledgling year sees a flashy, powerful young blonde get turned upside down and all around by an older, wiser brunette in one for the record books. In the days to follow, Tank Enterprises compound will be bombarded with match requests from Cindy Crawford--Farrell one of the few challengers unoptioned by the big brunette, ho could never have foreseen this particular turn of evens.
