Vs.
Hunter King
(25, 5’5, 115 lbs, 16:1 FCBA, Front Street)

Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
"I'm feeling good,” Ginny starting the press conference with a smile and a nod. “My two previous wins were big for me, so I'm pretty damn confident for tonight. But don't worry, I'm taking Hunter very seriously. She seems tough and her boxing record is insane. 16-0 until last month? BUT she just lost a match for the first time, so hopefully that makes her a little less confident and a little more vulnerable. I also have three inches on her, so I'm expecting one hell of a fight but also am looking forward to whooping her butt!” Ginny ending her segment with an even wider grin compared to when she started.

Hunter King seated at the other end of the table, smiling back calmly for someone who just had their win-streak broken prematurely. Losing one’s momentum is one thing, but losing for the first time ever in one’s illustrious career is truly another thing altogether. But King not allowing a setback like that to get in the way of her ambitions.

“I know what Gardner and her team were thinking, picking me for an opponent. And I don’t blame them - it must look like blood in the water if the sharks are circling all over like this. But make no mistake, just because I lost ONE match doesn’t mean I’m hanging up my gloves anytime soon. Ginny’s good, but come on, I’ve fought AND beaten a tougher range of opponents overall. If I were her, I would’ve picked someone else to face off against tonight. That’s just a fact.”

Arena is still abuzz as both these darlings of respective stables make their entrances, with Ginny walking down the ramp in her blue/grey Dollhouse sports bra and long tights, her blonde hair frizzled around her face and later on secured in a neat ponytail hanging out back. Hunter on the other hand sporting a grey tank-top and white boxing trunks, shadow boxing down the ramp in a pair of red gloves.

We get the first ring of the bell and HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Ginny wants to take things slow and cautious, not about to go back down the slope after a good over-the-top win over Naomi Scott last month. As it’s usual of her strategy, she’s moving fast at the opening bell, making Hunter move in even faster in order to chase and catch her. What Ginny doesn’t count on, however, is Hunter’s agility and speed that’s almost equal to her own, as the Front Street starlet rushes in no problem to fill the void, landing a hard right to the middle of her forearms! Well, that didn’t take long! Ginny shocked and rocked in the opening seconds, her wide eyes saying it all as the rest of the round is spent covering up and absolutely running about to reestablish her distance. She’s not used to facing off against someone with BOTH power and speed, and King surprising her with both, making her scramble backwards and forget to do any attacking of her own. King with no such qualms, however, piling on the pressure with a constant stream of punches landing on Ginny’s guard, even scoring a hook or two into the Doll’s side before Ginny can fully get herself out of harm’s way. Not the best opening round for Gardner, as she allows Hunter to run away wide with points.

ROUND 2:
Time and time again people have underestimated Hunter King, seeing her as this innocent blonde girl who’s been fed tomato cans throughout her entire career. But not so for those who have actually seen her move and in action - Hunter keeping up the chase here in the second, with a measured advance on another blonde girl who’s looking even more wary than usual at trying to keep her off her trail. Ginny moving those legs faster this time, scooting away each time King makes a sudden move forward, at the same time using her longer reach as another obstacle course that King has to navigate in order to get to her prize. Hunter making a few forays inwards but taking a couple of jabs to the face before she gets the memo to take it safer, slower and steady, doesn’t want to risk throwing away the lead she’s built in a heartbeat like that. Gardner pushes herself to the limit this round as a result, succeeding at keeping King at bay, but really, at what cost? The Doll is already breathing hard as she returns to her own corner, but hey, that’s the price to pay by playing it safer rather than sorry.

ROUND 3:
King getting advised to bide her time this time round, and she does exactly that - the Front Street starlet hasn’t accumed a stellar record of 16-1 over the years for nothing, you know! She stays back and allows Ginny to come to her, but it’s not the best strategy to employ against someone with a four-inch height advantage over you! Ginny hesitant at first, circling to the side, also unwilling to show any flashy moves less she gets flattened out on her back. But then, the second minute sees Gardner slowly inching herself forward at the encouragement of Carmen in the corner, ends up dictating the action when she discovers that her long jab allows her to land punches on Hunter’s face and body without much hope of the shorter blonde firing anything in retaliation! Gardner then flies forward on the offensive, slapping more and more leather into Hunter’s arms, then lighting up her body when Hunter tries to block everything all at once. King getting outplayed by both corners as she has no choice but to retreat and reevaluate her strategy once more. Twice in a row now that she’s been beaten to the punch, and a sense of fear is starting to take over that pretty face of hers, that this might be another repeat of that brawl with Natalie that ended badly.

ROUND 4:
Say it ain’t so though - Hunter’s corner finally deciding that perhaps the best defense is a straight up, all-out attack on Ginny Gardner... Hunter staying back in the first thirty seconds or so, giving Ginny just enough time to be lulled into a false sense of security before she CHARGES in all of a sudden, firing jabs into the Doll’s guard but not before tagging her painfully on the lips and nose. Ginny letting out a series of yelps, didn’t expect that sudden change of pace and assault on her being, now scrambling to cover up as she jumps backwards. But something in Gardner also snapping in the third minute, making her decide to stand her ground and fire back at King blow-for-blow. The two ladies exchange stiff penalty swings to each other’s faces, mutual grunts filling the air as they rotate the head to either side, but then, Gardner can’t hope to stand toe-to-toe with her opponent’s power, gets blasted off into the ropes when one of Hunter’s hooks lands hard, King putting some extra love into that pulled-back, letherripppp right hand! Before she can chase after, however, the bell rings and ends this round, with a clear advantage for one of these lovely ladies.

