Bell’s learning curve continued to steepen as Kelly Monaco would follow the Sarah Carter blueprint against Bell—slugging her way to victory, and not always in the most wholesome manner.

Kris continued to show sharpness, decent skills and combative nature, but Kelly’s clobbering punches were simply too strong. Bell was shook in the second and spent the round staggering or clinching for relief. More chin-music and some bombastic trunk-checking would have Bell reeling in the third. When Kelly slowed to recuperate, Kris did make inroads-boxing well in the fourth and clearly outclassing Monaco in the fifth, but when Kelly caught a second wind, Kristen caught hell.

Bell was battered from pillar to post—her eyes forlorn, lips parted, guards ashambles as Monaco pinned her ears back and laid on a snarling beatdown. Lusty brunette lather along the ropes had poor Bell reeling, and when the knockdowns started coming in the middle minute, the dam had burst. Kris would be sent to the deck twice by looping Monaco right hands and the finishing flurry was wholly uncalled for as a swaying and defenceless Kristen Bell was pummeled heartlessly to her back at the ropes.

A seething Monaco made a fine statement about her own progress on the night. A devastated Bell limped home lumpy, beat up, and wondering if she really had what it took to compete against hardhearted little vixens like Kelly.