ROUND 5:
Ginny having learnt her lesson and appears to be staying away once more, and really, overall, she has the element of speed over King, who’s again trying to rush in and finish the job early. Ginny leading her by the nose, landing a total of three jabs before Hunter’s beginning to reminisce of those earlier rounds where she got wrecked, automatically puts the brakes on and circles right instead, opting to cut off Ginny’s escape rather than rush in and try and bully her… at least not yet. Ginny heartened slightly, picking off targets from afar and seeing a glimmer of hope at the end of this tunnel as she starts to build up the momentum bit by bit. But she gets her dreams cut short when Hunter suddenly blocks most of her jabs with her guard, then BLOWS her back with a late-round swing that cuts across her chin in a dazing shot, just enough to spook the taller blonde running for the hills. Ginny taking the round overall but it’s hard to argue who’s won the psychological battle at the end of the fifth.

ROUND 6:
Gardner hiding her head behind her arms as she attempts some hit-and-run tactics, some of which have served her well in the past. But Hunter King ain’t some newbie who’s easily toyed with, after taking a flurry to her arms, manages to predict Ginny’s pattern and time her return hook just perfectly enough to SMACK into her face from the side! URKK! Ginny groaning as her head swivelled to the side, the rest of her body definitely stopped in its tracks as she takes a couple more hits to the nose before she has to pull back at top speed. This time, however, Hunter pulling no punches, comes ROARING after her, keeping up the constant punches in Ginny’s direction. Gardner getting herself trapped on the ropes as a result, final minute in danger of knocking off her feet when Hunter shoots in a double-whammy into the midsection, before her head BLASTED skywards with an uppercut landing to the jawline! But Ginny just conscious enough to wrap up with King on her way down, staying afloat as she uses her height advantage to keep her knees from buckling completely down to the canvas. Bell rings soon after and Hunter roughly shoving her foe off, no doubt pissed slightly that she could have well won this fight right there and then, if it weren’t for Ginny’s stubbornness. Still, Ginny doesn’t look like she’s in the best shape either after eating that much abuse.

ROUND 7:
Gardner fading fast as we head into the last quarter of this fight - all that energy used up pretty early on after Hunter managed to catch and mangle her in the first few rounds. The Doll is still trying to evade using those long legs of hers, but King just fresher and faster at this point of time, moves in like grease lightning and SLAMS another hook combination straight into her raised arms, sending Gardner careening off to the side like a ragdoll. Ginny’s face a mixture of shock and awe as the blows keep on coming - she’s trying to use her guard to fend off the smaller girl’s rapid attacks but keeps on getting blasted off balance by King’s power. Another sudden fist buried into the tummy has Ginny folded over with a gurgle, leaving her wide open as Hunter lunges in for the kill - HOOK to the cheek sends the poor blonde spiraling downwards into a heap!

KNOCKDOWN for Hunter King and maybe finally an end to the fight as she scores big with that combination! ROAR from the crowd as King draws first blood, making her way to neutral corner with her chest pumping in and out, as though it’s the first real breather she’s gotten throughout these seven rounds of non-stop action! Ginny dazed, trying to push herself up onto all fours, slowly making her way back to shaky feet in order to beat the count, but definitely not looking like she can continue much further, with her mouth hanging open and her eyelids still fluttering as she steadied herself by the count of 9.

The referee calls for this round to resume, but Ginny barely even registering that she has to survive another two minutes in order to get the call home safely. King roaring back in, resuming the shelling with more lefts and rights sent into the weakening guard, as she throws poor Ginny to the sides and then into the ropes once more. A third hook BLASTING Gardner backwards, resulting in the blonde holding onto the top rope for life support, her mouth ajar as her face is scrunched up in all sorts of pain. Hunter strapping more leather into her entire body, then shocking her to the face as the rest of the lanky girl’s body battered about for the ride. Referee FINALLY has seen enough, jumps in to save the Gardner from some permanent damage! He definitely waited too long there to stop this fight, if you ask us, with Ginny basically out on her feet, finally sinking back down to her knees, parts of her face already starting to swell in nasty shades of red and pink, before she collapses face-down into the canvas! It’s finally over!!

Official Decision: Hunter King defeats Ginny Gardner via TKO7!

AFTER:
A technical knockout for Hunter King, in such decisive fashion! She may have gotten herself a slow start in the first few rounds, but she definitely redeemed herself after stepping on the accelerator and taking the win over the finish line. King beaming for the cameras, then waving to the fans, a feeling of both relief and pride lighting up her face.

“I’m back baby! I knew my time wasn’t up. One loss on my resume doesn’t make me a bad fighter - it makes me a human one. I’m already looking forward to starting a brand new winning streak, and it’s gonna be one that surpasses the old one if its up to me…and it IS!”

Ginny getting rolled over by medics, Carmen Electra and other members of her stable kneeling down by her side after the chaos in the ring subsides. Still knocked out cold, Ginny doesn’t even register the questions, and the medics quickly place her on a stretcher and whisk her backstage for more extensive treatment. It’s another setback for the tall blonde - she just can’t catch a lucky break, meeting obstacle after obstacle in her career. Hopefully she recovers from this and comes back even stronger!
